Lyle Robideaux had never been the favorite player of any coach nor was he ever the first player chosen. He had always struggled to fit in, and he was never the most gifted athlete, but he never gave up. After starting his high school football career a couple of years in he was behind the eight ball to start. He put hours and hours into learning the playbooks and working hard with the coaches to learn the ins and outs of the game.
When he arrived at South Central Louisiana State, Lyle thought he would be able to just walk in and start for the Mud Dogs, but was shocked to find out he would have to attend a walk on try out. He impressed enough to be offered a roster spot but was red-shirted for his freshman season. This didn't deter Lyle, he once again worked hard with the linebackers coach and watch hours upon hours of video to prep for his sophmore season. When it arrived Lyle was given the starting job on the left side. Over the next 3 seasons Lyle would earn the respect and admiration of the coaches and his teammates and honored when asked to be a captain in his senior season.
This just proves that hard work pays off, which Lyle is hoping will show this year in Minnesota.
