18. This task is exclusive to recreate/non-recreate rookies of the S43 class and later. The season is over and the draft is coming up. What do you bring to a team, and why should a team choose to take a chance on you next season?

As a brand new rookie to this league who's waiting to be drafted, I plan to excel against the competition and be one of the top TPE earners in my draft class. I'm already getting ahead of many of the other rookies, and plan to keep it that way by being consistent with engagement from point tasks, media, activity checks, and constantly updating my player. I'm also open to switching positions to help the team however I can. I have already applied to a few jobs out of the gate and expect to have one as soon as possible, not only to show my dedication to being the best but also to help the league function. I bring an interesting knowledgeable character to any team's locker room and definitely have enjoyed the conversations I've had in a few of the servers. If you are looking for a max earner who takes initiative and someone who wants to win as many championships/awards as possible in both the DSFL and ISFL (along with making a hefty amount of cash to spend), then you should take a chance on me. I believe once the season is done I'll easily be top 3 in TPE/stats from this large rookie class and hopefully have been on a championship-winning team!

26. if your player wasn't a professional in the ISFL/DSFL, what would they be doing instead?

Orange Julius was a creation made by his father Orenthal James Julius, an Orange Julius worker, who named him due to his love of his favorite drink at the place he worked at. If for some reason Orange Julius was unable to play in the big leagues, he would have finished his degree at Syracuse University and gone to get an MBA from Harvard in Food/Beverage Hospitality. Afterward, he would end up opening as many Orange Julius stores as possible, expanding into other regions including internationally as is his dream after he retires in the first place. Orange Julius was meant to play football as an ode to his dad after his tragic death during his Junior year season. If he was unable to continue I believe Orange would make his mark on the business world, along with opening a foundation in his dad's honor called "The OJ Foundation" which splits its funds between two groups, people who get scurvy due to a lack of Vitamin C, and Orange Julius workers who want to expand their skills or attend college for the first time.

27. Imagine your current position was not available to be picked when you created your player. What other position would you have picked, and why?

I would have switched to the quarterback as it was my player's initial dream. However, after reading the disclaimer about QB progression, I decided to go with WR. If WR was not available I would end up playing QB and proving them all wrong. Orange Julius is 6'5" tall and can see over every offensive lineman. He would have been a field general, directing players to open gaps in coverage and making plays through audibles at the line of scrimmage. He is also 235 lbs, and just like many large QBs, it would be harder to take him down. Also, he would have prioritized speed and agility workouts so he could escape from any defensive lineman or defensive ends who make it through the line and still manage to make a play. I also had considered moving to safety as Orange Julius is so tall that he could stop almost any red zone play or be waiting back to protect any deep balls from being completed.

29. What team do you think has the best branding in the league? Why?

In my opinion, for the ISFL, I really like the branding of the Austin Copperheads. I'm slightly biased as I used to live in Austin and if we ever had an expansion team, the Copperheads would be a great name. The snake itself is very detailed and the color scheme of almost a turquoise blue and brown I think is unique and underutilized by teams across sim leagues and in real life. Plus the star in the background which I assume is for Texas, the Lone Star State, makes total sense. Also, the silver colors for the name are balanced quite well with the rest of the graphic. The snake strikes fear into the hearts of its enemies, and you better hope it doesn't bite you, or you'll be left wounded on the field as well as wounded on the scoreboard. Overall, while there are many different brandings I like in the league including those in the DSFL (which I refuse to talk about so as to not hurt my draft stock), the Copperheads are the current winner for me.

On the field, Trent Thigpen brings one thing first - his motor. He never takes a down off, relentlessly wearing down the opposing offensive line until eventually they are both mentally and physically beaten down. His work ethic continues not just on the field but off the field as well. His work towards becoming a better football player is just as relentless spending hours in the facilities making sure he maximizes both his physical training in the gym and his mental training in the film room.  In the locker room, Trent Thigpen is friendly and supportive, but a motivator and a leader too. He wants to win and he will do what it takes to make sure his guys are just as bought in as he is. He’s not just a great guy when it comes to football though. His father is a volunteer firefighter who taught him from a young age the importance of service, loyalty and being active in his community.

