Prompt Wrote:As a public figure in one of the sporting world's biggest leagues, you have certain obligations that need to be fulfilled. One of these is committing a certain amount of time to charitable organizations. Which charity would you choose to work with? What would you do for them and what would the desired result be? Seeing as ISFL players have such great health care that we're currently immune to injuries, I think the best place for helping out is with charities related to harms that other suffer. Personally, I've found the goals of Child's Play to be a good group. For anyone who doesn't know about them, they started out as a group that brought games to children's hospitals in an attempt (in my observation) to bring something fun into children dealing with health concerns. While I don't have any children of my own, that seems like a worthy goal especially considering the gaming-adjacent nature of the ISFL. I think that as a football player I'd be well suited to do things like playing this year's Madden with kids at these hospitals. I'm far from the biggest star on the Copperheads, but I'd like to hope that there are still some kids who would get a kick out of playing a football game with a football player. I know there are also some organizations which run a charity auction as a fundraiser which often features experiences with gaming groups, such as getting included in a Penny Arcade comic. I could see also putting some sort of play games or go to practice with me as a donation/activity for that auction. And of course, just working with the charity directly to raise awareness both in those who have kids having health issues as well as with my community and fellow players to help direct funds to them seem like something I can and should do. I believe that the optimal outcome looks like more money to help more kids have less painful hospital stays. Publicity and funds would both help with their mission, so I think that I should be able to help them somewhat. It was only recently that I learnt that charity was the act of giving time or money to support a needy cause, and not (as I had previous thought) a woman NAMED Charity who took dupes money). Upon learning this I quickly took it upon myself to help find a worthy cause I could do my very best to help. At 1st I looked at blood related charities but unfortunately they expect me to donate blood which I realised was not a good idea for, err reasons. I then decided to create my own charity. Now I am not as worldly as the rest of my team mates and I realised that in this country an around the world there are many people who are are older than others and have been left behind by modern technology. My charity helps these older individuals (many of whom tend to only be around in the hours of darkness for some reason) to learn all the new technologies that have appeared over the last few years, the Internet, computers, telephones, the automobile. My charity offers lessons so these poor old folk shut up in their large spooky mansions can better integrate with society. The name of my charity you ask? Why it is the Very Active Multitechnology Platform Information Relearning Emporium.

As a Penguin himself, I feel like Adelie de Pengu could only logically work with a single charitable organization. The Global Penguin Society. They are an internationally recognized organization who is solely dedicated to the conservation of all 18 penguin species on the planet. This obviously hits close to home for Adelie as he doesn't think people understand just how much danger penguins are in. Of the 18 penguin species, only three aren't at least threatened. Five are endangered. That's right, almost a third of all penguin species are on the edge of extinction due to habitat destruction cause by humans. Adelie donates almost every dollar he makes on his ISFL contract to the cause to make people not only aware of the horrific things humans are doing to his species, but to also help conserve what is left. He routinely does free commercials for the GPS and regularly volunteers whatever spare time he can to visiting schools to help educate the young on what they can do to help save the penguins. Penguins are one of the world's great marvels and it would be truly tragic to see them disappear forever. As such, Adelie will continue to do everything he can to change the world to one that is better for his friends and family.
I grew up with my mom as an elementary school teacher at a middle class elementary school. Even though it was a middle class area there was still a good handle of students who did not have the resources or support for a good life. My mother had a heart of gold and would do whatever she could to make sure these students were getting all the opportunities that everyone else was. Something as simple as a breakfast, or transportation is some of the hurdles she hoped to eliminate. But because she was only one person she could only do so much. On top of that these extra things she was helping out were coming out of her pocket, not the schools. I believe teaching is one of the most underrated jobs and a job for someone who has the patience of an angel.
My charity and volunteering would go to fundraising and implementation of scholarships and funds for these teachers to distribute to make sure everyone has the same opportunities. In addition I would create different Children Centers for these children to be properly cared for and a safe space for some of the children. As I was growing up there was a kid in my class that needed help. His family life was far from good and of course my mother wanted to change that. My mother and father went through the process to legally adopt this child. This was eventually denied because the mother did not want to lost the child support she is suppose to receive. This child was prevented a better life because of his mother seeing him as a dollar sign. My goal is to get this changed. I want to be the voice and resources for teachers who want to help but just can’t on their own. |
