Here is a player by player analysis on where I feel each prospect should go in the upcoming S3 Draft. Of course, every team might value people differently and where people are drafted will also depend on very specific team needs, which is barely taken into account in this analysis.
Quarterback
Clifford Rove - Round 4
Rove is the top QB in this draft, but what hinders him the fact that all 8 teams have an established starter. He will likely be a top pick in the DSFL draft later though, because he will be a rising star there, and should a QB in the NSFL go inactive, he'll be the first man up.
Mark Strike - Round 6
He'll probably only be drafted so that he can be claimable from the DSFL by a team who has one of the lower end QBs. Unless he decides he can switch from QB to a different position like Torque Lewith last season. Another coveted player in the DSFL Draft though.
James Baker - Round 8
I feel he's the last of the draftable QBs, simply because every other team has well established starters. But he's draftable because of his activity and he'll be a top guy in the DSFL for a year or so until he makes his way up into the NSFL.
Aaron Rasheed - Undrafted
This is not a knock on this player. It is purely because they are too freshly registered and their TPE isn't terribly high. But this could really be beneficial in the long run because as an entrant in the DSFL, they would have the free liberty to basically choose an NSFL destination as a free agent when the time comes to be moved into the NSFL. Plus, he'll be a starter for sure for one of those DSFL franchises.
Nicholas Pierno - Undrafted
Again, this player has only recently declared eligible, so their TPE and activity is hard to put enough faith in drafting. But as it was with Rasheed, this can prove as a good thing since they'll be able to have freedom in the future instead of their rights owned by a franchise. And as one of 5 rookie QBs, he's guaranteed to get a lot of viewing in the DSFL. Activity and good TPE management will get him on an NSFL squad at some point in his career.
Running Back
Jaxon Tuck - Round 1
He's been a solid player for the Outlaws as a redshirt. He's going to be coveted because he's clearly the best RB in this draft from a TPE standpoint. Some teams like having a 2 running back system and he'd be a great compliment to any RB1. Although he did not catch passes as an Outlaw, that does not mean he can not do that in the future.
Erlich Burnsman - Round 5
There's a bit of a drop off between Tuck and Burnsman, but Erlich made a great impact on his short time as a redshirt for the Wraiths. He only was in 2 games, but he averaged 3.1 yards per carry and scored a TD. He's clearly a RB2 material if he is allowed to stay in the NSFL. If sent to the DSFL, he'll be a candidate for the offensive player of the year. He won't be in the DSFL for long though, if he goes there at all.
Jovan Grujicic - Undrafted
Since declaring himself eligible for the draft a month ago, he's pretty much been a ghost. He has had time to earn TPE and show teams he can be a productive member, however he's done nothing to show he'd be a dedicated member to any team. At this point, he's barely a filler player for the DSFL, even. Unless he returns, avoid at all costs.
Wide Receiver
Trey Willie - Round 1
Willie was picked up by the Otters early to mid season and although he had a slow start, he finished very strong with 261 yards and 4 TDs. That may not seem like much, but when you consider that he shared the field with Phelps, Westfield and Wright, and still managed to get those numbers as a redshirt WR3, you know he's going to eventually be a solid player for someone. He's active and almost every team could benefit having him around.
Samuel Zhang - Round 3
Although he only recently declared himself eligible for the draft, he's shown a lot of activity and drive. He might not start S3 in the NSFL, and be a top receiver in the DSFL, but that more than likely will not be how he finishes S3. If his activity can be maintained, he's another Trey Willie type receiver who can make a splash as a WRs once he gets enough TPE under his belt.
Brian Wheat - Round 4
Brian Wheat's activity has dipped in the past week, but that could be because he's playing coy to land on his preferred team, the Sabercats. He was picked up by them early in S2 and played fairly well in his 9 games with the team. Even if he's delegated to the DSFL, he's not going to be there very long as he's got a good chance at being called up if he can get his TPE higher. There's risk though since he's been inactive for a week.
Jaquan Young - Round 7
A recent add to the S3 draft, I feel he'll be drafted because he's not inactive. Activity alone gets people on a roster and signed. He'll almost certainly be in the DSFL and get an opportunity to shine there for a year or two before he's pulled up and placed on a professional roster.
Nate Atasuke - Round 8
Again, another recent entrant into the S3 draft. He might go undrafted but he is worth a last round pick because he's been active since signing up. Another project for the DSFL, but that's completely fine. A lot of guys in this draft will end up there, and if he can get a pro contract to help him out, that will significantly help his status down there.
