The Berlin weird gecko people or maybe it is a lizard, I do not know what it is, but I do not believe it is a salamander, but anyway. The Berlin Fire Breathing Salamanders…. (which IS NOT REAL). You know what you could call that thing? A POKEMON.. Like a.. Charizard, yea that is what it is low key. ANYWAY! I have been wondering how Berlin is so good, they struggled to start the season, going 1 win and 2 loses going into week 4 where they fireballed my butchers 30 to 17. That was the start to something NEW. Week 5 they trade for some washed up scrub… WE THOUGHT he was a scrub but he has brought this team a new presence on defense. Tyron Shields came to Berlin from Chicago, the dude had one year left, and it was starting to show how OLD he was getting. He was getting burned by these younger speedy wide outs. So it was like he was just going to be washed up anyway so why not go after a third round pick for his old, washed up, not good anymore. He came to this team and they won 10 out their last 11 games. He ended up with 5 interceptions, he has brought that to glory on the defense side of the ball. But on the offense side is where it gets interesting. Nick Kaepercolin had a really good year, bagged 4,764 passing yards with 11 interceptions and threw 39 passing touchdowns. He was third in passing touchdowns this season. He was second in quarterback rating as well. He was also second in least thrown interceptions with 11, the number one quarterback threw for 10 interceptions, so Nick Kaepercolin was not far off. A lot of those touchdowns went to Cmon Skiuuup. This dude had 96 catches with 1,517 receiving yards and caught 15 touchdown passes. Skiuuup had a great season
Now we have watched the game and seen the New York King Kongs win the Ultimus, which congrats on that, but I was shocked by that. I really believed that the Berlin Fire Breathing Salamanders would come out this game with the win, New York King Kongs were in control that whole game. They were up big to start the game, and then around the fourth quarter New York King Kongs put it into overdrive. They grabbed that Charizard looking mascot and ran up to the top of the empire state building.. (410 words) The future number one wide out for the Chicago Butchers Mike Hunt… He deserves all the awards for being an outstanding player on and off the field. He would be the BIGGEST eater, during practices and it comes time to eat. He is up there with the O LINE… Throwing elbows for Ms. Williams homemade Mac and Cheese. It is to die for. It almost caused a player to be cut from the team, they wanted it so badly that they literally caused a fight over it. IT IS THAT DAMN GOOD! Mike Hunt would also take a trophy for best listener. Not to people… but of Podcasts. Mike Hunt LOVES podcasts, while working out he is listening to ISFL podcasts, or even DSPN (ripoff of ESPN) podcasts. The truth is Mike Hunt deserves any award for showing up late to practice. He is never on time. He use to live at the practice facility when he got called up from his DSFL team… who just won a UltiMINNI the Minnesota Grey Ducks. He would sleep there during the beginning of the season, because he had no place to live just coming into the league so early. He did not get a lot of money from his contract so he stayed there at the practice facility. Yet he was still late to practice somehow. During his first season he was late to every practice. And the coaches made him run “laps” around the field and it was based on how many minutes he was late. So, his latest time of being late was 23 minutes. He had to go and run 23 laps. This season though he was only late in all the practices except 3. He was on time and everyone was just shocked. Somebody asked him if he was sleeping here again. Another award for Mike Hunt would be the “STINKY” Award. This award goes out to the biggest and stinkiest player on the team. He is very superstitious so he does not wash his underwear or socks. If he is having a stretch of good games he smells like a locker room, but when he has a bad game he will wash them immediately that night and now put them on until gametime, and he hangs them in the locker in the same spot and the same way each time. He is called a looney person for doing that. Mike Hunt needs help… clearly. (405 words)
Just to start things off, I need to provide some context on a small but passionate community of Werewolf lovers with the New Orleans Second Line. Just kidding.
