5 Point Tasks
8. This task is exclusive to non-recreate rookies of the S44 class and later. In 300 words or more, how has your experience been in the league? Who have you met that has made your time here more fun, friendly, and exciting? Have you been satisfied with your player’s early start? What was it like being drafted for the first time? Do you have any comments or suggestions for the entire league that you think should be implemented?
Now that I have finished my first season I finally feel as though I can have an honest answer to this question. My experience in the league has been phenomenal! It really is wild to see how different things are now that I have a handle on things (I've finally made an update without an error). The first year was a great learning opportunity and now I am supremely excited to get even more experience under my belt. All of the Norfolk leadership have been wonderful in helping me feel right at home in the DSFL. Sconnie, @Tmoney6996, jiggory all brought me in to the Norfolk war room and have been showing me the basics. It's been amazing getting to peak behind the curtain and get a grasp of how the whole operation works! They were even kind enough to let me reach out to rookies on behalf of Norfolk as a scout! And of course I had to check the scouting report they had posted about me. Let's just say I was beaming like a kid on Christmas. I was shocked to be taken third overall but after a productive first season I hope that I have helped to pay back the debt I owe to the Seawolves. 64 Tackles, 2 FF, 4 Sacks, 1 INT, and 6 PDs playing as the safety/CB3 far exceeds the expectations I had set for my player to start the year. Watching him fly around the field and make plays has really helped to solidify the joy this league can bring. It might not be the most hands on method, but the rewarding feeling is there all the same! The ISFL (and DSFL) Has been a wonderful experience and it is something I speak well of to my friends in the hopes they might join as well. All in all me and Simon have had a great start to our careers here, and hopefully with the support and good vibes of the entire Norfolk fleet we'll be able to make waves!
2.5 Point Tasks
18. This task is exclusive to recreate/non-recreate rookies of the S45 class and later. The season is over and the draft is coming up. What do you bring to a team, and why should a team choose to take a chance on you next season? (Written Task)
What I bring first and foremost is dedication. Despite my regular errors in the updates, I get them in and max out my TPE as best as I can (predictions are not my strong suite, especially since I'm fairly uninformed on the "whos who" still). But no team will need to worry about whether or not I will get my stats up and be a contributor. I also bring flexibility. I have no qualms switching positions if a team asks me to. While I would like to play on the defense, there is nothing I'd say no to. I am a positive vibe for the locker room and a real team player in every sense of the word. I love to learn and so I want to keep exploring the war room responsibilities so that I can continue to help out a team and contribute to its long term growth.
26. if your player wasn't a professional in the ISFL/DSFL, what would they be doing instead? (Written Task or Graphic Task)
If Simon Winston wasn't playing football, he would be playing chess. He learned it early from his grandfather and loved it. He is a competitor, and he is a smart guy. Playing CB takes a lot of football knowledge. You have so many things to pay attention to. The QB, the WR in front of you, and where your help is. It isn't all that different from tracking different pieces, finding good lines, and trying to understand what it is your opponent is attempting to do. As a physical corner Simon isn't your prototypical CB. He likes to manhandle the receiver at the line and get them off balance. Similarly, he plays the English open to get things off center to start, and come at you in a way you aren't often prepared to handle. This off-meta approach keeps his opponents guessing as they haven't taken the time to practice and train against something so unorthodox.
