NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ — In a stunning turn of events this morning, highly touted wide receiver prospect and member of the S41 ISFL Draft Wolfeschlegelsteinhausenbergerdorff McDummy Jr. announced that he would be immediately switching to the quarterback position and wishes to be drafted on his skills as a QB. This was wholly unexpected by the league community, leading team scouts and draft mockers to panic and send McDummy Jr. way down the board. While McDummy Jr. was projected to be a first round pick by many league experts, his projection has now fallen to mid-4th round at best.
Notably McDummy Jr.'s human, Wolfeschlegelsteinhausenbergerdorff McDummy Sr., was forced into a position switch from Wide Receiver to Quarterback in the days leading up to his ISFL draft.
"It is truly incredible how time is a flat circle," said McDummy Sr. "I'm of course very disappointed in Junior for going through with this - I trained him specifically to not be bullied by ISFL GMs into switching positions to fill a need. He has talent at the wideout position and I'd hate to see him squander it by throwing pick sixes like I did." McDummy Sr. then blamed this on the San Jose Sabercats, though it is important for readers to know that he blames everything on the Sabercats after his back-to-back stunning Ultimus defeats to them.
McDummy Jr.'s mentor, Micycle McCormick, was another league legend who was forced into a position swap by ISFL GMs. He seemed a little more supportive and a bit flummoxed at the fact history repeated itself.
"It's like poetry, it rhymes," said McCormick, "perhaps we really should have expected an announcement like this."
