19. Your team has announced that they will be laying ground on a new stadium next season. What additions would you like to see included in it
Since joining the Cape Town Crash the one thing I have noticed is severely lacking at the stadium is choices in drink. Now coming from a drinking culture this is very important to me, sure the stadium has beer but which ones don't? I think first we need a proper Dwarven Ale house, now I know youre saying that just beer but no its really not. Then I think we also need an actual bar let the people have the hard stuff I really like it when our fans are extra rowdy. We could also use a fancy cocktail bar for our higher class patron’s cause we want them to get good and drunk too. Lastly after all that drinking we really need a permanent home for the Crash’s signature hand held options. The booths for the Blurro and the Horndog are great but such great pieces of culinary art need to have their own store fronts all over the stadium.

24. You’re in charge of entertainment for the Ultimus or Ultimini half-time show. What would you do?
So picture this the stadium goes pitch black then you hear “YOU ARE NOT PREPARED!” followed by the loudest "mrglmrglmrglmrgl" you have ever heard. The lights come on and thousands or murlocs are running onto the field pulling a very large platform. It settles on the field and the murlocs all gather around the structure, when there is a blaring guitar chord played. Then with more pyro then you’ve ever seen out bursts the band and its Elite Tauren Chieftain. They start with “I am Murloc” with all the murloc doing some sick choreography while they run around the field and at the end of the song run out through the tunnels. Then just after the song ends and the murlocs exit the orc, trolls, tauren, well basically all the members of the Horde come out and the band starts playing Power of the Horde. For the last song the members of the Alliance come out at first things seem tense but then the music starts playing and ETC goes into a new song that I helped them write called “We can all get along”. Song ends que fireworks then back to the game.

29. What team do you think has the best branding in the league? Why?
So of course the best ISFL branding is Cape Town but Im not here to brag about my team. The team I’d like to talk about is the Orange County Otters. First their color scheme has to be my favorite in sports orange and black is such a great combination. Its dark and bright, contrasts very well, has some spooky vibes to it. Also when you add in white or cream colors for the uniforms it looks so good and stands out from the other boring color combos. Now I don't know who picked the Otter for the mascot but what a gamble they took and it really paid off. The Otter is very much like the dog of the sea where on one hand they are cute and loveable animals but on the other hand they are still out there as a predator catching fish and eating clams and such. For sure a top tier color combo and animal.

33. When looking at the teams we have in the ISFL and DSFL, is there any team you believe is in need of a major rebrand or update to their current branding? Why or why not?
Now I dont hate this teams branding but I do think they need a change. The San Jose Sabercats is a very cool team as someone from the area I can appreciate then team but I would like to see something that wasn’t just a copy and paste of a team that was real. I think I would go in one of two ways. I would either go with a tech theme, San Jose is deep in Silicon Valley. If we are gonna go completely crazy I’d go with the San Jose Interwebs, the mascot would be a cyborg spider and the colors would be Black and Blue with Gold accents. The other direction would be to lean into the areas mexican heritage. Now it would be hard to not step on the Luchadores toes but I’m gonna give it a shot. So I’d go with the San Jose Cucuy the mascot would be a ghost and the colors would be Gold and Black with blue accents.

7. Write 600 words or more on something about anything in the league that interests you. It could be related to statistics, a league issue that you take seriously, or a niche part of history that doesn’t fit neatly into either of the above categories. This must be directly related to the league, so don’t wax 600 words about your team’s participation on a Werewolf server or something.

Something about the league I find particularly interesting is the sheer number of jobs that exist within it. The amount of jobs allow for an incredible level of organization, ranging from updaters to actual intern positions. There are almost always jobs available to apply to, allowing ample opportunity for users to make money and figure out which jobs work best for themselves. So far, I've personally held two jobs and considered many more.

