Hello ISFL. I'd like to introduce you to my bid for the 39th Ultimus Bowl Host City: Marrakesh! Marrakesh is the fourth largest city in the Kingdom of Morrocco in North Africa. Established late in the 11th century of the common era, Marrakesh has long been a center of trade and culture for the the Maghreb and much of Africa as a whole. The city is perhaps best known for the historic square and market in the city's medina quarter, Jemaa el-Fnaa. Jemaa el-Fnaa remains the busiest square in the continent and one of the most iconic in the world. The market houses a wide variety of traders, craftspeople, and entertainers for the benefit of locals and tourists.
For the game itself the Grand Stade de Marrakech, completed in 2012, would host the matchup between the ASFC and NSFC champions. The 45,000+ capacity stadium has hosted a number of international sporting events, including the 2014 Club World Cup finals and will be a great location to culminate the celebration of simulation of football to be hosted in Marrakesh.
Our pitch logo takes its design cues from different elements from Jemaa el-Fnaa. The centerpiece combines the Ultimus logo with the silhouette of the tower of the Kutubiyya Mosque which stands over the market square. This centerpiece is colored with different colorful patterns that might be found from different textile vendors in the square. The background mimics the tops of tented stalls in the market square.
I hope you enjoy this bid and vote to see the Ultimus Bowl come to Marrakesh this season.
