[div align=\\\"center\\\"]It's that time of year again, the calm before the storm of the NSFL S2 kickoff. This time last year we first debuted the article and expected mixed opinions. However the article was well received both as an opinion piece for casual fans and as an early scouting report for NSFL GM's. Stars were born on the waiver wire last year and many first round picks were spotted by our analysts. Without further ado, we're going to take a look at all the players who so far have hit the waiver wire.[/div]
[div align=\\\"center\\\"]Brice Boggs - Linebacker (Yellowknife Wraiths)
Boggs is currently the only waiver player on the Wraith's this year. Boggs who had a standout season for the Gators last year will hope to mimic his collegiate form which proved so successful. The 22 year old who originally was born in Kentucky is an efficient speed rusher. Boggs is the 5th linebacker on the Wraith's core, Boggs will need to leapfrog the lacking Chunk & Hampshireton this year in order to have a chance at showing his worth. Boggs will likely seek some leadership from S2 rookie Kevin Cushing at the linebacker spot who makes up for his NSFL experience with athleticism and work ethic. Should Boggs perform to anywhere near his potential, we could see him easily crop up in the first three rounds of the S3 draft.
J.D. Boom - Defensive End (Baltimore Hawks)
Boom who hails from Camden, Maine spent all of his collegiate career with the Wolverines. A stand out all American selection, Boom was picked up by the Hawks to hopefully bolster a half decent defense. Boom is not likely to play a single snap this year, stuck behind a quality end in Hendrix and a standout rookie in Taylor, we expect this year to be a "learning year" for the pre-rookie. 320lbs, #91 is an out and out run stopper who is what many would describe as a raw talent. Not yet specialised in any aspect of the game, but doesn't show any glaring weaknesses. Boom has a high ceiling in terms of potential and should he develop would likely be a 2nd round pick at the latest in next years S3 draft.
Mark Strike - Quarterback (Arizona Outlaws)
Mark Strike became the first quarterback this year to hit the waiver wire. He was picked up by the Outlaws likely due to provide depth at QB or even possibly a position switch. The 24 year old became the third QB on the defending champions roster behind Bronko and Draxel but we could even see him take the #2 spot by the end of the year. The mobile Penn State man spent all four years at college, an anomaly for NSFL athletes. Better suited to a checkdown and short to mid range passing game, Strike could see snaps for Arizona this year if they lose faith in their backup QB and continue to blowout teams following an impressive debut season.
Gavin Graham - Safety (Arizona Outlaws)
Graham who is most known for recently being kicked off his community college team has entered the NSFL with not a whimper, but a bang. His name is practically known league wide , not for anything he's done on the field but rather the recent situation. Graham was picked up by the outlaws as their 3rd safety, behind DPOY Rashad and Davis. Arizona will hope the NSFL outcast will do most of his talking on the pitch as opposed to off of it and allow them to secure a possible back to back championship. Graham possesses an average skillset with decent speed hands and agility and dependant on his off field issues , we can't forecast if he'll have a place in the league next year.
Godfrey King - Defensive Tackle (Arizona Outlaws)
King isn't likely to see much action this year for the Outlaws, after being picked up on the wire he became the 3rd defensive tackle on the roster. #72's skillset consists of brute athleticism in his interior rusher role. While not likely to rack up the tackles in his role this year, he could be a valuable pickup along the line. 300lbs at 6'3, King hopes he can turn some heads in this years season with his limited snaps to make a lasting impression on watching GM's. King could easily be a 1st to 2nd round pick next year, should he continue to progress.
Iyah Blewitt - Kicker/Punter (Las Vegas Legion)
Blewitt was the first name taken off the waiver wire this year. Blewitt is the second Kicker on the current Legion roster but all signs point to him being a starter for S2. Canadian Blewitt is a well rounded kicker/punter and many have forecasted a Johnny Hekker like S2 for him. Life on the newly established Legion franchise will no doubt leave Blewitt with plenty of work to do. This year is a great opportunity for him to possibly establish himself as a starter in the NSFL and possibly raise eyebrows of any other GM's interested in him.
Luc Long - Offensive Lineman (Las Vegas Legion)
Luc Long became a Legion player earlier this pre season in a bid to improve their lackluster line, Long could easily become the best offensive lineman on his team by mid season should have a comfortable pre rookie season in Vegas. Long who is from Chicago is an average lineman in terms of NSFL quality, not possessing the ability of a pro bowler, but still being able to start on most lines. Long should he develop would easily be a first round pick in the NSFL, which is permanently on a hunt for good lineman.
Jordan Danvers - Offensive Lineman (Philadelphia Liberty)
Danvers who boasts an impressive 6'6, 310lbs frame was swiftly picked up by the Liberty earlier this week. Predominately a pass blocker specialist, Danvers can sometimes be a liability when attempting to open up running lanes. Danvers luckily will snag a starting offensive position for the Liberty, being the 5th lineman on the roster. He will hope that this year will raise his draft stock and dependant on his performances this year he could be a highly touted prospect for next year. However, many analysts have raised concerns regarding Danver's mental state, recently Danvers went on a lengthy, expletive filled rant on Twitter regarding his local DMV's decision to not update the name on his driving license free of charge, when he feels they are solely responsible for the spelling error.