My first league job was a general member on the DSFL awards committee. I think this is a great first job because it's fairly low commitment while also being a way to learn stats better. For low commitment, you don't really have to do anything until the end of the season. If you're already in the DSFL then you probably won't need to go back and look at many games either. The index becomes your best friend. Each season on the committee is hit or miss. There are a couple things I think could be improved. The first is the level of discussion within the committee. My first season I made the mistake of trying to explain all of my nominations and cuts. This didn't really spark any meaningful level of discussion and I was left disappointed having wasted my time for nothing. Other seasons discussion has been a little more natural. One more thing with voting is specifically the award for best game of the season. It's a really difficult one to nominate for. I think it would be helpful for players to send in their own self-nominations for that one, and then the committee can weed through the weaker games. Reason being- typically very few people remember your big games except for yourself. I believe that even though this would create far more nominations, it would ultimately be both better representation and less work for the committee because they wouldn't have to individually go through every DSFL game looking for big numbers.

After being on the awards committee, my next job was on the Rookie Mentor team. This was a really cool job, and one that I felt I really got a hot start to. As far as being a first job goes, this is an interesting one. While I think some new users should apply to it, it's definitely not as universal as the previous one I mentioned. If you are like me, you'll start feeling guilty if you can't devote a ton of time to the team. The rookie mentor team has a surprisingly large amount of structure to it, and gets more organized with every season. The heads are both great at what they do, and there's lots of different experience within the team itself. I ultimately chose to leave the team because I just felt I couldn't contribute enough and wanted to open the door for someone else. It's a job I am excited that I may be able to return to one day. My favorite parts were assisting new users and just generally getting to hang around in the DSFL server. I have been out of the DSFL for a couple seasons now, but it is honestly my favorite server in the league. It has a rotating cast of people in it, but it's always got a different vibe than the main ISFL server that I just find suits me better. Maybe it just means I want to be a kid forever.

There are, of course, many more jobs than the ones I have listed here. Everything from streaming to head office to someone that will skim this pathetic attempt at an essay and give me TPE out of pity. Apply for one today! Then you won't have to do these offseason tasks anymore.

10. If I were named commissioner of the league, the first thing I'm looking to do is expand the league budget significantly. Upon stronghanding approval from the Board of Directors, I would then invest in a legitimate sim engine and hire a modder specifically to tune it to the leagues preferences. After the engine is fixed, the next thing I'm doing is attacking it from the audience perspective. What better way to show off this new enhanced sim engine than by giving it a legit broadcast feel. I would immediately name myself to the A team for broadcasting. We would then have between 6-10 other duos with different graphics sets and everything for each game, similar to what you'd see during the NFL. We would have two "networks" with different screen graphics. We would have A teams B teams C teams and so on, just like pro football now. This would be a lot of work but remember, I am flush with cash and we all know money talks. Now that we've fixed the sim engine and the presentation is top of the line, we would then have to take the stakes to the next level. Sure, forum icons are cool to indicate that you've won an award or been on an Ultimus winning team. They are great. Do you know what would be better? If we had physical trophies sent to the winners that are just smaller scale models but a physical tangible item. We would team up with the world's leader in jewelry, Josten's, and make everyone shine. We would have to slow down seasons considerably, but the league would be a much more involved and enriching experience. Please do not misinterpret this fantasy article for bashing what we currently do with the sim team presentation team and everyone behind the scenes that keep this massive ship running. I just thought it'd be fun to go to the extreme and fantasize about what a utopian sim league would be. I think if I were commissioner for even a season, we try the above technique and see how much more involved people might be. Imagine seeing life like graphics of your player on a television style broadcast. You could use your league money to buy accessories in the game, just like any MyPlayer mode. There would be a lot of creative room and having different broadcast teams would be something never before seen with a league of this volume and stature.

19. If I was going to add something to the current Sailfish Stadium, it would absolutely be a retractable roof. The summer in Sarasota gets so hot sometimes I feel like we're at a disadvantage playing most of our games in an outdoor environment. Sure, teams from colder climates have to make the adjustment and we have the advantage of living here, but if you're doing this for 2 or 3 weeks in a row it can have an impact on you. Otherwise, when it comes to recreational activities I just want to see every video game system ever made hooked up completely to the best set up for that system and access to all of its games. I don't want to deal with thinking or fidgeting with anything after my work is done. I want to unwind with 25 year old video games that bring me back to a simpler time. The Sailfish already have world class facilities and amenities, but these things would put it over the top without question.