21. Written Option: If your player had a show starring them, what would the plot be?

Trent Thigpen actually has been working on a TV deal, though he is currently letting Fox and NBC battle it out in contract negotiations to win the rights. The title is Trent Thigpen’s Taste Tests in a completely original show idea where Trent will travel the country (and perhaps even the world) going to different restaurants and tasting they’re most famous foods. He won’t just taste the food however. Once he gets to try their infamous dish, he will head back to the kitchen and learn just how it’s made with the chef. After he has learned how they make it, he will add his own personal variation or addition to the dish either by modifying how it is prepared or by adding a new ingredient. Trent will serve up samples in blind taste tests to new customers to see if they enjoy the original dish or his personal take on the dish. The restaurants of course agreeing to add his personal take to their menu in addition to the original dish if it does in fact get more votes from new customers.


26. if your player wasn't a professional in the ISFL/DSFL, what would they be doing instead? (Written Task or Graphic Task)

They would be a professional chef and a volunteer firefighter. While Trent much prefers doing his cooking on the football field, you can still find him cheffing it up in the kitchen for fun in his free time. Get a peek into his youtube watch history and all you’ll find is cooking show after cooking show. His passion for food mostly stems from when he first hit puberty and was learning the importance of nutrition for physical fitness. While his father tried to get him to focus on the macros and micros and getting enough protein and calories for what his body needed, Trent realized if he was going to need to spend as much time worrying about what he was eating, he might as well learn how to make his food tasty too. His friends might have managed to eat loads of unseasoned chicken breast and brown rice everyday, but he was going to enjoy the food he had to eat to get bigger. Although the position of professional chef is very demanding, Trent is going to the DSFL (and one day the ISFL) because of his type A personality and desire to stay busy and working hard. That’s why, beyond his regular job to make income as a chef, he also would volunteer as a firefighter just like his father. That would keep him busy and give him the opportunity to make a difference in his community.

27. Imagine your current position was not available to be picked when you created your player. What other position would you have picked, and why? (Written Task)


If defensive tackle was not a position to select when I created my player, I think I likely would have chosen to create a safety. I knew I wanted to be on the defensive side of the ball, because as a Steelers fan in real life I have always appreciated a defense first approach to football. Now the main reason I chose DT is because Cam Heyward is my favorite active NFL player. If I wasn’t to go that route and play the same position as him, I would instead want to play the same position as my all time favorite player - Troy Polamalu. Troy was a one of a kind player, from his diving fingertip interceptions to his perfect timings of the snap to the time he ruined Pat McAfee’s day. It would be fun to see if I could build a player that produces in any similar way to Troy, but unfortunately I think the sort of unique and intangible/instinctual style that Troy brought to the game is something that might be impossible to recreate in a simulated setting.

As an aspiring kicker, I thought it would be interesting to take a look back at the best season for a kicker ever. For that honor, I single out legendary kicker Stephen Harris and his season 7 performance to highlight what near-perfection looks like. Not only did he make the most field goals ever by a kicker but he also didn’t miss a single field goal in those 42 tries. In large part because of his remarkable season, The Liberty would go on to win the championship 28-17 to bring the title to Philadelphia. But let’s take a look back on this historic season and what made it so great.

For the past three seasons leading up to season 7, Stephen Harris had made his mark in the kicking world and it was in large part because of him that they had improved since season 4. By season 6 the Liberty had made it to the championship and season 7 looked to be their year. The team started off slow and so did Harris as they got warmed up in the preseason. Harris would miss 3 kicks in their 4-game preseason and the team would go on to lose 2 of those games. But once the regular season started Harris entered a new gear. And week 1 saw the future championship game as the Liberty battled the Otters. Harris’ first test came in the first quarter on a 47-yard field goal that he drilled to get the Liberty on the board 3-7. He would only be required to make one more chip shot field goal later in the game as they narrowly defeated the Otters 26-24.