Victor Demar - Undrafted
Another seemingly inactive player. Unless he returns, and soon, he's not going to be drafted. He signed up a week ago and has not posted since. It's hard to evaluate a person's future if they've got no present. He might go in the DSFL draft purely because of need to fill positions, but I don't expect him to flourish unless he comes back.
Tight End
Sebastian Joyce - Round 3
Out of the 4 TE prospects, I have him ranked the highest because he is an active user from S1 and 2 who retired a very solid player. Activity won't be a question so that boosts his stock alone. He goes in Round 3, for me, because of how little TPE he has but his floor is high so, teams will be confident to take him early despite that.
Joseph Askins - Round 6
None of the TE prospects redshirted so it is hard to rank them after Joyce. I have Askins going next because he's been active since he joined up. Although his archetype is Blocking TE, proper TPE allocation can still make great use of the player. He might be a DSFL guy for a couple years though.
Charlie Law - Round 8
Based upon activity, he deserves to be drafted. However TE isn't a massive needed position. There are teams who need one, but most have one with more TPE than a fresh rookie. But after half a season in the DSFL, and good TPE gains, he could be called up by any of those teams who draft him as a DSFL project to replace their current inactive TE starter. Law seems primed for this role.
Ben Hartsock - Undrafted
He's the first TE prospect to sign up for S3, however inactivity, once again, kills all interest. It's sad because there's going to be a pressing need at TE in the DSFL and a guy like Hartsock would do quite well there.
Offensive Line
Antonio Sandoval - Round 1
It's close between Antonio and Lamoreux for who is the better prospect. I went with Sandoval here because he seems to be a bit more receptive to joining any team. Antonio redshirted for the Yeti and got 30 Pancakes while allowing only 7 sacks. He's a day 1 starter for any team who needs an Offensive lineman. No need to even think about DSFL here.
Francois Lamoreux - Round 1
It's a shame there's only 8 picks in the 1st round, as he may slip into the 2nd, but I still give a 1st round grade here. Lamoreux has been very active and vocal. His loud style might deter some would be suiters, however whatever team he does play for will get a guy with an solid work ethic and could definitely be a starter very soon.
Sammy Walters - Round 2
Walters might be a steal in the second round, and if teams are high on him, he might even creep into the 1st if there's an early run on OL. Regardless of where he is picked, it will be relatively early and he's going to be a contributor very early in the season. He's only below Sandoval and Lamoreux because they're slightly more active, but as long as Walters keeps up with the TPE gains, his presence will be felt.
Jordan Danvers - Round 5
Danvers has been around longer than Sandoval, Walters and Lamoreux but his activity hasn't given way to higher TPE gains. He is still active so it could pick up. He had potential to be a high pick but sparse activity squandered that. However, his recent activity shows he can be an active guy and deserves a spot in this draft. He might be a candidate for the DSFL, though. Which is just fine, as those 6 teams will need solid O-Lineman who will anchor their line.
Archetype Smarchetype - Round 6
Since joined, he's remained active which is a great sign. He won't be on an NSFL team right away unless they have seriously deep holes. He'll be in the DSFL for a while, and be a solid player for any team lucky enough to land him.
Maybe he should invest in a name change though. His parents did him a disservice.
Jughead Jones - Round 6
He redshirted for 8 games on the Wraiths, and did well, but his TPE growth hasn't been as strong as higher prospects. He's somewhat active so he warrants a pick. He's destined for the DSFL for a year or so, and if he remains active through that, he'll be a fine addition to an NSFL squad in a couple years.
Juan Andres - Round 8
Recently registered, he's a young prospect who could be a big steal in the late rounds if he stays active. Since he's new, he's not going to fetch a very high price though. And he's gonna be in the DSFL for a season but that will showcase his skills, and the DSFL is a great place for young Lineman to flourish.
Rico Rodriguez - Round 8
I think he's worth a late pick too, like Andres. Simply because he is fresh and could stay active if given a good role on a DSFL squad. Nothing is going to prevent him from being an eventual starter if he keeps his activity up and spends his TPE wisely.
Luke Long - Undrafted
The first Offensive Lineman to declare for S3, and even played the whole season for the Legion, it's sad that they've been so inactive. It's a possibility they come back, but not being here since week 10 of the season is a bad sign. He'll be on a DSFL squad at the very least if only because he has some TPE in use.
Crith Coalrange - Undrafted
He's only made an initial post recently, and nothing since. It's only been a few days, but until activity beyond that single post occurs, I can't validate drafting him. Juan and Rico at least have done an activity check. If he suddenly gets active, he could be drafted though. Until that happens, he's only a potential DSFL draftee.