22. A rookie I'm keeping my eye on this season is WR Sam Mercury. Baltimore got themselves a steal with this pick, and Mercury could be a franchise cornerstone at an important position. Falling through the cracks in the Draft, Mercury has incredible instinct for the game. He has a drive to meet every ball where they're at. There's not a lot of times he will be on the losing end of a contested catch. His core is so strong that it allows him to put an effort into each play that not everyone can. Mercury is also a tremendous competitor on the field. His spirit is a strong one, he could be a leader by the way he holds himself and his teammates accountable. He's got a football IQ that you either are born with or you can never reach. He's also been known to be quite the trash talker once he heats up. There are stories of him in college where he would verbally eviscerate his opponent to the point where the referees had to ask him to leave the poor guy alone. Mercury is a home run pic

3. Although I don't really want to toot my own horn per se, but I feel this be the year of the Offensive Lineman. It is probably not so much that we (Offensive Linemen) are going to shine and standout, but rather it would be more based on which team has the better active user OL squad. The more human OL rather than bots but also balancing out which users are more active will be a base of which to gauge the team success in games (that is though not to say that OL bots are bad, but my understanding is that because they take up enough cap space on the roster, buying them when they're not necessary would tend to be more detrimental to the team rather than essential since that would be less space for more talent where it's more needed). Arizona and Austin are leading the pack with 4 linemen each. With Arizona winning this past Ultimas, it might be worth assessing how good of an O Line is worth to a team (not to disregard all of the other talent on the team). A real-life example would be the Kansas City Chiefs and Tampa Bay Buccaneers Super Bowl where the Chiefs had a super injured offensive line which was exploited in the championship despite all of the talent that was elsewhere in other positions on the Chiefs. However, Baltimore and Cape Town, the NSFC leaders last season, were also capable of producing strong squads despite having less applicable TPE in the OL position. This could also be a product that O Line could be adequate enough to produce results if there is sufficient talent across the rest of the team. Of course, we can't forget that Defense wins games. However, I based a lot of my predictions last season on whose defense had better applicable TPE; I was bested by that metric last season. I believe at the time, Berlin had the highest defensive TPE, yet they only made out with 9 wins, but did go on to the Ultimas. And then Austin, also a high TPE defense, also fell short last season not making the playoffs.

As for predictions this year, I would say Arizona, Austin, and Honolulu are going to stay near the top of their ASFC division as they all have great active squad members. The same could be said for Baltimore, Cape Town, and I would also put Berlin into this grouping. I had relatively high hopes for the Fire Salamanders last season, but I guess either I placed them a little too high on a pedestal, or they were smited down by the Sim Gods and did their best play for the season. Sorry New York, but I would put you guys in the middle tier of rankings for this upcoming season; you all must have gotten lucky last season. For my own San Jose Sabercats, although we are in the process of making some changes, I believe we are on a good path, but my conservative prediction will be that we will improve but stay in the middle of the pack; a more precise predictions being 8 wins 8 losses. Other teams rounding out the middle of the pack are Orange County, Yellowknife, Sarasota, and Colorado. Sorry, New Orleans, but extra help will be needed for you all to make you more competitive in the league. I believe Chicago has the highest chance of being the most wild-card of all of the teams this season. For some reason, my instincts can't pinpoint them down on how to rank them. I feel they definitely will rise up, but how far is unknown to me. Still being a little new to the simulation league and culture as a whole, I am unsure how big the Sim Gods come into play, so anything is still on the table, but I'm sure somebody here has it figured out... right?

A player that had one of the biggest impacts this past season for the San Jose Sabercats was none other than Keanu Calhoun, Wide Receiver aka @Frostbite He was brought over from the New Orleans Second Line in a trade mid-season and he flourished while playing in San Jose. He brought speed, poise, and a deep threat to an offense that was basically lacking all of the above. While he was also drafted in the same draft as my player, Blacksmith Andre, so his impact was not as high as most would have thought, since we are still in the lower TPE brackets of the league, he still had an amazing impact on the field and in the locker room as well. Frost brings such a great, calm demeanor to the locker room, and also is quite insightful when it comes to ideas and plans for the team. His player is able to enact his ideas to the best of frost’s abilities, so its just a double win there.

