Not the kind of start we wanted to start the season but that doesn't mean we can let our foot off the gas now, we need to buckle down more than ever and make sure we're putting in one hundred percent every game. We got a tough couple of games coming up and I know it's a hell of a lot easier to be lazy and try and get away with a loss and worry about it come crunch time but if we can grind out these tough games and come out on top it'll feel a hell of a lot more satisfying when we make the playoffs again! And I know that everyone has been working their butts off and I know these outcomes haven't been showing how amazing we've been playing but I promise you if we keep up this tempo I know that come playoff time we're going to be more than ready!

Look at me! Look at me.
I know you guys are down - I get it. we just lost 2 straight, and that hurts. Hell, watching old man Cue out there trying to run is a waking nightmare. Like watching a bear cub trying to wake its dead mother. Sad, but you can't look away. Well, you have to. I have to, and that old bum is taking my touches. Stay off social media, too. You're going to see nothing but Second Line players crowing about how it's their year. You know, like they do every year. You've seen it, you know what's out there. Keep focused. This is pretty much the same group that just won two straight rings. Dropping two games won't kill us unless you allow it to. And yes, I know it's Honolulu next, but nothing is guaranteed. Wendell! I see you at the back writing your Hall of Fame speech. Close the Notes app and get with the team. We have to come together on this. Outlaws on me, Outlaws on 3. 1, 2, 3...
Alright Wraiths, we have been looking good. Yeah we barely won vs the Sailfish, but both of us were undefeated and we handed them thier first L of the season. We had 3 straight shutouts in one of the best stretches of defensive football I have ever seen. Our two headed monsters of running backs have also helped out a lot, and we have looked pretty damn dominant. Of course, we are all well aware that we could get sim screwed at anytime. Hell, it almost happened against Sarasota. However our gem of a kicker managed to kick a 50+ yarder right through the uprights in overtime to help lead us to victory.
Look, I do not expect at all for us to end the season undefeated. Way too many variables for that. However I know we can make a lot of noise in the rest of the season and I would love for us to stay motivated and stay dominant. We are the Wraiths, and we have come to haunt this league!
Wraiths, we have a great start to the season! We are undefeated at 5-0! We can't rest on our laurels or get complacent, however. 4 of our wins have come against teams with losing records, and we just barely squeaked out a win against our arch nemesis the Sarasota Sailfish with a field goal to win 37-34 in overtime. Offense, you have been doing a great job exploiting our opponents weaknesses. If they expect a run, we pass. If they expect a pass, we run. Maybe not the most dynamic offense in the league, but underestimate our offense at your own risk! Defense, ya'll have been on point all season, giving up a league low 47 points that includes 3 consecutive shutouts! We don't need any standouts as we have a defense where everyone steps up and does their job. If someone is struggling, someone else picks up the slack. Lets keep this up all season so we can reach the ultimate goal: Hoisting the Ultimus trophy!

Do I have to do all the bloody work around here? It feels like I'm the only one contributing on defense. The rest of you need to show some grit and start making plays. Me a Defenseive end is averaging 5 tackles and a sack a game. what are the rest of you doing? We can't be allowing 30 plus points. and we've done that twice this season. that is no way a championship team should be playing. We definitely won't be back to back champions if we allow that to happen again. We need to start playing smart football. The offense is pulling their weight. Now we we need to pull ours. The offense has scored 20+ points every game. Its not a big request that we the defense buckle in and hold teams to under 20. if we do that then we should cruise to another easy championship. Lets go Coyotes!
ok listen up defense- we've been attrocious to start the year weve been giving up too many big plays to some mediocre teams. We need to start focusing and playing hard out there. take every rep in practice like its a real game. I know we can be better and we just need to come together and communicate more effectively. We have a lot of young guys mixed in with some vets, us vets need to be showing these new guys how we play ball here in cape town. No more stupid penalties, not playing through the whiste and blaming someone else for mistakes, we play as a team, we win and we lose as a team. I'll let the offensive guys talk about their side of the ball but we gotta do whatever we can to give them some breathing room so we can start closing out games down the stretch. family on three, family on me...1.2.3.

Make a motivational speech to try and get your teammates or your player's teammates fired up for the rest of the season. The final whistle blows and the Fire Salamanders droop off to the locker room. They just lost their 4th game of the season, 3rd in a row and 2nd home lose in a row. After a hot season in the Fire Salamanders made the Ultimus final, they are now struggling hard. Octavio Pérez feels the defeated spirits in the locker room and decides to step up. "Come on lads, we are better than this. Last season we were Ultimus finalists and this year we are hanging our heads down low. We have a new quarterback and as a rookie he needs some extra support from everyone. Offensive line you need to step it up protecting him from rushers, runners need to be extra steadfast when taking over the ball. Us wide receivers need to step it up to give all the best opportunies. Defense we need to be sharper, faster, stronger. This will not happen overnight of course, but I want us to keep working hard and to keep improving throughout the season. This season might not be pretty, but if we keep on working hard we can make serious impacts soon. Everyone get together and lets give out a battle roar." [202 words] |
