Mark Ramrio former DT of Penn State coming off his middle of the road performance in the All-American Bowl game is here to field some questions about the big game, his future in the NSFL and pretty much anything else. He pulled in 3 tackles in his performance which is in fact the most out of any DT in that Bowl Game. Though apart of a stellar Team 2 defense who allowed just 14 points with only one of those being a touchdown he was still able to make some great plays.
I'm ready when you guys are.
"What would you say to those who were expecting more for you in the Bowl game?"
I would say I expected more in myself but sometimes things don't go your way. Maybe I wasn't in the right place at the right time, maybe it was just an off day. I'm just glad to be out there having fun and picking up wins. That was a tough defense who racked up more than a couple yards on us tonight but we followed one guide like. Bend, don't break. All in all I'm happy with the events that have transpired today.
Who's next?
1) "Do you think your performance in the game cements you as the #1 DT in this year's draft class?"
This performance alone. No. I feel like if anything it was a bit of a low for me personally. However with that said watching the tape I didnt see many mistakes and thats always a great sign. I was maybe a step or two behind here and there but I've got the tenacity and dedication to improve on any of those weaknesses.
I've got the drive to prove I have much more to offer. I don't know if any of those other guys have that type of mind set and I think thats what makes me the #1 DT in this draft.
2) "What advice would you give next year's draft class for the All American game?"
Try not to force to much and let the game come to you. Its just like any other game. Youre still playing on tuft, a yard is still 3 feet. Its no different so don't psyche yourself out. When you get out there you can't be second guessing any actions. Total confidence through and through.
3) "Which lineman do you think gave you the toughest time on Team 1?"
Boyd for sure caught me off gaurd and had me on my keister. Now don't quote me but, I may have got him back with one. However that Angus fella is a brick wall. Thats someone I have to watch out for not overly strong. I don't found myself bouncing back from him but he wouldnt budge man.
4) "After your experience tonight, what aspects your game do you plan to work on before the draft?"
To be blunt I think I need to bulk up a bit. Get swoll.
I've found my best bet is to barrel through the offensive line. I was hoping I could get the best of both worlds, stay nimble and bulk up, but its become obvious to me and my mentors for right now I need to focus on one and let the other follow and my strength seems like what we're looking at.
5) "How would you counter scouts who believe your zero sack performance in a game featuring 11 sacks shows a weakness in your interior rusher archetype?"
I'd let them know they aren't wrong. Its not the strongest showing but thats my floor. Thats just about the worst you're going to get out of me I can tell you now its only going to get better from here. I'm watching tapes, I'm working out. I'm learning from mistakes and how to capitilize on others. This may not have been my prettiest game but I held my own and was able to rack up more tackles than any other DT in the game. I think thats a high floor.
"What would you say is the strength of your game?"
My dedication to this game and the team that I represent. I'm never done improving. Self awarness is an important thing to. I'm aware i'm no Superman. I have my weaknesses and I always will, I think everyone does. Others try to brush off those problems like they aren't a big deal and I do my best to hammer down on those flaws, improve and learn from them.
"What do you want to work on in your first season to improve?"
Honestly, every aspect of my game needs to be improved thats kind of just how I always think about it but i'm trying to work myself out of that habit and maybe focus on one trait more than the other ya know? We're leaning towards focusing on strength training.
"How will you become the best DT in the league?"
Nothing but hard work is going to get me there. Where ever I end up going in the draft I'm going to work my butt off to make sure THAT team is the BEST team in the leauge. Only then would I consider myself the best DT in the league.
"Who are some other players you think are at your skill level?"
In the All American game Fuego Wozy was blowing my mind. That guy is a machine, But the big surprise was Kreklow. He made me glad I wasn't on our offense. There is tons of great defensive talent in the draft. Thats exciting to see!
"How many sacks do you predict for yourself this season?"
Without knowing what scheme im going into its tough to say. I can end up on a 3-4 heavy team and play Nose Tackle if thats what the coaches want. Even still I don't think double digits is out of the question.
What defensive line prospects would you want to line up with the most?
Tyler Varga and Adamle Tomlinson come to mind first when I think about guys i'd like to line up with. I think we could be a terror to opposing QB's!
Where do you want your career to go?
Well I think everybody dreams of one day making it to the hall of fame but before that...I'd like to be a part of a Dynasty. The type of bond, loyalty and effort to achieve that is something I dream of.
There's a lack of defensive tackles in this draft, is this a relief to you?
Well, knowing I have a starting spot coming to me is great but, I would prefer some competition. So right now i'm just making sure I do whatever I can to let people know who the #1 DT is.
Have you ever considered moving to de for plays?
For certain! That was something I did quite often in high school a little bit less in college. But I think im more than versatile enough for both positions.
When the draft comes do you think you'll be left dissapointed at the end?
No I think ill be happy with where I end up and where i'm valued. I know i'm not on the top of any list in the media but I think that's because the GMs are smoke screening me :cigar:
Is anything real?
I'd say so! But on the smallest level its all just vibrations. Ego death will "prove" some crazy things
Cognito Ergo Sum. Thoughts?
Have you ever been to a Walmart? there are tons of people existing who don't think at all. I think that puts a wrench in the phrase hahaha.
Socrates or Emmannuel Kant?
I wish I could say ive heard of Kant =[ I dont think I can properly decide.
Time is a manifestation of human, agree or disagree?
I probably say this once a month or so hahahaha! Some people counter and say the sun and moon keep track but they are never as consistent as a clock is so that's just ludicrous
Which culture's generalized ideologies do you most closely align with?
420 culture :cigar:
Did you play any other sports at your time at your time at Penn State?