I do not know too much about the sim engine, as I do not own the newest version we are using, but a couple things I think would be awesome if they were able to show it more easily accessible would-be penalties allowed by offensive linemen. If the Index was able to track that as well, I think it would go a long way in getting offensive linemen better opportunities to understand what they are doing right and wrong and be able to better write about and better grasp what the offensive lineman is doing. It’s quite rough right now, since we only have pancakes and sacks allowed as a stat, so I can understand why it is not a glamorous position for everyone. I would like to see more stats overall for offensive linemen, and if there was a way to code it or make it more easily accessible I think it would be a small step in a long process to make the trenches better at least on the offensive side of the ball.

One of the ultimate team players in San Jose is DJ Maclean aka @Urq660 He’s been a godsend in the locker room since I’ve come to the San Jose Sabercats. He’s insightful, delightful, and just an all-around amazing dude to share the locker room with. I did have the privilege to work with him for a short time in Bondi Beach, but now also being with him in San Jose has just shown how great of a person he is, and how willing he is to go above and beyond to assist people if they need it. Urq has been such a fun person to discuss things with, and also one smart cookie, so to speak. Even though, he does have one bad quality of being in the chair force, we can over look those issues and congratulate him on just being an upstanding person and someone that I look forward to being on the same team with for a long time!

One new rule of football that I think could be really fun, would be allowing, just line in old arena football rules, is a run up for a singular wide receiver, to the line of scrimmage before the ball is hiked. He can not be past the ball before it is hiked, but a run up to get him moving quite quickly and making the defense have to react a bit faster then to just a man on man on the line of scrimmage where you can bump and push them and give the offense that much longer to set up. I think allowing some sort of movement on the offensive side of the ball pre-snap would be pretty fun to watch and also allow offenses that are on the weaker side to become a bit better without actually having to change much of anything, and giving players the opportunity to actually be good instead of getting bumped and destroyed at the line.

10. Through a random lottery drawing, you have been named the league's new commissioner for a day. Congrats! What improvements would you make to the league if you had the power to do whatever you wanted?

Okay, so what I am about to say is probably going to be super controversial, but please give my TPE anyways, k thanks. If i was commish, and assuming I could put something *into place* In my one day as a commish, I would start with the automation of league jobs. Let’s face it, unless you are a sick human being and do stuff like Rookie Mentor stuff (cough), the grand majority of users do league jobs for *SPOILER ALERT* money. Most just grab a job to go through the motions and get some cash to upgrade their dude. That's it, no more no less - dont think auditors actually like their job, I have done accounting in real life and it blows!

So, my suggestion is to get rid of all the non-artistic/thinking tasks as possible. The SHL recently/or is about to put in the SHL portal, which will essentially automate the grand majority of tasks a user has to do, as well as put about half of the “workforce” out of a league job. A portal in the ISFL (And yes I know we are getting to that point with the new announcement of updating) would go a long way, and those displaced users could either find another job, or the league can simply UP the amount of money earned from media, or contributions in some way, or even the remaining league jobs. The Head Office does not get paid to update people’s tasks, they get paid to make decisions and improve the league, which is truly what a JOB really should be. The sooner we get rid of all the silly tasks that make the league FUNCTION, the better - so yeah, automate away I say. That is what I would do as my single day as commish, advance the grindy part of the league as much as possible, and league jobs are reserved for those who will contribute to the league's health and fun.

15. If you could create a team using any active players in the league, what would that team look like? Would you build a group of all-stars to contend in the next Ultimus, or a team full of jokesters for the fun of it? Describe the roster and why you chose the players you did. Okay, if i was able to do an expansion team, I would certainly not create an allstar team that would impact league balance. If I had free reign, I would just grab the biggest bunch of hooligans possible and see what happens. Ironically, as a S41 rookie, the players I would have grabbed are largely studs now, but there is no way I could have known that back then.

