Hello ISFL, the last time we spoke I campaigned to be the DSFL KoTY, tonight my DSFL career has come to an end. I wanted to say a few thoughts and look back on my 3 season career and share with you what it meant to me to be a Python.
Some may say I was unlucky. My first season we blew the 17-0 lead in the ultimini, I am still trying to get over it lmao, in my second season we had an unfortunate exit in the Semifinals. This season we came up short in the Semifinals as well. You could say I was unlucky but I would say you are crazy. I wasn’t unlucky I was lucky, I got to play for the Pythons. I got to meet so many incredible people over the course of my 3 seasons. I got to experience 3 sets of GMs and each of them were as incredible and hardworking as the other. I was the lucky Kicker, the new user that not many people knew, the new kicker that got picked up one week before the trade deadline. The user who had no idea what I was doing or talking about when I first joined the league. That was me! Portland took a chance on me and I am forever grateful. I remember when Southpaw contacted me and had a few questions for me, it was mini interview if you wanna call it that. The next day I got an invite to the server and found out I was the new Kicker. I remember making a few mistakes on my updates and my teammates and General Managers were there to help me. My first season I was really excited to be on the field. I had named my Player after LSU Kicker Cade York who had beaten Florida on a 57 Yard FG the night before! I wasn’t great at first but the Pythons were there to help me along the way and I am forever grateful to South for how amazing of a GM he was, he sent a reminder every day if I hadn’t updated or forgot a prediction and was a perfect GM. Thank you South for picking me and letting me join this amazing team.
I was going to talk all about my performance over these three season but I don’t want to do that right now. This paragraph you may want to skip because it wont be great. When I joined Portland I knew 3 people, Saba(Still waiting to play Jackbox), South(had met him the night before), and I briefly knew of someone named Zeagle. Little did I know Zeagle would instantly become one of my favorite people in sim leagues. For those of you who do not know I was a 2nd round pick by the Arizona Outlaws and Saba and Zeagle kept pushing for them to draft me. They ended up drafting me even though I do not max earn but they still trust me and it is partly because of Zeagle, what am I saying its probably all Zeagle and Saba. When I first Joined the Pythons Zeagle greeted me with open arms and was willing to help me with any questions I had. When he became a GM I was very excited and nervous because I was worried I would have to switch positions. He ended up letting me be a terrible Kicker. Zeagle was always willing to talk to me about random things, it could be about the size of Chick-FIl-A milkshakes, school being annoying, or my favorite thing to talk about LSU. I am sorry I annoy you all the time Zeagle but I am extremely grateful for the opportunities you have given me and I can’t wait to be teammates in Arizona with you! You are a great GM and I am sorry we couldn’t get the job done for you but it will probably happen next year now that I am gone :/.
To my teammates over these past three seasons I wish I could name you all but I do not want to forget anyone. I just want to thank you for putting up with me and my random rants in the LR and even though I wasn’t very active in my 3 seasons you guys always treated my like I was apart of the snake family and I feel like I am. Words can not describe how disappointed I am I didn’t win a championship with you but I know you all will win one in the ISFL, please dont beat the Outlaws though because I would like to win first! You are all amazing people and I cannot thank you enough.
My DSFL career may be over but my ISFL career is begging and I can’t wait to be an Outlaw! My favorite sports team has a saying for when you leave, it #ForeverLSU, well I am Forever a Python and will always remember my days as a Python. Thank you to everyone who took time to read this and thank you Portland, I will always be a Snake #ForverPortland. Cade York signing out one last time. Arizona, here I come! Go Pythons and good luck guys!
