2. I think this is a great draft class to be a part of. My first draft class was the legendary (infamous?) S22 class, which saw not only a massive injection of talent into the league, prompting an expansion to New York and Berlin; but also, future GMs and HO members. I wouldn’t even claim to be a top 25 player from that class. I think S43 is full of potential as well. Not only are there a few great recreates, but some new players I think can be a part of the league for decades (sim football years.)
Opera_Phantom’s newest recruit is Jay Cue III, a quarterback; much like the original Jay Cue. In my day (cough), Jay Cue was one of the most elite quarterbacks of his era, winning multiple MVPs in both the DSFL and ISFL, but never was able to bring home an Ultimus title. His son, Jay Cue Jr. was able to win two, and take home plenty of individual hardware. With one Hall of Fame player and another to be inducted soon, Opera_Phantom is an early favorite of the S43 class to make a huge splash. Other “classic” users headline the S43 class with new creates. Jay Cue III is my favorite of this class to make the Hall of Fame.
TheCC has been a longtime GM in the ISFL and knows how to build defensive players. I was teammates with his first player, Tyron Shields, and while TheCC would probably disagree, I thought Shields had a good career. CC’s new player is Sem’ga Nah’sim, a linebacker. “Sim Gonna Sim” is gonna be a big impact player in Chicago, one worthy of a second-round pick.
DeadlyPlayer has been in the league for a while, I remember his return during my playing days was a big deal. Deadly is a great user and no matter how Tha Thu Craicte’s career turns out, Deadly will liven up a locker room. One of Deadly’s greatest accomplishments was founding the London Royals of the DSFL, a branding I have in my top 5 across both the DSFL and ISFL.
UberBJ is a seasoned veteran, who joined not long after I did. Uber already has 3 Ultimus titles under his belt and is a phenomenal Discord user. I have no doubt Uber’s success will continue with Cheecago Boucher. I know I have always had a good time with Uber and hope to see his new create do well in the ISFL.
IHateBobNutting was once a teammate of mine in Minnesota with his first player, Phillip Stein. It’s good to see IHBN still kicking (ha) around in the league. Another shoutout I want to toss out is to Crodyman, who worked all the way up from Minnesota’s War Room to Chicago’s GM. While it was shortlived, I thought Crody filled the role well. Also, Crody sucks lol.
There have
also been some new users I am impressed with. The cream of that crop, in my opinion, has been Lemonoppy, DoubleDub, 110radio, and Honey.
Lemonoppy has been the wonderkid of this class, a new user who embodies the type of user you can see Head Office potential in. Lemon, if you’re reading this, don’t let it go to your head. Kidding! I love how detail-oriented Lemon is. His mocks have been fantastic, even when they’re made on an airplane. I see not only a Hall of Fame career for Thomas Sutha, but potentially user Hall of Fame for Lemon, and more.
DoubleDub has been my teammate in Kansas City and has been one of the big difference makers for us. Most mocks have his player, Josh Gibson, going second overall in the draft. I tend to agree and I think Gibson can live up to it.
110radio is one user I’ve had the pleasure to actually verbally chat with. His podcast is simply put, elite. I believe Radio has already made a difference in the league with his podcast probably influencing the new podcast payout rules. With TE’s being a position light on users, a Hall of Fame case could possibly be made for Ignatious Cleetington at the end of his career.
Honey has been one of the most active users in both the ISFL and DSFL rookie servers. They’re so active I kind of forget they’re a newer user. I love their personality and hope to see them stick around a long time. Like Radio, Honey’s player is a tight end. One could argue that Cleetington and Dylan Duma will be duking it out for years as the best tight ends of their generation.