Any hobbies you like to do in your free time?
I like video games! I use to have a channel dedicated to lets plays on youtube other than that I like to grill meats all kinds of meats! But burgers are tops.
How would you grade yourself from a mental standpoint?
A+ for certain. I know where my head needs to be. I'm confident but not to the point where it can be a detriment. I know where I need to improve and i'm taking all the steps to get there. I never let nerves get the best of me. I've been out there a hundred times and for me I know that every game is as same as the last I just have to stick to the plan and do my thing.
Any thoughts of coaching after your NSFL career?
Oh man to be honest it never really crossed my mind but that would be a dream come true. A fulfilling career on the field and then taking position of coach...It would be really nice and an even bigger bonus if I can stick with one team my whole career! If that fails I'd like to be a chiropractor.
What is your greatest accomplishment outside of the football scene?

I guess they were throwing out left over food so he brought it all. All I had was a Burger, no cheese with Ketchup. But it was a meal that always stuck with me. I haven't had a burger that matched it yet. Apparently it was a 9 dollar burger. Not very big. So it better be good!
I'm not well traveled sadly. hahaha. sorry.
Are you friends with Michael Newman?
Why did he say we are? Tell him to stop calling me.
Is DT the hardest position in football game?
Ah thats all subjective ya know? It'd be real hard for a WR to play DT but his position is crazy hard to me haha. TBH I think the hardest position has to be QB. Doesnt mean we all arent out there working just as hard though.
What's up with your nickname? Do you really hate hype?
I actually do hate over hyped bullshit. Things that are popular for the sake of being popular hahaha. But really it came from a youtube channel. There was a game coming out and everyone was hyped about it. I knew the game would flop because it was made by a garbage company. So I felt anti hyped fit that first video well.
Doesnt really work to well anymore...But the game did flop. Mirrors Edge Catalyst.
Ironically enough, you're pretty much hyped prospect. Do you hate that?
I felt like people are sleeping on me! So its exciting to hear the opposite. If its true I dont hate it at all. The hype is real with this one!
Trust the process?
Always. If every ones not on the same page we already lost.
1. Do you have any rivals already?

I'm looking to be the best well rounded. I believe that I can wrap people up more efficiently, i'm stronger, im more varied in my pass rushing maneuvers. In my opinion all Reigns has on me is a foot race.
On top of all that I'm looking to be an active part of my team and a huge presence in the locker room.
What do you think of this years crop of Offensive Lineman who you will be facing each and every week?

Would you rather catch a TD pass or block a kick?
oooh I think it depends on the situation ya know? I want whatever will effect the game more. Id rather take the lead in a close game with a touchdown rather than block a PAT when we're ahead by 30 at the end of the fourth. Vice versa. I'd rather block the game tying/winning or whatever field goal than catch a TD pass when we are ahead by 30 near the end of the fourth.

5. Do you have any pregame rituals?
I like to embrace my nerves. So I usually like to go somewhere quite about an hour before the game and just let it happen. It gets me pumped. I don't know its hard to explain but once im back in that locker room I liked to get hype with the team and feel my worries slide away.
1. What's your favorite podcast?
The Kickin' Back with Mack Podcast cause his voice is beautiful

I'm ready when you guys are.
"What would you say to those who were expecting more for you in the Bowl game?"
I would say I expected more in myself but sometimes things don't go your way. Maybe I wasn't in the right place at the right time, maybe it was just an off day.
