It's the start of the new season, and you know what that means? Dealing with the media! However, this time a reporter asked a question that really struck a bad chord with you! For this PT, describe what question it was and how you responded to it. Was it something about your play from last season? Were you involved in some kind of scandal during the off-season? Anything to help how you were able to overcome this awkward encounter!

I was asked how much of a fluke our record last season was and that really felt bad. I think we've been really building a quality team in the last few seasons with a great core of hard-working players and leadership that's building to be good for at least a couple years. Sure, we aren't looking quite as good at the start of the year as we did last year with some stumbles in losing to the Outlaws and letting Honolulu put up 30 points, but I absolutely believe we're a strong team that will do well this year. We have a great offense, especially with Newman doing well. Our D-line is the best it's been in a while, and obviously I think we have great cornerbacks. We absolutely still have room to get better and I do think it's going to be a challenging conference this year, but I think we have a really solid chance to make the playoffs again. That would be the first time Austin has made the playoffs 2 years in a row in quite some time, so I really do think that writing off last year as a fluke is not correct.

What kind of question is that? What do you mean was being a quarter back too hard for me? Get out of here with that noise. I do what I do because it is my career. The team needed some help at safety, so here I am. In the end, the goal is to be on a winning team, so if they ask me to play a different position you know I am going to do it. I like winning too much to let my ego get in the way. That being said, I was having difficulties hanging on to the ball to make throws on time. Apparently in my years and years of being a chef, I have developed slippery hands through all the oil I have used and accidentally spilled all over my hands. I have talked with multiple doctors and there is no cure for it. I will forever have slippery hands. Luckily at safety I do not need to catch the ball as I can just get my ole slipperness on it and smack the ball. And after I get my hands on the ball, it will make it harder for the other team to hang on to the ball as well. I see it as a win-win. Suck it mister reporter.

"Dax, after an amazing season two years ago why did you plummet back to Earth last season? Do you feel like you peaked and are now on the downside of your career?"

Two years ago was magical, no doubt. Not only did I play the best individual football of my career, but the team was able to make some noise in the postseason. I think, honestly, I was chasing that same feeling last year. I was pressing. Trying to force things to happen instead of letting the game come to me. But I took time this offseason to reflect and re-center myself. I buried myself underground in upstate New York to block out all the noise and really try to get back to being me, you know. I heard that's what people are doing now. I was also going to try ayahuasca but apparently some other football player bought it all up.

Anyway, to answer your question that was clearly meant to incite an emotional response: No, I'm not on the downside of my career. Let me tell you something, I haven't even begun to peak. And when I do peak, you'll know. Because I'm gonna peak so hard that everybody in New York's gonna feel it.

Octavio Pérez is a big Magic the Gathering head and likes to share this with the people on his social media and his twitch stream where he sometimes plays Magic. This past offseason Pérez had been on the hunt for some rare alpha cards, specifically the mox gemstone cards. Via via Pérez had come in contact with someone who claimed to own a play set of every Alpha Mox card and was looking to sell it on. Not only that, but he also claimed to have a Black Lotus.

Pérez was overjoyed at the prospect of owning these cards and agreed to buy the cards from this person. As he had been recommended this person through good friends, Pérez let down his guard and did not take the necessary precautions to make sure the cards were legit.

In the end the cards ended up being fakes, which of course broke the news as Pérez shared this with his online following.

In the first press conference of the season, Pérez had hoped this topic would not be touched. However he was quickly cornered and questioned how he could have been so foolish to buy these cards without having them professionally looked at.

Pérez ended up storming out of the media conference.
