Are you guys following Jay Cue's season? He's great, not only as a player, but also as a person.
Activity Check = 2 TPE
Participation = 1 TPE People who are comparing the two are arguably making a case FOR the people to get the TPE, because it should take less effort to get 1 TPE than 2 TPE. Also, maybe that 1 TPE is what the league means to them smh my head With all that being said: applied @Frostbite I hope the job is still open (12-15-2020, 05:15 PM)Laser Wrote: Firstly, the emphasis is mine. Because it's a Point Task. Point Tasks aren't here for free TPE. Could it have been worded differently? Yes, and I think mostly everyone agrees, but that is what it is now, I have explained my take on how defined rulesets should be before in this thread. But Point Tasks are there for a reason, it doesn't matter how many TPE you get from them, they have a reason they require - and always have required, it's not like this is a new thing - a certain type of participation: Namely on topic. The amount of TPE granted doesn't change anything for me here, especially not the temperature of my take, because if this league would give out free TPE it would probably do so by saying: Here, post whatever in this thread for a free TPE. What I am arguing here is that the difference between a AC and a PT is the prompt. And if we want to make ACs so that only people get it that follow the instructions: Ok, let's do it if that's something that's important to people, but it has been like this for ages afaik (where it doesn't matter what you post in there), same as it has been like THIS for PTs for ages. (Where it DOES matter what you post in there) All in all this probably would’ve been an easy solution if the user went to PPT or HO who sponsored this PT and asked them about it instead of posting it like this in the Media section where - as we know - things get memed into oblivion and discussions escalate. In the end the question we should probably ask is do we want a user that maybe thought a bit about it and wrote "I like this league because it introduced me to great friends and I learned a lot about football or kittens" get the same TPE as someone who wrote "Gimme 1 TPE for writing this" and my personal (solely personal) answer to this is no, because one of them thought about the prompt and the other didn't and we would punish the user who did.
So, none of our weekly PTs directly say that your post has to be on topic. Does that mean if I write 200 words off topic that I should still be awarded the tpe? No, because that would be dumb. I don't see how this is any different. Clearly, the 1 tpe was meant for those who wrote less than 100 words and, like all PTs, stayed on topic in their writing.
If we're going to give back the 1 tpe to the users who failed to stay on topic because it wasn't very clearly spelled out to them that doing so would result in 0 tpe, then we need to give back all the tpe to all the users in the past who didn't stay on topic in their PTs because it wasn't clearly spelled out on those. Yet no one would seriously think that was justified. Why? Because the whole point of a PT is to stay on topic.
