My path to the ISFL has been a bumpy road...well at least at the beginning it was, but now it's pretty sweet! If you're familiar with my path you'll know that I almost quit the ISFL my first month due to being overwhelmed by everything and not understanding what I was dealing with. But out of the blue, I felt bad that I was going to be drafted and that team was going to be stuck with me, So what could I do? Ask for help, So I started there, and out of everyone in the league who has been friendly to me and super helpful it's been @iStegosauruz Not only did he assist me when I was first starting out in the league but now he's my temporary Co-General Manager and I wouldn't be able to be in the position I am in right now without his help! Thank you Steg for all the assistance you've given me over the past few weeks! Your knowledge of the league is crazy and I hope to retain every bit of knowledge you pass on to me!! In return I hope we can take the BirdDogs to a championship this year!
I stumbled upon the league when I was browsing reddit one day. I decided to see what it was all about, I struggled through the forum and created a player. I was greeted almost within the hour by @katarn22 who welcomed me into the London Royals locker room. I didn’t think of how big that would be at the time. I have met some really great people since then, with @Luciddreams702 and @Sebster as my first GMs popping my DSLF cherry. Then going to NOLA with @mithrandir and @GuitarMaster116, helping to support me moving over to LB was a great move for me. Unfortunately IRL got in the way of league stuff and I had to put it on the backburner for a bit. Coming back to NOLA they were welcoming and supportive. It was a tough decision to move in FA but I wanted to see what other teams had to offer with my first player. I made the decision to go to Philly this past offseason and Lucid along with @negs have been great. There is an amazing LR of tenured legends that exist within Philly and I can't wait to see what this team is capable of.
If I dedicate this point task solely to buttering up members of HO can I get more than 3 points for it? ...No? Dang. Worth a shot.
Actually before I start saying nice things, I need to call out two users who have upset me recently: @slate and @"Gbeck765". When these two great guys took over leadership of the Orange County Otters they 1) made me want to like the Otters and 2) made it that much more difficult for Sarasota to win another Ultimus. Their dedication and leadership are sure to make the Otters a formidable squad for seasons to come. That is annoying. Extremely. Annoying. Speaking of outstanding GMs, I should not fail to mention the reigning ISFL GMs of the Year, @abh89 and @Fronk. It was abh and Fronk's predecessor @Mojojojo who made the call the bring Spike Daniels to Sarasota in the 1st round of the S31 draft, and I hope that I've rewarded their confidence in me and my player! I appreciate that abh and Fronk offered me a generous contract extension to stay in Sarasota for the rest of Spike's career, and I hope he continues to do great things for the Sailfish. Maybe even get that elusive ring... I only regret that Hershel Andrews and Tyson Steele couldn't be more successful together in the WSBL. RIP Vegas Volts, we hardly knew ye. Oh, and speaking of Mojo, I know she's going to go a tremendous job as a DSFL HO intern, and as the DSFL Awards Chairperson I'm looking forward to working with her in her new role! I'm very happy to see that the ISFL continues to enjoy an influx of outstanding new users who bring great energy to the league. So let me acknowledge @DREAMSLOTH @Gadget @Twenty6 @Jaywe88 and @domffl to name only a few. And @g2019 of course. Love you dude!
Joining the league I've met a variety of people over the time I've been here. First up we have @negs many people call him stinky (tis true but don't tell him that) who gave me a great scouting conversation and I knew I wanted to join Norfolk pretty quickly so I could get to know negs more and I've since had some great convos with him.
As well as that the other gm who drafted me and I got to gm with for a few seasons @"Gbeck765" is a great user and no wonder why he got the OCO Job (beware slate when he goes to the zoo on draft day). Thanks for hiring me as a gm and giving me a very fun 3 seasons of gaming. Additionally i want to thank @abh89 for drafting me to the best team in the ISFL the Sailfish. he's put up with some of my abnormal behaviour and i look forward to seeing the many fish slap gifs over the next few seasons (Thanks Chicago for the first one).
@Kotasa - Dude is great as soon as I joined the team he was super nice and helped me to get started with tasks and he's just an insane coach the success speak for itself.
@dude_man - another great coach super helpful with getting me started and just all around really fun to talk to. @WildfireMicro - They are really dope they are not only a great person but they're the ones that showed me the league so with out them there is no Adam Rage (the football version) @Jaywe88 - From our first talk when I joined the league they helped me find out immediately I wanted to join Tijuana super chill and fun to talk to and I think they are a really good choice for the GM spot in Tijuana. @PBS - They are also a great fit for GM super helpful and another great person. Lastly the Tijuana LR as a whole This is a great locker room with a lot of great people to talk to and history in general the chemistry is unmatched and like I said with Kotasa the success speaks for itself.
I imagine I won't be the only person to do this but this will be an ode to @Tesla. Tesla has to be one of the best sim users that has ever participated in these sim leagues. Ever since I've met Tesla she's just been an immense positive force for leagues, starting with her rookie season and the incredible media that was produced. I was extremely lucky to be teammates with Tesla, who was one of my favorite people to share a locker room with. The time appropriate greetings were always brightening up my day and it generally was just great to hang with Tesla in the New Orleans locker room. Tesla was the ideal teammate in the sim and off the field on discord. Not only that, but Tesla has given a lot to the league across many jobs. I don't know if a better media grader will ever exist! Add on GM-ing duties and you really have a power user in the league. So when you add in being the nicest person ever, it really is no surprise that Tesla is one of my favorite people across all of these leagues.

I want to say thank you to @Kotasa for drafting me in Tijuana and helping me figure out what I was doing while I was there, and then following me to Arizona when I got called up to make sure I don't get lost in the big league. It was very kind of him to take an ISFL GM job just to make sure I had a helping hand. He has been very helpful to me while I've been figuring things out in this league, and always hypes us up for games. I'm glad I got to win an Ultimini in Tijuana while he was there as GM (fun fact: that was the first dev league championship I've won in any sim league, and I've been doing this for over three years now, so that was pretty special). I also want to shout out @Opera_Phantom for always reminding me to do my PTs, and @Z-Whiz for helping me so much in fantasy, because I truly would have no idea what to do in fantasy otherwise and I even won TPE doing it last season.
Okay, back to my persona of wanting to devour everyone's souls.
I have nice things to say about a lot of the Sarasota talent in the front office, who have gotten the team to become competitive every year. Frostbite made the call to draft me, it was obviously a good call, I fit in well with the Sarasota LR, and I feel Frost did a great job leading the troops tactically to Ultimus glory, which is the main reason I wanted to be drafted by any team.
Then abh took up the torch, and has done a good job directing my player through the two most productive seasons of his career in Season 34 and 35. Sarasota had a 7-9 season due to RNG during his tenure, but other than that, we've been competitive every year. I've got no issues with Sarasota management, and it's good that I'll retire as a one-club legend for the team that got a ring and a few franchise records. Also shoutouts to Stumpy Jones's user (insert sport here)iscool for staying as a stable part of the team and LR, and doing an awesome job setting up the team with his franchise capabilities at Left Tackle, shutting down the team's best edge rusher and giving the QB time to find Saleem Spence.