For real – this has been my first year playing for the ISFL, not the DSFL affiliate team. I have had a blast and I have enjoyed every minute of my time, despite my many off server time constraints (for those that do not know, I am currently in the middle of a cross country move), New Orleans has been a great place to be. I have been blessed to have an understanding team and a great General Manager (shout out Mithrandir) who have been very supportive in this time. I think the league is a great outlet for avid football fans and simmers, and this season was one to remember, especially for the Second Line. We started off the season very poorly, losing several games and dropping well behind the 500 mark. Most of our server was joking that it was another rebuilding year when we ultimately made our furious comeback to get to the Ultimus Playoffs. Through hardship and a little luck (“sim gonna sim”) we made it to the playoffs for the third time in four seasons. Despite my enjoyment of the league, there are a number of things that I think could be improved about it. The idea of the ISFL is a grand one – an entire league of user generated players that battle it out for an imaginary championship that they can then lord over the rest of the league for the next few weeks. Really fantastic imagination and thought process. In reality, I feel at times it falls short of what I feel this league really intends. I want to enjoy the fantasy of the league, feel the gameplay and dive in to the nitty gritty of the gridiron, but at times it feels like tedious homework and constant writing assignments that take away from the excitement and camaraderie that I think should be the heart of it. Players aren’t paid enough and are expected to earn enough through voluntary media pieces, league jobs, and podcasts so that their players can buy equipment for the year. Sometimes the last thing I want to do after I leave work for the day is dive in to a 200-800 word essay. At the same time I understand the overall need to reward more dedicated, active players for their contributions and commitment to the league as a whole. It wouldn’t be any fun if your player couldn’t shine in games against entirely inactive squads or something, so obviously there needs to be a balance. What I am suggesting is more creativity in the form of point tasks. Create rewards in the form of TPE for award winners in the ISFL and DSFL, have some of the point tasks act less as homework assignments, and create a fun element to them. The second thing I want to point out is the recruitment of new players. I think the league does a good job of finding and corralling new, active members, but the biggest challenge is the learning curve to be successful – Honestly without the help of Southpaw as my General Manager in Portland, I may never have figured out how to update my page and create a player profile. My Wikipedia page was declined like 5 times before I was told exactly how to fix it. This steep learning curve and focus on tedium to improve highlights the wrong areas of the sim for new players, and I think it is the largest contributing factor to newbies going IA in the first few weeks / months of their DSFL careers. For new players there is a whirlwind of activity for the first several months – character creation alone can take several hours. Learning the ins and outs of point tasks and how to claim them is another difficult hurdle, and combine that with near constant messages from potential DSFL draft suitors and you can spend an entire week just getting started. I want the league to grow and I feel it needs to be more user friendly, especially for the newest and most fragile members of the league. First impressions are everything, and if they find it to be a struggle and not worth the hassle, we lose out. My suggestion is to create a PDF that can be sent out to all new players that clearly outlines the expectations and annotates major things that need to be done. As far as I can tell, in order to get all of the information you need to get started, you have to navigate across several different areas of the forum to get everything you need. Include major individuals (I.e. the commissioner of the league, Rookie Mentors, and General Managers of various DSFL and ISFL teams) and their discord contact information. Create a directory of newbie resources that can be leveraged. If we are going to make it such a hassle for someone to create for the first time, the least we can do is most of the legwork. Create that roadmap so that they don’t have to figure it out all on their own. (871 words)
1. This week will see the S29 Ultimus and Ultimini races begin in earnest. How did each team arrive at the playoffs? Were there any dark horse teams that went unexpectedly far, or any presumptive favorites that fell flat? Who do you think will win the final? If you’re writing this after the finals were decided, were you surprised by the outcome?
