(S37) PT 5 - Thinking Ahead

For Teenie, this offseason will be all about the draft process. There's the combine and then some private workouts and interviews with teams. The whole offseason will be built around doing the best possible in the combine and work outs to try to boost the draft stock a little bit. In my head cannon all the scouting conversations are mini work outs or visits with ISFL teams. I've aways fount it interesting the teams that scout you early or have a more in depth conversation with are usually the ones that will have you higher on their boards.I think based on how the board looks now Teenie would most likely attend the draft in person as a fringe 1st rounder. Maybe not, who wants to be the last in the green room. Outside of the draft, Teenie will be chilling on the beach somewhere waiting for the season to start. Maybe finish a book or two that's been recommended.

Mikey McTurtle is lucky that he plays in his home state of New York so that he does not have to go far when the season is over and his offseason begins.  He'll start it off by visiting his old master Splinter in the sewers of New York City.  It'll be good to see him and get more training ideas for the offseason.  Hopefully some of the other McTurtle brothers will be there too because it would be good to see them outside of the context of the football field.  Mikey would make sure to eat all of his favorite local pizza while he was around and he would get some workouts down in the old sewer hangouts.  He would also want to get away from a while to recharge, so he would probably head across the border into Canada to a cabin to get some secluded alone time.  He wouldn't be there for too long though as he definitely needs to get back to the team training facilities to train.  In between training it will just be relaxing as much as he can because he knows he doesn't get much of that in season.

With my player just joining the league, my offseason will primarily be focused on getting ready for the draft and next season. This is going to include lots of kicking, working out, stretching, and conditioning. I need to be in the best place I can be so that whoever I end up with is getting a top-notch kicker! While this will take up a lot of my player's time, it can't be all work and no play. Some traveling is definitely in the books. Maybe a backpacking trip through Eastern Europe? Possibly even an Alaskan cruise? Too many options with not enough time. I definitely foresee some family time for my player as well. With the long and tiring season ahead, some relaxing time spent with family and friends will be needed. Lastly, my player would like to be involved in some charity work for the city of his new team. Being apart of the community is just as important as being on the field.

As Brian Duke’s first DSFL season is nearly at an end, he is looking to quite a few things in the offseason. The first thing on Brian Duke’s mind is the DSFL awards. He hopes to play his butt off the last two games of the DSFL season so he can win an All-Pro and Pro Bowl selection. After the DSFL season is officially over and all awards and games are concluded, Brian Duke will be focused on making money to get himself beyond the 250 TPE threshold before the ISFL draft. He plans on creating a long an exhaustive deep dive on his rookie DSFL season to get the big off-season media bucks. After he obtains enough money to improve, he plans to buy equipment and weekly trainings so he can quickly rise above 250 TPE and cement his place in the S38 draft class as a top earner. Brian Duke doesn’t believe in long expensive vacations, so he will have a staycation at his Boston home with his family awaiting his call to an ISFL team.

Xavier is definitely looking forward to getting to spend time traveling to different areas of the country. He has a goal to be in all 50 states for at least a week and has only hit 20 so far. So this season he'll be heading to Montana, Wyoming, Iowa, and Nevada to continue to work on his list. He is looking forward to the local food specialties and partaking in the various nightlife activities that each state can offer. Additionally, seeing the normal tourist sites and parks that you would expect someone from out of state to see. 

In addition to travels, he plans to spend more time with his wife and child at home just enjoying the quiet. You don't often think about the insane amount of time missed due to football so it's good to take a step back and just enjoy some boredom with the family. With this done, Xavier will be ready for another great season and hopefully some better stats!

The standard rookie contract in the ISFL lasts 3 . Most players will spend the first season on this contract down in the DSFL and the second will be their rookie year. That means players have just one more season after getting up to speed in the pros to stake their claim for a big second contract, either with their first team or with another. So what does Mandrews McHollywood plan on doing this offseason? He plans on training! McHollywood expects to have his first full season at WR1 next year and he’ll need a new contract after that so there’s no time for sun and games. Mandrews will get all the training he’s legally allowed to do and buy up that sweet sweet tier 6 equipment the first minute he can. Hopefully all that work will pay off and New York will be able to celebrate the arrival of their first true #1 receiver fully bred in the Silverbacks system, instead of signed or traded for from somewhere else.

With the end of the season rapidly approaching, there's no doubt a lot on the minds of players. But do you know what the most pressing matter of all on their mind is? What's your player going to do during the offseason?! For this PT, describe what sort of activities your player is looking forward to partaking in when the season is over. Will they take a trip out of country? Participate in a celebrity boxing match? Maybe even spend a few months learning black magic to curse a rival team? The possibilities are limitless!

Cliche as it might be, my main goal this offseason is to work to improve myself and my teammates. We've performed a lot worse this year than last year, and I definitely haven't played better like I was hoping. I'm not doing worse, but taking over the CB1 position for Siege Cameron after last year has definitely led to more challenging matchups. I want to take this offseason to work over the weak areas in my game that I've noticed this year - working to contend better against receivers to get to the ball, work on my tackling form to wrap up better and miss fewer tackles, and maybe see if I can improve my endurance a bit. I also want to try and help my teammates train along with me and improve in their own way in the offseason if they're interested - I think Austin has a future with a lot of good young players, but that leaves us in need of getting more experienced in a hurry if we want to be contenders for the playoffs. Being close last year and then falling to being locked in as the first draft pick feels bad and I definitely want us to get better for next season.

During the coming offseason, Aleksandr Milescu is most looking forward to taking a trip back to London.  His fans may remember the long and chaotic route he took last minute after being called up by Philly, and in the mess that ensued he did not have enough time to pack up.  Because of that most of his belongings are still back in his rental flat in London.  Once the season ends (whether that be regular season, playoffs, or an Ultimus win!) he wants to go back both to pack up as well as visit the new generation of Royals.  His first league memories were made there and a number of current players and even alumni can often be found around the groups, even in the offseason.  It will be a nice break from the competition of the league to meet up with former teammates somewhere other than on the field in the ISFL.