The following players would be included on that list – First off you need a team gambler who can emphasize how true the GAMBLES FALLACY really is, that is Croney, who will actively rig the bank balance of your team at any given time. Then you have UptownCord, the user who actually knows everything and league history, so no matter what you have a dedicated user who will be able to see the league and teams for what they are, not who they claim to be. Then you have Wizard literal, someone who could create so much media to promote your team, it would be THE PLACE TO BE, whether that is true or not is largely irrelevant – it is all about PERCEPTON and VIBES after all. But, lets not forget you need a WWE fantatic, so toss in my boy JDC in there to stir the pot and bring some immaculate energy. Now, these are all S41 players, as i mentioned before… But if you really wanted some veteran presence, you could toss in Gumbaman, who has more interest in simming than really any other part of the league - to the point that if it was not for the PT Pass(es), this dude would not do a single task and would be at 0 TPE! You could add in some vets like CC, Zoot, Tuba, Dude man (for unlimited money), Simo, or anyone else for good measure!

Who would have guessed the game between the best corner and the best receiver in college would go the distance. After a constant back and forth between the two teams it was all tied up late in the 4th. USC and star corner Wayne Miller had really struggled since half time. The Oregon Ducks spread offense was proving to be too much for USC after they figured out the initial defensive looks. The only thing the Ducks offense had not done yet was have their star receiver Xander Mika score a TD. Matched up against Wayne he had struggled all game, having only a measly 2 catches for 15 yards at this point. But after a bad series by the Trojan offense the ball was back in O'Regan's hands. This trip out was for all the marbles if they turned it over they probably wouldn't get it back until overtime at best. At this point in the game everyone knew they needed to get the ball in Xander’s hands. Xander was easily the most dynamic player in the Pac-12 that season. If they wanted a chance of this late win they needed his magic. After a Few incomplete passes trying to take the top off the D it was 4th down. Everyone in the stadium knew the ball was going in Xanders direction; it was just a question of how. After a couple million audibles the ball was snapped. Wayne naturally thought it was going to be a deep pass backed up expecting to get into a footrace but what came next no one saw. It was a WR screen! Xander caught the ball easily and had multiple blockers getting down field. If Xander got past Wayne it was probably a house call for the game winning touchdown. But as Wayne started to bolt towards Xander for a tackle he saw it. The play wasn't just a wide receiver screen it had an option for a deep pass to the streaking running back. Wayne, risking the game, started chasing after the RB. Wayne being fast af caught up to back swiftly. Unfortunately for the Trojans Xander knew Wayne would see the RB and just ran it for himself and after the last defender missed the tackle Zander was in the end zone for 7. A Play Wayne constantly thinks about and goes to show football is a team sport. You can read and react to something perfectly and still get burned if not everyone holds their weight

Expansion good ol expansion. I'm going to take a random guess and say this league needs an expansion. 14 teams is a very awkward number. I think this league needs a couple more franchises. Add like 2 more to get to a nice 16 half of  the NFL. The first location I think that needs a team is Detroit. The Lions are a fan favorite team in the NFL despite their historic struggle and Detroit I'm sure would have lots of fans carryover into here. Detroit always felt like a football city to me, a hard nose fight for every inch type city. An expansion team there with some kind of tough name likeThe Diamonds. Nothing can break a diamond exceptanother diamond so it fits perfectly for a tough city like Detroit. Probably have some light blue jerseys similar to the Lions color but more of a true white as a secondary not the ugly gray. The other city I think deserves some isfl football is Seattle. The Seahawks are huge in the Seattle area and I'm sure a isfl team would have a similar cult like following. But this time with their branding I think I should lean into this kind of big intimidating style. Name the team something like the Seattle reapers. Have the team colors be black and purple. Just something so dark and powerful seeming. Detroit Diamonds and Seattle Reapers just have a good ring to it. I would suggest putting Detroit in NSFC because they seem more east, then Seattle in ASFC cause it seems to go with the theme of violence. Don't know how popular certain people would be with these team brandings because the colors overlap with other teams already, but I'd definitely assume it's ok with most people cause it's not that big of a deal.

16. Describe your player and/or team’s journey through this latest season. What were the highlights? What were the lower points? What might you have done differently? What are your expectations for next season?