So, for this prompt, I want to specifically talk about Berlin making it to the finals. I’m part of the Berlin Fire Salamanders personally, but the main reason I want to focus on them is because they’re an expansion team. It’s completely insane to think about how they went from near bottom of the league (as expansion teams typically are in the beginning) to the ultimus! I was a S27 create (like i was drafted into the ISFL then), and that year they were near the bottom of the league as well. I remember my first ever season predictions, I completely guessed on which teams would do well, as I didn’t know any better. I remember predicting The Berlin Fire Salamanders as the top of their division, mainly because I found their mascot and name cool. Unfortunately that didn’t happen, and while i don’t exactly remember their record, they were in the bottom half of the division with 7 wins, and I just remember kinda silently rooting for them, mainly because of my predictions, but still. It’s insane to me that they go from near bottom of the league to the ultimus in such a close period of time. They’re the ultimate dark horse team. So, onto next year, where they actually did worse than the year prior. They got 6 wins in S27, earning them the fourth round pick, which was when I was selected by them (coincidence that they started winning games only after they chose me? Probably. But whatever). Berlin had a lot of holes, with both a low amount of points scored and a high amount of points allowed. S28 though was different. We literally doubled our win total, and went from 6-10 to the top in our division, with 12 whole wins. It was a winning record, which was an insane switch. We didn’t end up winning the ultimus, but it was legitimately like the comeback of the century. And then, that leads us to this ultimus. Going from bottom of the league, one of the worst records, to the ultimus is legitimately insane. But what’s the reason behind it. My personal theory is that the drafting done by High and Dewalt for Berlin during the expansion draft explains both the record before and now. We selected a ton of young players who maybe didn’t have the best TPE at that time, but were on the rise. Obviously when a team is made up mainly of young players with lower TPE, they’re going to lose versus some players with much higher TPE, but also much older as well. This is expanded with the new sim giving older players a boost at their position (I can’t remember the name of it but it’s something like positional experience that increases the longer a player is around), so older players are gonna have even more of an advantage playing against a younger team like Berlin. I can’t explain the drop from 7 to 6 wins, but then again, that’s such a small change that it’s not like it requires some major explanation. But yeah, as our team grows older and gains more in TPE, plus some key additions in free agency of more high TPE veterans (Avery as an example), there was an insanely huge jump, especially because other teams were being hit my regression while we just started hitting our stride. And now I don’t even believe we’ve reached our peak. Some of our team has stated regressing, sure, but I think we still have room to improve! We’ve had some messy drafts in the past (I ended up being the only one called up to Berlin from my draft class, which is unfortunate), but we have a good mix of new and old players, and with our recent draft (the one a bit ago where we drafted 3 QBs), I think we’re doing pretty well. We have some holes that hopefully will get filled during the draft (we shall see, no spoilers), but I cannot wait to see how we do next season. On a separate note, I wanted to comment on baltimore. I know that i’ve written about them a bit on occasion, but I wanted to comment on the fact that they did surprisingly well. Okay, i get that 3 wins isnt ideal, but considering they had 0 wins just two seasons ago, it’s a huge improvement to have anything. I feel like 3 is just above that hump of “lucked out a win” and is kinda like showing they actually aren’t awful. Lastly, am i surprised by this outcome? Well i’m 50/50 on it. We did awesome this season, but like, we did have a couple holes, so it’s one of those things where i’m not surprised either way. That’s my analysis on how the Berlin Fire Salamanders were a dark horse team and how the Baltimore Hawks did better than expected
10. Write a short biography or story about your player. This could include background about how they came to the ISFL and how they’ve done so far, a story about their role in an exciting game, or anything else related to their experience in the league.
