Transcript from an interview with Grayson Yates by the Sydney Morning Herald.
Interviewer Mcinterview: Hello Grayson! Could you give us an introduction for our audience who might be unfamiliar with you?
Grayson Yates: Of course! I was born in Bozeman, Montana and started playing football in middle school as a quarterback. In high school I switched to playing defensive tackle full time and after my senior year I got a scholarship to play football at Montana State university. After 3 years of playing in college I declared for the DSFL draft. I went undrafted and I was signed by the Bondi Beach Buccaneers, they asked me to switch positions to quarterback and I agreed.
Interviewer Mcinterview: Were you surprised that you didn't get drafted?
Grayson Yates: Honesty, I was. I know I have the talent to be a star in this league. But now I have a chip on and my shoulder an I'm ready to prove every team that passed on me wrong
Interviewer Mcinterview: Speaking of suprises, were you surprised when the Buccaneers head office asked you to switch positions and become a Quarterback? What skills do you bring to the Quarterback room?
Grayson Yates: I was as suprised as I've ever been, but the front office has been awesome and I have full faith I can be a successful quarterback in this league. I think my size and speed from playing defensive tackle will carry over and my coaches will be able to use my scrambling ability to help out the offense.
Interviewer Mcinterview: How are you adjusting to living in Bondi Beach?
Grayson Yates: I've been loving it here so far! It's obviously very different from where I grew up in Montana, but I love the weather and not only am I right next to the beaches but I'm super close to Sydney, which is an awesome city.
Interviewer Mcinterview: Thank you for coming to the interview! As a final question, what message do you want to send out to the fans of the Buccaneers?
Grayson Yates: This is going to be a great season! I have full faith in my teammates and coaches and will do everything in my power to be the best quarterback I can be.