Wallace Stone - Undrafted
Like Coalrange, he's only made his player and then nothing. And they've been inactive far longer than Coalrange so he's even less of an ideal choice to pick up, either as an NSFL guy or as a DSFL project.
Defensive End
J.D. Boom - Round 1
Boom redshirted on the Hawks and was a contributor getting 40 tackles and 7 sacks. He's active and will be a solid starter for many teams. He's likely going to be a first round pick, or a very early second rounder. Almost every team can benefit with him on their roster.
Eidur Gustavsson - Round 4
This guess might be wrong, because of team needs. But they're active so they definitely will be drafted. They do not have a tremendous amount of TPE like Boom, so they'll fall a bit. But they might be an NSFL starter if they land on a team with a pressing need for a DE. Or they might be optioned to the DSFL where Eidur will likely be a top player.
Jimmy Cox - Round 7
Even though he signed up only a few days ago, depth at DE in this draft is shallow. He's going to probably be scooped up because of that and with some hope that he stays active, he could head to the DSFL and prosper. For a pick this late, he very well could be a great pickup.
Sal Ifedemi - Undrafted
I've seen a lot of people praise him and have him as the second DE on the board, but lack of activity is a bitch. I can't recommend any team draft a guy who hasn't posted in almost 3 weeks. Even with this shallow of a talent pool at this position.
Defensive Tackle
Godfrey King - Round 1
As a redshirt, King already has a trophy under his belt. He's a consensus top 5 pick and there's a handful of people who have the Outlaws picking him first overall. He's a solid DT who will be a big contributor to whatever team he gets picked by.
Ricardo Sandoval - Round 1
As an Otter, Sandoval has been one of the most active S3 prospects and because of both of those things, he's a top pick in this year's draft. He's only ranked lower than King because of the amount of TPE King has. Both players will start and play their whole careers in the NSFL and never even whiff the DSFL.
Calkewlated Chambers III - Round 2
Chambers is a very high rated prospect because he's been very active and has been keeping up on his TPE since he joined the league. He will be rewarded with a fairly early selection in the draft. He might land in the DSFL if his new team already has sufficient depth at the DT position, but I can see him being a guy that, if he is in the DSFL, being called up by season's end to start in the pros.
Shi'terrick Marks - Round 4
This profanity filter eluding DT has been pretty active as well. There's a lot of good talent at DT this season and all of them are viable starters by season's end, if not day 1. Marks might be a lot like Chambers, in that he's a potential DSFL guy for half a season and then can be called up to be a solid starter. He's only below Chambers because of the current TPE differential.
Ryan Fitzfatrick - Round 6
New to the league, Fitzfatrick has been active and shows great interest in staying here in the NSFL. A definite prospect for use in the DSFL for a season, he's got a lot of upside and will be a big force for a DSFL team, and even a possible starter come S4 for the team that picks him in this year's draft.
Ash Saginaw - Undrafted
Inactive, I don't think I need to go over the importance of being active to be a draftable prospect again, do I?
Linebacker
Brice Boggs - Round 1
Another viable pick for the first overall selection by the Outlaws. He has the most TPE out of any S3 prospect so it's a foregone conclusion he won't drop out of the first round. He's another Wraiths redshirt who made quite an impact for their team. He's a day 1 starter for every team, so whatever team takes him, he'll prosper.
Julian O'Sullivan - Round 3
Julian might actually go in the second round. It is entirely possible that they will creep into the lower half of the first because LB seems to be an almost universal need. Wherever they land, Julian will be a depth starter and with activity, by S3's end they'll be in an entrenched starter spot and valuable member to their franchise.
William Ridley - Round 4
Again, might go higher due to LB need. His activity has been very pleasing since he joined up and shows a lot of promise to contribute in any way possible. Even if that may be at the DSFL level. By season's end if he's not in the NSFL, he's going to be a candidate for the Defensive player of the year in the DSFL, for sure.
Rick Sanchez - Round 6
I'm no sure which dimension this Rick hails from, but he's prohibited from using any inventions or portal weapons on the field. Joking aside, Sanchez has been pretty active since joining. Hopefully he can make his presence felt in the DSFL and help a team there reach great heights. Maybe if he's active enough, by S4 he can be a starter for the team who drafts him in the NSFL.
James Warner - Round 6
Warner is a new player for an old user, so he's not a stranger to how the system works. I have him this low because his first character wasn't super active, but he claims he'll have more time. In addition, he's low because since he just recreated, his TPE pool is low. But he'll be a surefire starter in the DSFL for whatever franchise puts him down there.