   The Dallas Birddogs has had a way better season than the last. Last season, they where 2-11-1 (if I'm correct). They headed into the off-season and the future didn't look so bright for them. They went into the draft and drafted DT Crasher Wake, WR Logan Runswell, WR La'Fluke Paris-Johnson,  QB Justin Carr, and TE Angus Mcflurry. Some of the Birddogs members stayed down, so the Birddogs looked ready for the season. They opened the season out vs Tijuana and loss by 3,  but bounced back with a win vs Bondi Beach. Winning by 3, then lose 2 straight against Norfolk And Minnesota both by 13. After those losses, The Birddogs stepped there game up by winning 6 straight, then a hard lost to Minnesota, losing 20-16, then blowing out the Pythons 42-17, then a devastating loss to the Coyotes. And as their last game, they won 35-24. Dallas had a 9-5 record but did not make the playoffs due to the division being a close one. Two of the Draftees WR Logan Runswell and WR La'Fluke Paris-Johnson had both had great season with both having over 1k receiving yards on the season. La'Fluke Paris-Johnson had made the pro bowl as a rookie on special teams. Their LB Leharm James had a spectacular season with almost getting the DPOY award. DT Crasher Wake was a top candidate for being DROY. Two of their players where IA's, but they kept pushing to where they are now. In the draft, Crasher wake was drafted in the 1st round, WR La'Fluke Paris-Johnson was drafted in Round 3, Waiver Pickup Reginald Arceneuax was drafted literally after him, and Logan Runswell was drafted in the 4th round.This Dallas team is a special one. Hopefully next season they would be able to go to the playoffs and potentially a championship. Love you Dallas.


27. Imagine your current position was not available to be picked when you created your player. What other position would you have picked, and why? (Written Task)


    If my current position was not available to be picked, I would have chosen to be a safety. Before I was a wide receiver, back in high school I was a safety before I had became a wide receiver. In my freshman year, I wasn't really the best safety on Junior Varsity. I had started off as a 3rd string safety until I had proved my self of being a starter. It took me a while, but by the half of my high school season I finally became the starter. With also being a returner, I was developing into a better defensive back. For the rest of the season, I was the starter for my team. I racked up 5 interceptions with 18 PD. I felt pretty good an di even joined the Varsity squad on going into the playoffs. We won the championship after we had played throughout the playoffs. I played safety until my junior/senior year and switched to a wide receiver.


34. New players join our teams every season, so which of those new players made the biggest impact on the field for your team? (Written Option)


    If I would say the player who made the biggest impact on the field, it would be Crasher Wake, Logan Runswell, and La'Fluke Paris-Johnson. Those 3 players had made and huge impact on the team. Crasher Wake is a top earner and a top DT even though he just switched to LB to help Austin when he comes up to the ISFL. Even though Logan Runswell has retired, he put up some great numbers on the season. Over 1200 yards and 10 TDs (I think? Haven't checked stats lol). Great WR2 for the Birddogs and a great weapon on offense for the QBS. Then, there us La'Fluke Paris-Johnson. A 1,000
yard receiver for the season and a great returner for the team. These 3 players has had a huge impact on the team since the defense needed a run stopper on defense. And on offense, they needed two wide receivers badly and they had found them. I'm looking forward to seeing what they can do this year!

Tier 2 - Task 16

The past season wasn't my best. Although, then entire team seemed to struggle at times. We started out well, winning our two first games. Everything seemed great. The locker room was pumped up and we felt like we might have something with this squad. But after those first two games it all fell apart quickly. Now came two not completely unexpected losses against Honolulu and Arizona. Both top of the league kinda teams. The losses hurt a little extra as they both happened because of some, let's call it shenanigans, during the last drives of each game. But as mentioned we didn't feel too bad about it. Unfortunately after this we just couldn't win a game. Some might call it a curse, others call it "sim gonna sim". No matter the reason why these losses pilled up we all felt we were a better team than the standings show. Even now after the season I would claim we should be a lot higher up seeing the team we had on paper. But of course there's nothing to do about it now. Just gotta look forward.

And speaking of looking forward, I'm extremely excited for this upcoming season. I feel like I'm getting better and better. There's no break or even slowing down in my development. On the field I feel much quicker and more confident. Training camp especially has me feeling great. Last season's numbers don't mean anything to me now. I'm staring the next season in the eyes and know for sure teams won't be ready for the Otters' #1 secondary in the league. I don't know all the numbers to verify that, but I feel it and see it myself when we're all on the field. I'm honestly surprised teams still throw the ball towards McAlister's side of the field. Worse for them is from now on there is no safe side.