We skip to week 3 where the Liberty played the Outlaws in a nailbiter. But it was only won by the Liberty thanks to a season-high 56-yard field goal made by Harris that pushed the score to 25-24 in favor of the Liberty. Harris would make two more field goals bringing his total on the season to 9 in 3 games.
The team's first loss came in week 6 against the Baltimore Hawks where they were defeated 24-16 however it was not because of Harris who made 3 field goals and an extra point to give them 10 of their 16 points. Despite the loss, they were back on track the next week with Harris hitting a remarkable 52-yard field goal to sweep the momentum in favor of the Liberty en route to a 34-6 victory.

The Liberty tacked on another easy win against the Sabercats with Harris tacking on another 3 field goals to add to historic total. But next up was the so far undefeated Wraiths and our hero Stephen Harris made a crucial error in the third quarter. As we know Harris was perfect as a field goal kicker. But during season 7 Harris missed 2 extra points one coming in this crucial game in the third quarter. With the score at 26-13 Harris looked to secure a 27-13 margin but missed and the Wraith would go on to score 14 unanswered and defeat the Liberty giving them their second loss of the season, this time by a score of 26-27. But that would be Harris’ only blemish on the season (he missed one extra point early on but was perfect after this miss).

In week 11 Harris would knock through a remarkable 5 field goals and bring his total up to 34 which was just 5 away from the record. And seemingly aware of this threshold the very next game, Harris would kick another 5 through in an impressive two-game performance and tie the record set by Cristiano Ronaldo in season 3. In that historic season 3 season Ronaldo’s Outlaws would win the championship, but would that also be in the cards for Harris?
It seemed those chances were dwindling as Harris passed the record with a 3-field goal loss against the Otters and losing badly to the Wraiths to end the regular season.

Looking ahead the Liberty would have to fight through the very team that they had lost to one game ago in a 48-28 beating. The Wraiths came into the matchup having lost only one game but Harris and the Liberty were ready this time, and with the help of 4 extra points and 4 field goals, the Liberty were heading to the championship to face the Otters. The Otters were no joke and had only lost 2 games in the regular season having split the series with the Liberty and the Wraiths. Meanwhile, the Liberty were coming in having lost 4 games with two coming at the end of the season (besides their playoff victory over the Wraith). But the Liberty controlled the entire game with Harris not having to kick a single field goal and the Librety defeated the Otters 28-19 and became season 7 champions.
Harris ended this season with a perfect 46/46 field goal ratio in the most prolific season for a kicker ever. He would play one more season before hanging it up due to regression but before he did he was able to have one of the best seasons ever capped off by a world championship. And that my friends, is the best single season for a kicker in ISFL history.

The Season 42 of Ultimus and Ultimini witnessed unforgettable moments of triumph and resilience as the Norfolk Seawolves and Arizona Outlaws rose above the competition to claim their respective championships.

The Norfolk Seawolves journey to the playoffs was marked by outstanding performances from their star rookies, Maximus Bordeaux and Tyler Hunt. Bordeaux, the rookie quarterback, showcased remarkable poise and skill, while Hunt, the rookie wide receiver, displayed incredible athleticism and a natural knack for making big plays. Additionally, the mid-season acquisition of rookie running back Oskar Clark proved to be a game-changer, as he quickly made a significant impact on the team, nearly amassing 1000 yards in just 10 games.

The Seawolves success during the regular season can be attributed to their balanced play on both sides of the ball. With an impressive 11-3 record, they boasted the second-highest points scored in the league, tallying an impressive 374 points. Equally impressive was their stellar defense, which allowed a mere 262 points, earning them the top rank in that category.

As the playoffs unfolded, the Seawolves faced the formidable Tijuana Luchadores, a team with a solid 9-5 record and the third-best offense and defense in the league. The matchup was anticipated to be closely contested, and the first half lived up to expectations with the Luchadores leading 13-7. However, the Seawolves unleashed their potential in the second half, storming back with 31 unanswered points, sealing a resounding 38-19 victory and booking their ticket to the Ultimini.

In the Ultimini, the Norfolk Seawolves found themselves facing a tough challenge against the Minnesota Grey Ducks in the championship game. Trailing 17-7 at halftime, doubts loomed over their ability to mount a comeback. Yet, once again, the Seawolves displayed their tenacity and mental fortitude, rallying in the second half to outscore the Grey Ducks 17-0, ultimately securing a remarkable 24-17 victory and completing their memorable championship double.