So the beginning of Decarr Rek starts with his step dad Ismael Sanchez. Ismael Sanchez was a defensive end in the isfl and played for the coyotes and the Yeti, going to the ultimini with the Coyotes and Winning an ultimus with the Yeti. Anyways Rek looked up to his father everyday and always wanted to be just like him. But he wanted to play a different position. He trained with him every off day they had. Weight room, conditioning etc. But he was training to become a QB since he loved watching QBs make big plays. Anyways once he hit high school he was a stud making varsity as a freshman and doing great all around. He kept doing great during high school and later committed to Fresno State University. Once he did he was determined to make the ISFL and promised his dad he would become the best damn QB he could be. Later in the year While Rek was practicing he heard the News of his dad retiring because of a career ending injury. He was devastated he couldn’t play with his dad anymore so he worked even harder to prove his legacy for him his father. He practiced as hard as he could in college becoming a top QB not just in his division but in the entire NCAA. Soon his name was heard everywhere but it stilled bothered him that people always talked badly about his father. This gave him more encouragement to work harder and become the best QB in the Collegiate world. Soon he became a top 3 QB in the college world and later committed to the DSFL draft in his Senior year and celebrated with his dad. Later on he kept working hard to earn as much tpe and was determined and earn more than his dad and build a greater legacy for him and his dad. Soon the Tijuana Luchadores picked him up as a waiver pickup and he was extremely happy even though he didn’t play a snap. He went to go meet his fathers family members back in Mexico and promised them their name would be the most popular name ever. Soon working and and sadly loosing an ultimini with the Luchadores he was even more determined to win one for his team once he got drafted. Now he is arguably the best QB prospect in the DSFL draft with the highest tpe of all QBs and hopefully this hard work pays off. 415 words 13. Expansion Expansion Expansion! The league seems to love talking about it, but it has still not happened. Tell us why it should happen / should not happen soon? Expansion Expansion Expansion. This is a cool topic to talk about because its probably one of the leagues most popular topics! Everybody loves the idea of expansion even me since it adds brand new teams that makes great competition of who’s idea gets to be the new team. But anyways expansion doesn’t always necessarily mean good, sometimes expansion can be overwhelming. Should it happen soon? Yes. Even though i sound apposed to it it does sound like a good idea at the moment. Its been a while since their has been an expansion and with the more people hearing about the league it more it will really grow. But in order to have expansion we need the massive reddit class which is sometimes kind of hard to get since we have to get a lot of subreddits to post about us. But if something works out for us again and we manage to get another big class expansion would be the best idea for everybody. But if it were ti happen would both ISFL and DSFL be expanded or will just one league be expanded? That is tough question to answer but if it were to come downs to me i would expand both. Adding two teams to each league and starting the whole competition of who gets the new team. And plus expansion would be another amazing way to spread the word of the league since the more people joining due to the big reddit class means the word coming out to many other people. But their will still be cons for having a big expansion. For example if their would to be more people to join than expected their would be more players than need and that would mean a lot of players not getting a lot of playing time even though being pretty damn good. Another thing would be if theirs to less players and expansion teams would be in a pickle for a few seasons trying to get enough players to fit their needs. But i dont think their is that many cons for expansion so I still beleive expansion soon would be a pretty great thing to happen. Nobody is really sure when their would be an expansion and when Ho will press the button for an expansion but if i had the final verdict i would 100% launch an expansion in S32 or S33. 14. Describe your player and/or team’s journey through this latest season. What were the highlights? What were the lower points? What might you have done differently? What are your expectations for next season?
This was Dante King's first season in the ISFL as a rookie with the Baltimore Hawks, and he was lucky enough to be able to join a team where he could come in and contribute immediately despite being a very young, inexperienced player. While there wasn't much to get excited about on the scoreboard for the Hawks this season as the team is still developing its young core, there were flashes of what the future could hold for Dante as he continues to develop. As part of a two headed running back committee with Busch Goose, Dante finished twelfth in the league with 823 rushing yards, a very respectable total for a first year running back. More impressively, he carried a 4.2 yards per carry average throughout the season while nearly all of his rookie peers fell below the 4 yard mark. While he didn't have to serve as a dual-purpose weapon like he did in college due to Baltimore's star young wide receiver core of Luke Quick, Chunt the Badger, and Preston Parker, he did add 199 yards through the air to put him over 1,000 yards from scrimmage on the season. Ultimately, he lost the Offensive Rookie of the Year vote to some wideouts with stellar campaigns and a fellow rookie, Brandon Prince, who vastly outpaced him in touchdown production, but it was still a campaign to be proud of. There were a handful of games that stood out among some weeks where King was very inefficient or the run game couldn't get going. In particular, it's worth noting his Week 2 game against the Yellowknife Wraiths that saw him match up against former Norfolk Seawolves teammate and star rookie running back Jay Cue Jr. - King heavily won the battle of the young backs, racking up 87 yards on 16 carries versus Cue's 22 yards on 6 carries. In Week 4, KIng scored his first career rushing touchdown on a 31-yard scamper against the Philadelphia Liberty. Weeks 9 and 11 against the San Jose Sabercats and Sarasota Sailfish, respectively, saw Dante top the 100 yard mark, as he accounted for 114 rushing yards and a touchdown in the former and 135 yards from scrimmage in the latter. The last game worth calling out is Baltimore's penultimate game of the season against the Austin Copperheads, where Dante had his only multi-touchdown game of the season. As all of Baltimore's young weapons develop in the coming seasons, the offense should be very formidable, even if that means fewer touches for King and Goose. 25. Imagine your current position was not available to be picked when you created your player. What other position would you have picked, and why? If I was unable to pick the running back position with my recreate, Dante King, I probably would have ended up creating a quarterback. After spending so much time maxing out my career with Nero Alexander at defensive end (plus a brief stint at defensive tackle), I was really craving some stats and personal glory with my next player. Running back seemed to be a versatile option to see myself show up on the scoreboard, but there is something about playing under center that is really appealing too. You touch the ball on every play and often find yourself in control of the most pivotal moments in the game, and I think that my experience with the sim would have prepared me well for the inevitable ups and downs that come with the position. Timeconsumer, with his legendary QB Cooter Bigsby, used to mention that to play QB in this league you must have thin skin and a short memory, and I hope I would be able to do that. Not to mention that in the new sim, passing seems vastly overpowered, with quarterbacks and wide receivers racking up numbers that would have seemed insane a few seasons ago. It would be fun to be a defining part of a new era like that! Or perhaps I would have been a trailblazer as a scrambling QB. Well, we may never know... check back in a couple years. 29. PBE affiliate
Ultimus Week Tier 3 Point Tasks
16. This task is exclusive to recreate/non-recreate rookies of the S30 class and later. The season is over and the draft is coming up. What do you bring to a team, and why should a team choose to take a chance on you next season? I have decided to take the sim league plunge this season and join the ISFL with my first ever player. Siaosi Multiauaopele is a S31 rookie safety prospect who has declared for the S30 DSFL draft. Without an established history, teams will inherently be taking a greater risk by selecting me over a pedigreed player. That’s part of the reason I selected this prompt, to assuage fears at the DSFL and ISFL level about the level of buy in I possess. My goal in joining this league is to be a max TPE earner and a high money earner. Safety may not be the highest impact position on a per snap basis, but with my commitment as a high level earner, I hope to change that evaluation moving forward. In addition to being a max earner, I will be an active member and positive presence in the locker room. At the end of the day, every team is striving to win an Ultimus or Ultimini. My goal is to help whatever team takes a chance on me to climb that hill. Ultimately I plan on being involved with my team on multiple levels: as a max earning player that can contribute on the field, as a good teammate that can provide a positive presence in the locker room, and any additional means that would help the team. (Word count == 227) 22. You’re in charge of entertainment for the Ultimus or Ultimini half-time show. What would you do? The Ultimus is the highlight of the sporting calendar. Advertisers pay premium rates and then some because they know that all eyes are glued to the official ISFL Ultimus Bowl stream at the end of every season. This means the half-time show has two objectives: generate mass appeal to keep people glued to their seats and meet FCC requirements so the league doesn’t get fined. With those two overriding objectives in hand, I am able to develop the mission statement for my half-time show organization committee: “If we get people grooving, we won’t be losing.” This is why I am proud to announce my officially unofficial Ultimus half-time show theme, “Funkalicious”. Our first act towards maintaining our Funkaliciousness will be booking the Bruno Mars and Anderson .Paak supergroup Silk Sonic. This lead act will keep everything funky and fresh while also being able to slow things down while keeping it silky smooth thus maintaining excellent pacing throughout the show. The always important supporting act may seem a bit out of left field. But Carly Rae Jepson has a surprising amount of range if all you remember from her is “Call Me Maybe”. Her pop sensibilities align closely with our core objective number 1: mass appeal. With our primary and supporting acts aligned with our core objectives, we will bring the house down with a massive dance number during “Leave the Door Open”. This will ideally generate massive amounts of audience engagement to enhance sponsorship opportunities moving forward for the league. (Word count == 250) 25. Imagine your current position was not available to be picked when you created your player. What other position would you have picked, and why? As a strong believer in the multiverse theory, this prompt is an excellent chance to try and pierce through the veil and explore a world that is very similar to ours with one key difference: there are a glut of safeties in both the DSFL and ISFL making it one of the most difficult positions to break into if not outright impossible. In this world, Siaosi Multiauaopele would still have spent his time in high school split at multiple positions such as safety, linebacker, slot corner, and wide receiver. However, upon the return from his mission and arrival at BYU, Multiauaopele would have seen the impossible road ahead of him should he continue to play safety. With his size already having lent itself to playing more in the box, he would commit full time to the off-ball linebacker position. Having high school experience in the secondary would allow him to excel in coverage over the middle in the vein of Roquan Smith or Eric Kendricks. The linebacker position is one of the most taxing positions on defense. Having to cover tight ends and receivers over the middle, needing to maintain run gap fit, and blitz responsibilities all lay at the foot of the off-ball linebacker. With essentially acting as the QB of the defense, the level of responsibility makes it one of the most rewarding positions to successfully pull off. (Word count == 230) 27. What team do you think has the best branding in the league? What team do you think could use a refresh? Why? I will look at my personal favorite and least favorite brandings in both the DSFL and ISFL. If I say your team has my least favorite branding, please don’t strike me off your draft board. DSFL Favorite Branding - Norfolk Seawolves I’m a big fan of naval history so there is a fair bit of bias behind this pick. The city of Norfolk has multiple naval bases as well as one of the four remaining public American shipyards. The Seawolf Class submarine was a fast-attack submarine designed to replace the old Los Angeles Class fast-attack subs that had been in operation since the height of the cold war in the early 70s. The Seawolf was the fastest, quietest, longest range, and most heavily armed fast-attack sub in the world at the time of its design. Unfortunately, it was a bit too advanced and too expensive to produce. However, the Seawolf is an excellent ideal to strive for, being the best in every possible way. The high quality regional tie in, the clean blue, silver, and black color combo, and the excellent logo combined with my bias for naval history easily make it my favorite branding in the DSFL. DSFL Least Favorite Branding - Portland Pythons I do not dislike the Pythons branding. However, it is my least favorite overall. The alliteration is pleasant, but the logo leaves a little to be desired. The python wrapped around a football on a compass rose doesn’t inherently scream while also not standing out so much that it inspires much love from me. Maybe if the python was layered over an actual rose as a more obvious tie-in to Portland? ISFL Favorite Branding - Honolulu Hahalua Blue and yellow is an amazing color combination, one of my all time favorites. That alone makes this an elite branding among the ISFL. The manta ray logo being so unique and original makes it easily my favorite branding in the entire ISFL. Not too complicated for this one. It’s just fun. ISFL Least Favorite Branding - Chicago Butchers The colors are good, but I’m just not a fan of the bloody lettering or the violent branding. It’s definitely intimidating, but the blood covered cleaver feels like the kind of XTREME the original XFL was trying to evoke. I wasn’t a fan of that branding back then, and I still don’t particularly like it now. (Word count == too many 393) [OPTION]Height: 6'3"

Number 15 -Disneyland Looking at the Ultimus championship we have the New York silverbacks who took on the Berlin fire salamanders. Berlin I believe would come into this game as the heavy favorite but the New York silverbacks would come in and shock the world. winning the game 40 to 20. picking the overall and VP is actually pretty tough in this game and I would actually have to say it was running back Brandon prints over colt Mendoza cornerback. now Mendoza had nine tackles and an interception for a touchdown in the first quarter for a 54 yard return. but price averaged 9 yards a carry on 14 carries with 124 yards and a touch down, and I think we got to give it to the kid. That being subtle we need to look at going to Disneyland. now I believe the actual phrase is I'm going to Disney World which is the superior park in Florida but since the PT says Disneyland we're going to California. so of course, the kids going to get the red carpet treatment get the fast pass to all the rides for him and his family if he has one. enjoying the Disneyland parade at night under the stars and the fireworks to celebrate his ultimate championship and MVP. maybe a trip to the haunted house and future world with all the fun characters of Disney to highlight the evening of our MVP and overall champion of the ISFL. and you know what for arguments sake Colt Mendoza gets to go to, 'cause he had a damn hell of a game so the two of them get their own parade and they get to go through Disneyland in style and enjoy their championship hoisting that trophy congratulations gentlemen. Code: 294 words Number 16 Why should I be selected in the draft? Well, let me tell you a little something about Ioe torrent. I'm going to come the first day and work was damn ass off for any team that drafts me. I myself as a user am pretty darn competitive by nature if you've read any of my media or podcasts you could see a little bit about my history. I’m also a hard worker when it comes to creating content as I have done the Dallas bird dog recap show videos as well as several podcasts and even quite a few written media. I come with a pretty decent bankroll that I have set myself up to the least get that tier six equipment for most of my career. I have a commitment to excellence that I want to be a top Max-earning player. When I found out about any miss tpe I’m making a note to not miss it again and I would do everything I can to ensure I don’t miss any TPE opportunities. Not only that but my presence in the locker room anybody that can tell you I have comes to play io is pretty darn active in the clubhouse is that he is a part of and I guess is always ready for a good time. And so I think is a healthy addition to any clubhouse. I want to be a great teammate and guy that brings it too on the field as well. I will bring my recap show with me to whatever organization takes me and I will try and highlight the folks on the squad. I'd like to add that immersion and have everybody enjoy what's going on within the show something to look forward to each and every week. Code: 299 Number 18 – Teammate. Boy I kind of struggle with this question because the Dallas birddogs has a ton of great players. Ricky stanzi the rookie quarterback came in and lead this offense to a conference championship and should be up for any type of rookie of the year awards was a great player. but I think I got to give it to my boy HGex Aqua-Key’Kiann. Hex was the linebacker on a dominant defense that had 86 tackles in five tackles for loss. so we had a really good statistical season. that said this guy’s locker room presence and leadership is second to none. he probably had the loudest voice in the locker room showed up on game days hyped everybody up had a great personality and just was a joy to have in a locker room. he will be a great addition to any locker room at the ISFL level entering this year draft. hex brings that boyish charm of he's just here to play and have a good time he hypes people up he is a presence in the locker room every day and his player contributes pretty heavily on the football field at linebacker. I think another season of training he will be a top tier linebacker next season and will absolutely maintain that ferocious personality he has in the locker room to keep things fun loose and enjoyable within the clubhouse. Hex is the man that is for sure. Code: 243 Number 25- new position. So as my final PT for this ultimate week I went with this one because I've had this question asked in basically every single scouting meeting that I've had. the question is what position would you play other than the current one you are in. when I was signing up to the league I kind of went back and forth on what exactly I wanted to do. I end up going with the position that I played all through my life including college that I was the most familiar with that defensive end. probably should've gone with the dream position that I've always wanted to play so growing up I had pretty darn good hands and good agility and so I always wanted to play tight end. and I did in some aspects in high school. but I was always a bigger guy and they wanted me to be a blocking type tight in but I wanted to catch the football I just didn't have the overall speed necessary for the position. so if I got to choose again in this league I would definitely choose tight end and get to live out my dream of being a flashy type Travis Kelce type tight end. I want to be the guy that's out there catching over the middle running over cornerbacks and taking it to the house. I also want to be big enough to where I can drive and linebacker into the mud and get in his face and make him where she was not born. so, the easy answer to this question is easily tide end. that said to take it one step further wide receiver would be the next obvious choice for me, but I believe tight end in this day and age of football and the way the game was played today is one of the most fascinating and an important positions for any squad and would be my ultimate choice if I got to redo my creation. To all you Tight ends out there maybe I will change one day so you better watch your back. Code: 354
6. Write 800 words or more on something about anything in the league that interests you. It could be related to statistics, a league issue that you take seriously, or a niche part of history that doesn’t fit neatly into either of the above categories. This must be directly related to the league, so don’t wax 800 words about your team’s participation on a Werewolf server or something.
