14. Expansion Expansion Expansion! Tell us why you think the league should expand / not expand or include any ideas (in words) for team branding ideas you have or team locations.
There are many reasons why the ISFL should expand/should not expand. One reason that the ISFL should expand is that it would generate more openings for in-demand positions. More opportunities would be available for people to take a GM role or to be able to play QB in the ISFL. More people would be able to see what their player looks like as a QB or what they could do as a GM. Another reason that the ISFL should expand is that it will give more room to truly be an international league. Currently, the only team not in Europe or North America is the Cape Town Crash, which was only recently moved from Philadelphia. It also opens more cool team names like the Tokyo Shoguns, the Melbourne Marauders, or the Sao Paolo Samba. If a team exists on every continent, then the ISFL will truly be international. Having more locations represented worldwide makes it more attractive for international users to stick around since they would feel more represented where otherwise the NFL wouldn’t have franchises in locations that represent the rest of the world. Having 20 teams would make scheduling easier as well, if there are 4 divisions of 5 teams each. Teams could play each team in their division twice, everyone else in their conference, and a division in another conference for 17 games.
There are also many reasons why the ISFL shouldn’t expand just yet. The first reason is that there aren’t enough players at some positions to fill out some positions. Positions like OL are already hard to come by, and having a few more teams would make it a bit more difficult for teams to find more quality offensive linemen. In addition, there aren’t enough players in the league to help fill out the team at other positions and players will need to play against bots, which would make for some uneven and unfair games.
19. Your team has announced that they will be laying ground on a new stadium next season. What additions would you like to see included in it. (Written Task)
For the new stadium, I would like to see natural grass, and not artificial turf. This reduces injuries and allows more players to have a longer ISFL career. I would also like to see a really slick locker room that has all the bells and whistles. A locker with plenty of room, a ping pong table, charging ports, lots of room for cleats and other swag, and all the recovery items that are needed to recover from a long day of playing football. I would also like to see more space for nutrition and options to relax after a game. For the fans, I would love to see more entertainment options for them and have a slick arena that the fans would be proud to call home. I also would like the stadium to be open to performing work for numerous charities when there are no ISFL games that are currently being played at the new stadium.
27. Imagine your current position was not available to be picked when you created your player. What other position would you have picked, and why?
If Wide Receiver was not available, I would have picked Defensive End. As a Defensive End, we get to make game-changing sacks that affect the outcome of the game, and Defensive Ends don’t face as much pressure as QB’s but they can still make epic game winning strip sacks and can have incredible moments of glory for the team. It is also the second most important position on the football field and have incredible value in the ISFL. It is also a super fun position to play and getting sacks is one of the most satisfying feelings in football. There are also many different players in the league that seem to have a lot of fun playing the position. You can also have funny names for a Defensive End with puns relating to sacks. Overall, it is a low-risk fun position to play and if I had to recreate, I would recreate as a Defensive End.