Tier 3 - Task 26

Besides playing football Jamdrian has always enjoyed cooking. Usually helping his parents in the kitchen whenever they would let him. With it being one of his other passions one of his dreams was to one day run his own restaurant. Which might very well come true after his football career wraps up.

So what Jamdrian likely would be up to at this point if not football, it would likely include running around in a hot kitchen somewhere. Learning under big-time chefs. Or if we try to look with more realistic glasses you'd probably find him in one of the local restaurants. Working his way to potentially a sous chef at this point, if lucky. And whenever possible attending culinary events and conferences. Doing his best to network and learn to allow him to one day gain the capital, relationships, and reputation to set up his own kitchen in New York City. That's the dream, at least.

Tier 3 - Task 28

I like the recent rule changes to baseball a lot. Especially the ones directed at the pitcher and batter clocks. Those games used to take half a day, but now they're actually something you can attend without giving up your schedule.

Now, I'm aware football already has a clock for the offensive team to set up and snap the ball. But what if we lowered the time? Wouldn't that make it even more exciting? Looking at games today teams never really get penalized for going too long before playing the ball. And even if they do most of the time it's on purpose. I suggest we cut the time in half. Make the game of football a more action-packed, less strategic game. Of course there will still be strategy. Much needed if the time they have to set up actually lowers. But it'll be a lot less standing around for 20 seconds figuring out what to do next, and more need to quickly analyze the game and field position to get going.

27. Imagine your current position was not available to be picked when you created your player. What other position would you have picked, and why? (Written Task)


My first build for a player was an offensive lineman, mostly because I wanted to choose what I thought was a position of need in a league like this. (Though I may be wrong, it was just my perception as a first time player). If I were to do it again, I would make a pass rusher linebacker. A sack is one of the most devastating plays for an offense to overcome. It also helps that the simulator pauses slightly after a sack to highlight the play. That would make watching the stream even more of a highlight for a good pash rusher. With a simulation league, I assume that numerical data is important to drive the importance of players and schemes. Having a clearer cut metric, like sacks, for my player (unlike offensive lineman), would probably be a fun thing to track and point to. It seems like I have talked myself into my next build!

32. Your player has decided to start a podcast since it's what all the cool celebrities are doing these days. What would the name of your player's podcast be and what would they talk about/do on the podcast? (Written Task)


My player is Carter Goad so the name of his podcast would be "Goad, Not Great". Obviously, this is a play on the phrase good, not great and the podcast would highlight professional athletes that are now ineligible to be in their sports Hall of Fame. Each episode would be centered around a specific team (i.e. the Chicago Bears) and would look to generate interest from their fanbase to highlight fan favorite players that were good (fan favorites) but not great (hall of famers). Submissions from current fans would be considered for which players to cover. Time would be spent highlighting the nominated players from the team's history and discussions would center around why the player in question is beloved by fans and how fans at large are missing the best qualities of the player and how more recognition is deserved. Special guests would include teammates of the players in question to give insight into how important they were to the team.

14. Expansion Expansion Expansion! Tell us why you think the league should expand / not expand or include any ideas (in words) for team branding ideas you have or team locations.


While it all depends on getting maximum participation in the league, I would think that expanding two more teams in the ISFL would be a great idea. This would put the ISFL at double the DSFL and you could make an affiliate minor league system between the two leagues. You could have teams "send down" players to a specific DSFL team. 16 teams would balance out the league and make our league be able to emulate one of the conferences of the NFL. We could make 4 divisions of 4 teams each. Something like the following:

Scheduling could work out quite well as well. Each team would play all teams in their division twice (six games) and then play two of the three divisions in totality on a rotating seasonal basis (8 more games) along with 2 teams in the remaining division based on the previous seasons finish. Something like the first and second place teams play the other first and second place teams while the third and fourth place teams play the other third and fourth place teams.

The playoffs could also play like the NFL. Each division winner automatically gets in the playoffs. Then there would be either two or three wildcard teams with the top team or teams receiving a first round bye.

With this expansion, you could also assign two DSFL teams to be the minor league team of each division. This could be a place of call ups / call downs throughout the season. Assuming the divisions from above, I would propose the following alignment:
