While Tatsu Nakamura has taken up a lot of attention from the S22 RB class as a surefire Hall of Fame candidate, we shouldn't forget about the accomplishments of the longtime San Jose Sabercats running back Jamar Lackson, who recently announced that he would retire at the end of S33, his 11th season in the ISFL. After being called up from the Minnesota Grey Ducks, Lackson spent several season as part of a lethal one-two punch alongside Rando Cardrissian. Shortly after, he took the reins as the main man in the backfield for SJS. With his retirement this season, Lackson finishes his career as one of, if not the best dual-threat running back, slashing up defenses on the ground and through the air throughout his career. Lackson currently ranks at 2nd in scrimmage yards (16,008) and 4th in scrimmage TDs (128), well ahead of the likes of Ashley Owens, Mako Mendonca, and other notable HoF level dual-threat RBs. While he didn't bring much hardware home in his career in way of awards, Lackson was a key part of the back to back Ultimus wins for SJS.
Jacob Small deserves to be in the hall of fame based on what he has done as a kicker alone, multiple perfect seasons, second most points scored all time, most field goals made from 40-49 yards, the list goes on. But a more ignored part of special teams is the other side of what the kicker does, punting. I did some punter analysis a while back, and Jacob Small is an anomaly when it comes to getting the ball inside the 20. He currently holds the all time record for most punts inside the 20 by 35. Jacob Small has had multiple outlier seasons when it comes to putting the ball inside the 20, but among those seasons there is an outlier. Jacob Small's S27 punting season is one of the best by a punter ever. He averaged 46.256 yards/punt this season, which is not terrible. But he also set the single season record for both punts inside the 20, and punts inside the 20%. No one else managed hit even 40 punts inside the 20 until S30.
To be honest with you the main issue with this question is simply trying to narrow it down to a single user or player or I think should be in the hall of fame as there are so many across the league. In the end I think I will go for a player and of course I really have to go with a Copperhead. Now one position Austin have developed so well over the last few seasons is linebacker and we have and have had a bunch of great ones. The one that stands out even amongst the many excellent one in Austin has to be Thomaslacher. He has been a stud every season and while he is now coming to the end of his career it is worth reflecting back on it. He has records and has multiple awards so it is very easy to say he really has to make it into the hall of fame as soon as he is eligible.