On the other side of the league (ISFL), the Arizona Outlaws showcased a dominant performance during the regular season. Led by rookie quarterback Donovan Winters III, who racked up an impressive 3956 passing yards and maintained a stellar 27/9 touchdown-to-interception ratio, the Outlaws offense was virtually unstoppable. Accompanied by the veteran duo of running back Danny Nedelko and receiver Louis Blondin, the Outlaws secured the top spot in both offense and defense, scoring 459 points while conceding just 299 points.

Their playoff journey began with a commanding victory over the Austin Copperheads, who possessed a respectable 9-7 record and the fifth-best defense in the league. Blowing them up 24-3 at halftime, the Outlaws showcased their championship mentality, orchestrating a memorable second-half game to secure a convincing 37-17 win.

In the second round of playoffs, the Outlaws faced the Honolulu Hahalua, a team with a solid 10-6 record and the sixth-best defense in the league. Once again,Arizona proved their mettle, dominating the first half with a 17-3 lead and maintaining their momentum in the second half, securing an impressive 34-10 triumph.

In the climactic Ultimus, the Arizona Outlaws clashed with the resilient Fire Salamanders, who boasted a formidable defense and an impressive 9-7 regular-season record. However, the Outlaws' offense proved to be too much to handle, as they established an early lead and continued to pour on the points. Although the Fire Salamanders managed to score two late touchdowns, it was not enough to halt the unstoppable force of the Outlaws, who sealed an emphatic 38-14 victory to claim the coveted Ultimus championship.

The Season 42 of Ultimus and Ultimini will be remembered as a season of astounding talent, thrilling comebacks, and historic victories. Both the Norfolk Seawolves and Arizona Outlaws etched their names in the annals of sports history with their impressive performances, leaving fans eagerly awaiting the start of the next season to witness the exhilarating spectacle of their athleticism and skill once more.

Your team has announced that they will be laying ground on a new stadium next season. What additions would you like to see included in it.

Okay, first off, let me start by saying my contract was supposed to have a clause in it that Panera Bread would be every single restaurant in the stadium, but apparently this was forgotten whenever it came time to actually make my contract, it was not included in the official language. This was a dramatic oversight by the Orange County Otters, as this is all I would want in a new stadium. You see, Bread Bowl will inherit the Panera Bread brand whenever he retires from the ISFL, thus this would help him whenever he retires. Don’t worry about the potential for profits, as he will be a club superstar, and anyone and everyone who is an Orange County Otter fan will be clamoring to claim the official Bread Bowl Bread Bowl (pending trademark). All of this combines to be an incredible win-win situation for every single side involved, Bread Bowl gains more brand recognition and the ability to live after his ISFL paychecks stop, and the Otters receive more money to spend on playing players and rigging games.

If your player had a show starring them, what would the plot be?

Look, Bread Bowl is a natural born star. He attracts women (and men) like flies, and he gets that big ass paycheck from his salary and his royalties sent directly to his checking account so he can buy all of the latest in Bread Bowl technology. With all of this considered, it is no secret that Bread Bowl would create a kitchen cooking show on the Food Network. This man is literally the smartest chef in the Orange County Otters Locker Room. He shows the private chef new recipes, along with schooling him on what he puts in the food for the team. Bread Bowl is such a fantastic chef that once he retires from football his parents are giving up their restaurant business so that way he can become the official head chef and create new recipes that will make new customers on the daily. In his show, he will give some of his expertise to his audience, allowing them to cook at just a portion that he can.

You’re in charge of entertainment for the Ultimus or Ultimini half-time show. What would you do?