Did I miss the last 2 Ultimus weeks? I guess I'm just going to have to make this one better than the previous ones. Rookies are fascinating in football, they bring something new to the table, and can bring hope to a franchise who hasn't had that in years. Sometimes they are plug and play starters, sometimes they take time to grow into incredible players, and sometimes they completely bust. I believe that the Philadelphia Liberty's rookie class has been head and shoulders above the rest this season statistically. For this we are going to focus on four players, Xavier Walls, Romulus Roman, C.J. Sonjack, and Lonnie Jackson. First we are going to look at Lonnie Jackson, a rookie RB. Among all RBs, he was 15th in the league in rushing yards, and 2nd among rookies. He had 746 yards on 195 attempts, averaging 3.8 yards/carry. He also had 6 TDs on the ground. But rushing yards aren't the whole story with RBs, because they can catch the ball too. On 13 receptions, he added 103 receiving yards to his total, for 849 all purpose yards his rookie season. He was 3rd in receiving yards among rookie RBs. Now we are going to take a look at C.J. Sonjack, a rookie CB. As a rookie, CJ Sonjack did not record any interceptions, no rookie CB recorded any interceptions this season. Among rookie CBs, Sonjack was 3rd in tackles with 32. Where he really takes off is in passes defended. Among all rookies, Sonjack ranks 1st in passes defended, and tied for 4th in the league with 31. The next closest rookie had 9 passes defended, the next closest rookie CB had 6 passes defended. Third, we are going to take a look at Romulus Roman, a rookie safety. Among rookie safeties, Roman finished second in tackles with 54. Roman was the only rookie safety to record a tackle for loss. He was also the only rookie safety to record a forced fumble. He also led all rookie safeties in sacks with 4. Among rookie safeties, Roman was 2nd in passes defended. In all statistical categories Roman had a stat in, he either led his position among rookies, or was second among rookies. Now finally, the player who should win defensive rookie of the year, Xavier Walls, a rookie LB. In passes defended we already know about C.J. Sonjack and his ridiculous 31 passes defended as a rookie. In second place behind him with 9 passes defended is rookie LB Xavier Walls. Among rookies, Xavier Walls was the only rookie with more than one interception, he had 2. He also led all rookies with 2 fumble recoveries (no, I am not counting the QB who recovered 7 of his own fumbles, he does not play defense). Xavier Walls was second among all rookies in sacks, with 5. Among rookie LBs, the closest to him had 2 sacks. Among rookies, Xavier Walls once again led, this time in tackles for loss, the next closest rookie had 3 tackles for loss. His 7 tackles for loss was also good enough to be tied for 6th in the league. And now for what really sets him apart from the rest of the rookie class, his tackles. Xavier Walls finished the season with 105 tackles, second place among rookies had 73. Xavier Walls' 105 tackles had him finish tied for 11th in the league, and just 9 tackles behind the 4 way tie for 1st. The Philadelphia Liberty rookie class was incredible across the board when compared to other rookie classes, now lets take a look at other rookie classes, to see just how much better Philadelphia's was. Baltimore's rookie safety had the second most tackles among all rookies, the third most passes defended among all rookies, 5th most sacks among all rookies, and an interception. A great rookie campaign, but Romulus Roman's was better. San Jose's rookie CB had the most tackles among rookie CBs, a forced fumble, the most sacks among rookie CBs with 3 (how did this happen?), and not even one fifth of C.J. Sonjack's passes defended. And I know its unfair to compare any rookie LBs to Xavier Walls, but I have to do it. Arizona's rookie LB had 30 tackles which was second among rookie, LBs. He also had 2 tackles for loss, tied for 3rd among all rookies. He also had a forced fumble. He had 2 sacks, and 2 passes defended. Xavier Walls had significantly better stats in all categories when compared to Arizona's rookie LB. Among rookies Philadelphia finished: Tackles: 1st, 3rd, 6th Tackles for loss: 1st, 5th Forced fumbles: 1st(tied) Sacks: 2nd, 3rd Interceptions: 1st Passes defended: 1st, 2nd, 5th Philadelphia had an absolutely incredible rookie class on defense, being 1st in the league among rookies in every category except for sacks, where they were 2nd and 3rd despite neither of them being designated pass rushers. Philadelphia also got a solid contributor on offense who looks to expand their role in the future. |
