What’s up everyone! I’m back with another stat based rankings. Sticking with defense and essentially just working from the top down I have chosen to do the linebacking core for today’s rankings. This time there will be a bit more of a shuffle when it comes to scoring based on stats. To start I realized I left a key stat out when ranking the defensive backs….I forgot to add in sacks so my bad on that one. With that said I feel sacks are not at the top when comparing defensive backs at least when you compare it to linebackers and defensive lineman. So, with that said I added in sacks starting at eight points per sack, this gives them more value than tackles for loss but not as great as a turnover. Keeping that going I decided to up tackle for losses from two to five, I believe since linebackers are all in all going to be responsible for a lot of tackles and tackles behind the line they should receive more points for this because it is more core to their responsibilities. I left tackles where they are currently at since it is just a good base line to build from.
For the final stat change I bumped fumble recoveries up to ten points from five. This is an essential turnover that matters more for linebacker than for defensive backs. Originally, I didn’t know how to grade them, in my eyes forced fumbles are just as valuable as fumble recoveries because you can’t have one without the other. This created a dilemma though because fumble recoveries should in theory be equal to interceptions since they are both a turnover, but this would create a potential twenty-point play if you forced the fumble and recovered it which didn’t seem right. To fix this I bumped fumble recoveries up to match interceptions and kept forced fumbles at five which could become a power play of fifteen points.

From the data we can see the top three stand a decent amount above the rest of the crowd, and on top of that the London Royals had two of the top three linebackers. Alejandro Chainbreaker placed second as a rookie, someone to definitely keep an eye on in the upcoming ISFL draft.