As has been mentioned before, Bread Bowl is a certified baller. He knows every single star in Hollywood and every single recording artist that has ever lived, and they love his Bread Bowl flavors, and will do anything for him because of all he has done for them with his and his parents' insane recipes in their restaurants. Knowing all of this, it is no surprise that Bread Bowl will assemble the best halftime show ever. First, the opening is done by Adam Lambert led Queen, as they play their classics in a tribute to Freddie Mercury, who will be brought back via hologram. As the hologram is being produced, Britney Spears will sneak on the stage, and as the hologram ends, the whole field goes dark, then, her most famous hit starts playing and the crowd goes wild. As Britney finishes her set, Coldplay starts to play, securing this halftime show as one of the most star studded, when they all gather together to sing Bohemian Rhadsedy as a big group, and honor Freddie Mercury in the best way possible.

What are your thoughts on the sim engine? What sort of improvements would you make to the sim engine if given the opportunity?

It is absolutely no secret that the sim engine is the worst thing to have ever graced this earth, and anytime I am forced to watch such a barren invention, I wish to claw my eyes out with a hot iron. This is where I will fix all the issues within the sim, as I am obviously the only guy for the job. First, I fix the absolutely ludacris ways you can game the system by changing players positions. This has already been kinda fixed in the ISFL, but not fixed in-game to my knowledge, thus this gets on the list. Second, I would fix the absolutely terrible index service. I should not have to go through the entire leagues player stats just to get a teams stats all together. This is mostly a first world problem that only affects us, but it still pisses me off, and I;m in charge here. Third, I fix the penalty system, as some of these so-called penalties get on my nerves consistently

5. Sim Gonna Sim

I'll be honest, the phrase "Sim gonna sim" took on a completely new meaning for me after this season with NOLA. I know belive that the horrible, awful, mean-spirited Sim seeks to humiliate, embarrass, and destroy those who seek hope. The sim leaves nothing but destruction in its wake and the New Orleans Second Line S42 season is the perfect example of the kind of evil I speak of with the sim.

This S42 NOLA squad knew what we were coming into this season. We were a low TPE team of young, hungry, newer users and a couple of savvy veterans looking to finish their players out strong. We didn't expect to win anything other than stealing a couple of games here and there. That's all we wanted… we wanted to make some noise, scares some teams, and snags a win or two along the way.

But the way the sim toyed with our hearts was on a completely different level.

The number of games we lost by 3 points or less on last second OUTLANDISH plays by the sim is incalculable, hurtful, and downright devastating. The sim sought to break us.

One of the more devastating moments was the Second Line's Week 8 matchup against Sarasota. Sarasota was supposed to be better. They were supposed to be a good team. Spearheaded by Willie Miller and Lucius Salem on the offensive side of the ball, Sarasota should have run through us with ease, but they didn't. This young NOLA team had them on the ropes. NOLA had a chance with just a few minutes remaining in the game. With the game tied 31-31 Sarasota was backed up deep on their own side of the field on a 3rd and long and the NOLA defense looked locked in and unstoppable.

All we needed was this one stop on the 3rd and long. That's it. We were THAT close to getting the ball back into the hands of our domineering offense which was running roughshod over the Sarasota defense through the 2nd half.

Not ONLY did the sim give Sarasota the 1st down, but Salem caught the ball right at the 1st down marker and ran it all the way in for the TD. A damn TE beat our ENTIRE SECONDARY IN A FOOT RACE TO THE END ZONE.

It was heartbreaking and unbelievable. Especially because the week before we had barely lost the game against HON on a last second turnover and FG, but the loss to SAR was far more devastating. It would have broken any other team. But this New Orleans Second Line team is different. We were built different.

Yea, "Sim Gonna Sim" has taken on a new meaning for me. It means that the league and the sim know what this team is about to do to them. The fear they can all sense and smell in the air is thick and palpable. It's the smell of utter domination seeping it's a day through the cracks of this league. Arizona, CTC, and HON have all had a nice run but it's almost NOLA time and the Sim could see it.

The algorithms and calculations of the sim pointed in one direction only. The sheer willpower, strength, and dominance of a hungry team gaining power.

The sim is gonna sim. It's going to do everything it can to stop this Dynasty from taking its rightful place at the top of the ISFL, but there's nothing it can do. There's nothing anyone can do.

So keep simming you little sim league darlings. You'll need every bit of help you can get and then some. Keep your little pet Sim beside you and say your prayers at night.

The New Orleans Second Line is coming. It's coming for all of you and your pretty little sim too.