Corner Back
Franklin Harris Jr. - Round 2
None of the CBs in this draft have a wealth of TPE, but Harris Jr is going high solely on the strength of the family name. His father was a fantastic player and there's no doubt the apple has not fallen far from the tree in respect to his football acumen. Let's hope he also didn't get the murder gene. He may not have the TPE that other top prospects have but his work ethic alone boosts him.
Benson Bayley - Round 3
Bayley has more than proven they're going to be an article writing machine, and that kind of devotion is a rarity from rookies. He's got a solid grasp of what he needs to do to succeed. He'll be a welcome addition and a good 3rd CB for any team. Should he be optioned to the DSFL, he's another candidate for Defensive player of the year there.
Artist Boogie - Round 4
Boogie has been pretty active since he found his way into the league, declaring for the draft. He should find a home in the middle rounds of the draft. CB isn't a major priority, however active members often still find homes despite teem needs in the middle rounds. Boogie will probably go to the DSFL for a while, and make a splash.
Tyler Grant - Round 4
Grant was the first CB to declare for S3, but has had bouts of inactivity. He's returned recently so he becomes instantly a mid round pick if he stays active. If he didn't come back, he'd be not even draftable. See what activity can do to draft stock?
Jonathan King - Round 5
New player to the league so he hasn't built the TPE that Grant has or the activity that Boogie has, so I have him a round lower. That said, it's an easy differential to make up and he could, with effort be a top CB in the DSFL. I was a mid round pick and I worked my way up to being one of the best Rookies of S2. Any of these guys around here could do the exact same.
Kiko Bakari - Round 7
With an interesting name like that, how can you not draft him? I have him low only because there's a decent amount of CBs and not a lot of openings for CBs, but still as a DSFL guy, he could prosper greatly. He just joined so it's difficult to gauge his activity level just yet. The above guys have been around slightly longer so we can see they at least put some effort.
Safety
Vincent Valentine - Round 6
No safety in this draft jumps out as a starter and most will be DSFL or depth. Valentine seems to have a slight edge but the edge is pretty thin. His future all depends on activity and how much TPE he can allocate to his character. I wish this former Turk the best.
Vash Erikson - Round 6
Again, no safety leaps off the pages, so I think they all get the same draft grade. It's essentially down to team interviews for those interested to decide which they want to select. It makes my job as a talent evaluator hard, since I can't tell who is better or not. But it also makes it esier because I can slap the same grade and move on.
Mitch Maslin - Round 6
The third safety, he gets the same grade as the above as he's done about the same work as Vincent and Vash. Vincent and Vash sounds like a cheesy 80s crime drama... I digress, there's not a lot to go on since all of these guys are new and figuring out which is the best is a crap shoot.
Gavin Graham - Undrafted
Finally, something to tell you. This guy has been an inactive since early August. He's not even worth looking into. If you want a safety might I recommend any of the 3 upstanding gentleman above?
Kicker
Iyah Blewitt - Round 2
I can't in good conscience put a Kicker in the first round. But it is not unfathomable. The first overall pick in the S3 Prospect Game draft could very well be a first round pick in the S3 Rookie Draft. Blewitt is definitively the best kicker in the draft and redshirted on the Legion and didn't do terribly. Kicker is a need for some teams too.
Joseph Lombardi - Round 5
Despite being the lowest rated Kicker in the draft, Sims destroyed his draft stock so Lombardi gets a default push up the ranks. Kicker is a need for some teams, and whatever team that needs a kicker and didn't get Blewitt, will have to settle for Lombardi. I don't think Lombardi will go to the DSFL, or if he does it'll be for very long. The FA pool for Kickers is shallow and any rookie Kicker can quickly overtake them. So, it is entirely possible the team that picks Lombardi keeps him in the NSFL the whole time, so that when he gets to be a comparable TPE to whatever inactive kicker they have, they can just swap him in without any DSFL delays.
Al Sims - Round 8
He's another redshirt, but he's made it crystal clear that he wants to return to his former team, the Otters. This lowers his stock because no team wants a guy who won't play for them, and if the only team who he'll play for knows he'll be there late, why go early on him? He's clearly a good talent and if the Otters fear someone will draft him out of spite, they may use an earlier pick that 8, but that seems like a pretty silly tactic for a team to take.
----
Any players who are created after this are not going to be added. This was fun and took me quite a while to write up. Again, this is a personal opinion of mine, and your team's draft boards could, and likely should, look much different than mine. I expressed my personal opinions and if you disagree with where I have you going, then prove me wrong and improve your stock!
