(Hey grader please spilt the money between me and @H0PPY75)
Hey guys WildfireMicro here with another London Royals Rookie interview! Today we have HOPPY75 here to answer questions while I add my own comments to them. So without any further ado let's begin!
1st question:
Who is the best NFL comparison to your player?
Answer: Anyone answering this question as a defensive tackle would probably say Aaron Donald because they think they are the best defensive tackle in the league but at this point I'm going to be a little more realistic with it, I would probably consider myself more of a Derek Wolfe type defensive tackle. Someone that is going to have an edge to them and isn't going to back down from a fight. My player is built as more of a run stopping tackle so getting the sacks like Donald isn't super realistic either. Fergus is going to be one of those players that is going to give you 100% on every play or die trying, he will sacrifice his body to make sure he is in position to make a play or at least set it up so that one of the linebackers can make the play. I would say that I'm not here for defensive stats like Wolfe but I'm here to get defensive stats and to win games. I want teams to line up against me like they would against Derek and know that they are going to be in for a sixty minute dog fight that is going to get down and dirty.
That is definitely a good comparison and I love how detailed you made it. Not much more to say but still a good answer.
Seccond question: How did you find the league?
Answer: I found the league originally back in February of 2020 when I first joined the PBE. I created a player and was drafted to the Portland Pythons as an offensive lineman but at that point in my life I was still really new in sim leagues and I just couldn't get into because of the amount of time I was spending trying to get my PBE player up, so I ended up retiring from the league and didn't really have an plans on going back until last seasons trade deadline. One night I was talking to a guy by the name of 3Lewsers who is my first baseman in PBE and I was asking him what leagues he was in and he said he had a player in ISFL so I had him shoot me a link and I ended up coming back. I felt it was a good point to comeback because in PBE I'm a GM for the Providence Crabs and it's been really stressful for me because not only am I having to build my player but I'm also having to draft new players, sign free agents and set line up cards for games. ISFL is giving me an opportunity to just go back to building a player only and that I can use is as a destresser from the insanity of PBE. It's pretty much my sim league therapy session, I use it to do some writing and take our any frustrations that I have in my personal and sim life and it allows me to still "play" the sport that I love the most.
Ohh you are a GM in PBE so you might be a early pick in the ISFL draft. For me I am not stressed by anything in this league besides the games themselves and the Wiki task.
Question #3:
If you weren't drafted by the Royals who were you hoping to be drafted by?
Answer: boy that's a really hard one. It probably would have been Norfolk because I have some really good friends from a couple of other leagues on that team, granted I probably wouldn't play with them very long because they are going up to the ISFL fairly soon.
Yeah Norfolk are cool people. For me it would probably be Portland because I like the people there.
Question #4:
This is an odd question, but how would your player interact with other players on the Royals in the locker room like Tsuyu?
Answer: My player would be super friendly with his teammates, if they need help with something he is always there for them. He is the ultimate teammate, he will die to help them out.
That's always great to hear! Tsuyu would definitely get along with him and he sounds like a great locker room presence
Question #5:
What was the most difficult part of starting out in the league?
Answer: Mainly it was just finding where everything is on this board, they basically have the same items to do every week like you do in PBE but stuff is located in different places. I pretty much have everything in PBE committed to muscle memory and now I have to the do the same thing in ISFL. I think the second toughest part is going back to having a player that doesn't just have a comfortable amount of money, I'm now having to work hard again to make money instead of just checking the bank account and going "yep, I can buy all of this" and not blink an eye at it.
Yeah the most difficult part for me was being overwhelmed by the scope of it all. That and the Wiki task and yes I still don't like that task.
Question #5:
Who has been your favorite members to interact with?
Answer: I think if I exclude any of the PBE guys that I've been talking to since I re-joined I would have to pick London Royal user katarn22. It was the guy who did the pre draft interview with me and he has overall been a great guy in pointing in directions to talk to people on who can help me build my player the best. Plus we were in voice that for probably 3 hours on the night of the DSFL draft and he overall a great guy to talk to and I think that we are pretty similar in personality type so we get a long great.
Kartan is an amazing user and I love interacting with him as well! I've talked to him in voice chat as well and he is super chill.
Question #6:
Another odd question but if the Royals held thier own award show like the Phythons did do you have any fun awards other then the usual "MVP" or "Defensive player of the year?"
Answer: I don't know if I can really answer that since I haven't been around all that long but one conversation we had was who had the crappiest car, so I think that would be kind of a funny award to give out
That's fair. I might exclude this question next time I do this.
Question #7:
If you could play any other position what would it be?
Answer: Running back, it would be nice to get the ball the majority of the time and be able to outrun people and score touchdowns and have everyone know your players name. I think it would be kinda cool be a player that has a big outcome on the game
For me it would be Tight End because that's the closest one to Wide Receiver
Question #8:
If the league expanded again where would you put a team and why?
Answer: I would probably put a team in Bozeman Montana. They follow the college team closely and they don't have any other competition in the area pokies they already have a stadium that can be used
I will say Louisville Kentucky because I live in Kentucky and we have no major pro sports teams
Question #9:
What are your ultimate goals with your player?
Answer: I want to win as many championships as I can. That's The ultimate goal and then if I win some individual awards or make the hall of fame that's just gravy
That's pretty standard. For Tsuyu I just want to be the best I can be and not repeat past mistakes.
Question #10:
If you could compare the Royals to any real life team, be it NFL or college, what would it be?
Answer: I would probably end up picking the 2015 Denver Broncos. The defense appears to be the strongest part of the team and the offense can get what they need done if they have to. Seems like a lot of scoring and sacks coming from the Defense.
You know I wasn't thinking of that team when I made this but I can absolutely see that.
Question #11:
If you could play with any or of your teammates in London in the ISFL who would it be?
Answer: Steven Wadham because even if I'm not getting to the quarterback I know that he is ready to ball hawk a pass in the secondary. It's nice to know that even if I'm not getting my job done, there is someone waiting back there to take the ball away from the other teams offense.
Yeah you two would definitely make a powerful duo. For me I would love to play with Don't Trust The Potatoes because we get along pretty well.
Question #12:
Ok last question then some final words: what are your favorite renders in the league?
Answer: Obviously I'm going to pick mine because I think Derek Wolfe is one of the most underrated players in the NFL and I think overall makes a great render because he looks intimidating. Next I would pick Marlon Brando of the Royals for picking Marlon Brando, it's always pretty cool seeing people pick renders of non athletes for their renders.
I love Brando's render as well! Great classic look. Other then that and my own render i like Chika and Prince Vegetas renders.
Final question:
Ok what are your final words?
Answer: I know the season didn't start off the way we had planned but it seems like we are starting to turn it around now. I'm thinking that we will be in contention for the Ultimini by the time the season ends. Overall I'm really enjoying the league and it's great being able to meet and become friends with a new group of people outside of the PBE and I'm looking forward to continuing my career in the ISFL.
Great final words and I am looking forward to how you do as well! And that is all the questions we have folks tune in next time I do an interview! Stay warm and see you later.
