If I was lucky enough to win commissioner for a day, I would implement one rule to help keep player progression moving when life events come up. I would call this rule the vacation week rule. The premise of this rule is that everyone has something in life that comes up, whether it be planned like a vacation or something unplanned. I propose that for one calendar week every two seasons players are allowed to claim a "vacation week". This week would allow for individuals to not complete any of the weekly PT tasks but still get some credit for them. For example, the vacation week could give the user the mode TPE earned for the week for the weekly ISFL games predictions. I feel that this would allow players to keep earning when something comes up without giving them so many TPE points that it becomes worth it to just declare vacation weeks all the time.
Overall I think the key benefit of this rule is the leniency it provides to users who have real life events come up during the course of a season. This lets them mitigate some of the concern of falling behind by still earning TPE for the time they were absent. Our league has many individuals who either quit or restart after missing some time and thus TPE, so this could help us mitigate some of the issues we see. Further, I think allowing players to take this vacation week once every two seasons would prevent abuse of the system and users just skating by to earn some TPE. As commissioner for the day, I still would want to discuss this with other members of the head office as we need to agree on how often this week should be allowed. I could see moving it up to as high as once every 4 seasons, or keeping it at 2 seasons but only allowing for one sim week to count as the vacation.

I want to call out the season that Willier Miller of the Sarasota Sailfish had in season 41 of the ISFL. Miller was a rookie QB which is always a difficult position to play in our sim league. However, Miller did not let his rookie status get in the way as he had an absolutely outstanding first season in the ISFL. He led the league in passing yards by being the only QB to to throw for over 5000 yards in the season. Alongside this he had a 3.2 touchdown to interception ratio and lead the league in passer rating (again the only QB to break the 100 mark in this category). Miller's best game of the season easily came in week 10 when he played against the Chicago Butchers. In this game Miller threw for over 460 yards while also completing over 78 percent of his passes on they day. The big highlight came on an 80 yard pass to Entreri (another rookie) as the sailfish just thoroughly destroyed the butcher 51 to nothing. Miller was easily the best player not just on his team but in the whole league this season which is just simply astounding for a rookie QB given the way our sim works. Despite his performance, the Sailfish only managed a 9 and 7 record. This was largely due to an inefficient run game and one of the weaker defenses in the ISFL. If the Sailfish are able to surround Miller with some more talent they will be a force to be reckoned with moving forward.
I would also love to give one bonus shoutout to Ian Cole of the New York Silverbacks. The kicker had a world class season hitting over 96 percent of his field goals including both attempts from over 50 yards. A major weapon that deserves a shout out even though he plays a less loved position.
