Well i dont know if there has been one or two defining moves of this past season that will really shape up the conferences. But, I am happy to discuss what seems to be a clear difference in team quality.. there is a few teams, then everyone else. On the one side you have HON and NY, with HON still being strong last year and even the year before as well, have finally been rewarded for their efforts by Flex and Icebear & NY has just been super consistent and nearly built a winner. I mean if you take a look at the rest of the conference its.. not good? ARI will forever get a hall pass on this due to their overwhleming sucess and everyone wanting to go there (Cough), but everyone else is who they have been, or are who they are. Its a big issue for these teams, as they haven't broken the dominance of ARI, and when they do, HON, the rebuild that worked, is now the consensus favorite. We should also take a minute to say that NOLA truly is not much better than when they started this rebuilt, and S41 players will be in regression before the team even sniffs .500, nevermind the playoffs. Draftees after S42 have basically all been replaced or traded, as players finally realize that these long rebuilds have massive consequences. OCO is rebuilding with a new GM, Austin is who they are at this point, simmed lucked forever and may never hit their goals for one reason or another, and and SJS is who SJS is -- that has not changed either since my time in this league. In this conference, its the same teams who find success, and there's one who do not. Either it is up the GMs to find a new strategy, cause the one they are using right now sure isnt working!
As for the NFC, you still have CTC and BAL leading the way, as has been the case for a few seasons now, and I dont see that changing for the next few seasons either. Both teams are well managed and are hilariously never the topic of discussion on these controversial trades you see posted. They continually restock talent and get rid of poor players, leading to very strong rosters and a healthy LR and player envionment. Then... you have everyone else? See a trend here? YKW did win a few seasons ago and had to rebuild because their entrie roster was essentially toast, so a rebuild is what it is, at least they can say they won, and beating ARI is always a treat! But other than that, you have a team that is more interested in recruiting players to their agent website than actually winning games, CHI who really hasn't been competitive since i've joined either, Berlin -- the perennial 8-8 favorite it seems as well for one reason or another, and Sarasota -- who is the kings of getting the 3rd of 4th seed and are ALWAYS in the mix! So much like the other conference, you have the two teams and everyone else. Now things are cyclical I get that, Im not dumb, but I find it funny that its usually under certain managers do certain teams thrive! While winning in a sim league is not everything, I do hope teams hoping to rebuild go about it the right way, and break up some of the monopoly on winning we have seen and likely will continue to see moving forward, until regression hits of course and teams may go through the process allllllllllll over again!
