(S34) PT 5 - Botchamania

Written option: Nobody's perfect, and unfortunately that includes the superstar athletes of the ISFL. With the S34 regular season coming to a close there has no doubt been many mistakes made that have been flat out embarrassing or quite literally cost our teams the game. These mistakes ranging anywhere from a kicker missing that crucial field goal, the entire defense blowing coverage, or your player drawing a personal foul on an important play. So, let's take a moment and reflect on these mistakes. Write about what sort of mistakes your player or your team as a whole have made in any game this season and the impact it had on the results.

We were so close to victory, all the stars had lined up perfectly for us. We were going to be the victors of this game and at that point in time, I didn't believe anyone could've stopped us from our rightful glory.
Even that morning when I had woken up, I had felt the pure energized bull testosterone running through my veins(this is purely a metaphor, Rocco Blade does not partake in any sort of illegal substances).
I sprinted out of my bed to the closest MickeyD's and ordered the McMorning meal or what ever, eggs mcmuffin, you know the deal. But this wasn't enough to quinch my thirst for fat and way too processed meat.. No sir, I wanted more, but I couldn't make time to get anything else as the morning practice was going to start.
So I jog down to the practice facility, we do our routine, afterwhich I take a nap in the cellar, because it's cool there and I like the damp smell of the place(reminds me of home).
I wake up half an hour before the game and I'm hungry as all hell. I decide to order some tacobell and manage to munch it down just before we have to take the field.
Well.. Just at the last minute as we're setting up our defense, I shit my pants and the opponents QB makes a run for it and gets the DT. We've lost the game.
TacoBell, never again.

I really dont like talking about the negative , It just bums me out, and these leagues are suppose toi be fun so I always try to keep that in mind now-a-days, because I want to have fun, I don;t want to be annoyed or miserable or whatever. So I always try to remain positive, even when I throw 5 interceptions in two games and want to chop my players arm off. But then the crazy goes away and you have a moment of clarity and you just keep it moving. With that said, I would like to highlight my sudden late season turn-over-itis that I suddenly caught after playing turn over free football for basically most of the first 2/3rds of the season. I dont really know what has gone down lately, but its there forever, I cant change it, Just going to keep moving forward and hope the next game brings me bit more joy. Til next time, lets go wraiths.

It was week 5 for the San Jose Sabercats.  Nick Flint had been having an okay rookie season but at the start of the game against the Orange County Otters, Flint made a mistake that would tarnish his perfect penalty free record.  In the heat of the moment, Flint took a facemask penalty by grabbing the ball carrier, Rufus and slamming him to the ground.  This was a rookie mistake.  It took a routine 3 yard carry to a giant 18 yard gain.  That play set the tone for the rest of the game, as San Jose went on to lose the game 20-31.  It was the perfect example of the mediocrity the team has been putting up this year, but it is expected.  With the team trying to bring in new talent and the main stays aging out, it makes sense to experience the growing pains.  All should be well if the rookies, like Flint, continue to learn from these mistakes.

Fortunately Swantavius King's two missed field goals have occurred in separate games where the team lost by more than three points, so it's hard to pin a loss directly on him. However, he has had certainly some questionable punts. Despite having the strongest leg in the DSFL, King sits squarely in last place in average yards with a paltry 42.5 yards per punt. Due to his lack of familiarity with the position and his powerful build, it is likely that King simply has many booming kicks that sail out of bounds. Perhaps his worst punt came in the team's recent loss to the Minnesota Grey Ducks. King had helped the team maintain its lead in the second half with punts of 51, 63, and 56 yards (and a converted field goal). Late in the fourth quarter, with the team on its own seven yard line, King produced an awful 34-yard punt that gave Minnesota the ball just outside of field goal range. A few plays later, Minnesota would score a touchdown on 4th down, and King would not touch the ball again.
