The happiest time of the year—for everyone except Mike Boss Jr. You could say that the Rookie QB had a hot start, but as of late, has gone from a rocket strapped to his ass destined for the moon to now being more of watching The Challenger Disaster re-play in 4 quarter increments. Boss Jr has provided the gift of games to a few opponents this season, but his benevolence is not limited to the grid iron. Boss Jr has carried over his own personal foundation from his time at Tijuana. For every INT thrown and game lost directly because of his actions, Boss Jr has donated thousands of dollars of video game products and accessories to kids in need. Boss Jr. was asked his motivations for starting this charity:
“I was always a closeted dork as a kid. My parents didn’t want me to play video games, but luckily since dad was away all the time, Mom always had one of my dozens of uncles get me a video game whenever they visited. Sometimes when dad was gone for three to four weeks at a time, I’d come out of that with like six new video games. Those things kept me busy for hours! I just want to give the kids of Sarasota the same feeling I had as a youngster.” [223]
