Training camp was interesting for Jake Fencik for one reason, preseason trick plays that involved using him at RB, WR, TE, or OL. The idea is that a WR runs a route, and the QB throws the ball to Fencik, who then kicks the ball to the receiver who should be open after the defenders see the ball to go Fencik. The play had mixed results, where sometimes it resulted in a wide open TD, and sometimes it didn't work at all. What this also did for Fencik was greatly improve his accuracy with kicking and punting. During training camp he also focused on not getting the ball to land inside the 20, he was aiming higher. He wanted to get it inside the 5 every time. When not pressured he was able to do this around 95% of the time from anywhere past his own 20. During field goal practice, he was consistently able to hit from 64 and below. On kickoffs he wanted to try to make life harder for the return man, so he practiced kicking the ball higher and farther, and was able to consistently get the ball to land at the 3 yard line with 5.2 seconds of hangtime.
The DSFL season is starting soon and it’s time to lace up those shoes! Training camp is a pivotal part of the season starting and Hercules Kamealoha was hyped and excited to jump in right away after he landed in Kansas City. It was a mild day and much cooler than his balmy Hawaiian hometown and Hercules was ready to start drills and working with the defensive coordinator and his team. Training camp gave Hercules a chance to meet his new teammates for the first time. Fellow defensive linemen, Prof Gravity and Konstantin Selich were cordial during their first meeting and Hercules met them with warm welcomes. As far as secret plays go, there weren’t many to be had for the Kansas City defense as the hardnosed defensive coordinator worked to impose a standard 4-3 defense with Gravity operating as a hybrid role. This allowed the two rookies, Kamealoha and Selich, to take up the front bulk of the load. Overall it was a good training camp and Hercules did well despite struggling to keep up with the physicality. In time, more training and adjustments will need to be made as the rookie becomes an integral part of the Kansas City defense.
Heading into the last season before regression Heinrich Kackpoo decided to skip training camp. It was not because he wanted out of the team or had personal issues with the coaching staff. He simply didn't want to go through the endless grind. His coaches naturally were not amused by this decision. The head coach even visited him at home when he heard he will not be attending camp.
He arrived in his hometown. Well it is not exactly a town but a small village in the beautiful austrian landside. He chose to stay a day or two and help him out at his parents farm and just enjoying the simple troubleless life there. On his second night there Heinrich and his coach hit a bar in the small town nearby. They got totally wasted and Heinrich fell in a coma like sleep. In the morning on their way back home the coach put Heinrich in a taxi and shipped him off to the airport. When Heinrich woke up his plane was just about to land in Kona. Amazed by the guts his coach had to pull this off he got to the team hotel to join his teammates. After desperately needed another night of sleep he reported ready and fit and worked through training camp like all the other players.

Saleem Spence reported a day early for camp in order to get mentally prepared for the traditional two a day practises that make up the bulk of the camps. Also reporting in was Michael Witheblock, who needed to get a leg up on his transition from Wide Receiver to Middle Linebacker, as well as Joseph Radetzky and Tre'Darius J'Vathon, who didn't want the prized rookie to get a leg up on them in the battle for Wide Receiver spots.
Spence worked hard on the tire drills, and was busy catching passes from anyone, Mike Boss Jr., former DSFL quarterback LeBron James III, JUGGS machines, the works. He worked on breaking tackles against members of the Sarasota secondary, trying to maximize his yards after catch ability, and also did some long distance running in the mountains to improve his stamina to minimum ISFL standards. Spence got enough benefit from the camp that it seems he's being used as the team's 2nd receiver, if his stunning debut three touchdown debut against the Colorado Yeti is any indication. Sarasota's offensive staff was impressed enough with Spence's progression that they tried to scheme up some endaround runs and jet sweeps, to take advantage of Spence's physicality. However, the AI robot coach of Sarasota, ZBot Frost SarasotaCoach1, ultimately nixed these and other creative plays when preseason hit, which is still a bone of contention between some players and the coaching staff. Ultimately it'll be slants, curls, and running plays from Sarasota and 13 other ISFL teams for Season 29........ Ah training camp. The new start to a beautiful football season. This was an odd type of camp for Stewart Hellraiser, not one with an official team, but with other free agents looking to be picked up by different DFSL teams. No longer was this about being better than your backup, it was all about opening as many eyes as possible to earn a contract.
It was also unique as Stewart was the lone tight end in attendance. Not hard to be the best tight end out there, but also unique as not many teams need a player of his position. Still he did the very best he could. His agent Muckers O'Houlihan commented on how good he looked running drills and never letting up once. Can't be too upset about that at all Stewart is still waiting at this time for someone to call him with an offer to play. And as the season does draw near, the worries and doubts do start to creep in a little. As much as he knows he impressed everyone at the camp, there is still some unease when your future remains up in the air as it does now. He'll keep his phone close by until it does finally ring 208 words S42 Ultimini Champ

Heading into this season training camp, Ragnar arrived back to Hawaii promptly 2 days before the start of camp. The notable absentee was big Edd, who although did show up as one of the first members to the training facility, ended up passing out early from pounding a few coffee's and red bull's. The team ended up finding him passed out in the sauna, severely dehydrated.
Once camp officially was underway the groups split up into the normal mini camps - receivers, running backs, quarterbacks, and line were the offensive groupings and bouncing between receivers and oline was where Ragnar spent his time. Working on state of the art pancaking strategies developed by nasa scientists located at the university of Hawaii observatory, the Honalulu front line has a secret weapon in store for the league this season, and practice went well. Next, the offence moved on to a bit of an odd training method, they met the High Jump and Long Jump instructors from the U of H track team. They learned how to use all their power to explode into jumps, where the realistic potential for evading the opposition should make itself noticed during the season, in some absolutely breathtaking highlight plays. Overall the receiving core is tighter than they have ever been, and this season is looking very strong for Honolulu's passing game!

Training camp wasn't as per usual for Hex Aqua-Key'Kiann. Hex was signed off waivers only a few days before, so the team was well into training camp already. Weirdly enough, most of the "workouts" he did for the Birddogs consisted of just drinking a whole lot of that high-quality water. While Hex was confused at first, he soon learned of all the benefits of water. Of course, the other players were doing workouts. Toastovich catching every pass going his way, Gaare trucking through everyone, and Marston laying out pretend defenders. Hex wasn't allowed to work out until he was fully hydrated, but near the end of camp, did get into some workouts. It was nice meeting everyone on the team and getting acquainted with them. However, as we all know, all good things must come to an end. While Training Camp was winding down, Hex took this opportunity to gather up the squad and deliver words of inspiration. It was your normal speech, saying how the dogs are gonna win it all and everything, but it mostly about getting the team bonded together. During the last few hours of training camp, the dogs held a vote for a captain on each side of the ball. To Hex's surprise, he had won the vote for defensive captain, even as a rookie! This left Hex feeling extremely happy, as he exited training camp with a huge smile and a drive to win.
