Quote:Tier 2: Short Form Tasks (Each must be 300+ words)
Choose up to TWO for 5 TPE each.
8. This task is exclusive to non-recreate rookies of the S46 class and later. In 300 words or more, how has your experience been in the league? Who have you met that has made your time here more fun, friendly, and exciting? Have you been satisfied with your player’s early start? What was it like being drafted for the first time? Do you have any comments or suggestions for the entire league that you think should be implemented?
I’ve just been on the site for a few days, and am still drinking from a firehose with all of the new things to learn. But I do need to commend the proactive members of the community (Triceracop, 110radio,Orange) that have reached out to make sure I’m heading in the right direction. The guides have been great to get up and running, and seeing the active discord channels makes me confident if an issue did arise I could quickly get some good feedback.
It was also cool to see my dot in action so quickly, even getting a fumble recovery in my first prospect bowl! The early guides do a great job explaining TPE how to earn it, how to spend it, all that. The part I’m most confused about at the moment is the connection between my player and the actual game simulation. How are plays called, how do you assign players to the positions, how much granularity is there (for example: you’re going to line up as the 1 technique in this 4-3 set, you’re going to be subbed out on obvious passing plays, you’re going to stunt on this play call, etc). That kind of stuff would be useful to know as I apply my first TPE hoping to improve certain aspects of my game.
The guide seems to move on position swapping/retiring when I thought it might be nice right off the bat to learn more about being in the league with this prospect I just created. What should I do to improve my draft prospects, how do I see my stats in the games I play? My first few conversations with gms talked with put a big focus on position swaps and I was a little confused when creating there seemed to be two versions of the position tracker tool (https://tracker.sim-football.com/position_stats, https://www.lemonoppy.com/isfl/position-tracker) which disagreed a little bit and lemonpoppy one maybe I’m not reading it right, but the total actives can differ from the total of by year subtotals. Getting the supply and demand of these positions is tough, so I understand the focus on that. For someone brand new maybe not knowing the situation in the league it would be nice to have some confidence the player I'm making is something that’s needed before I get too invested in the concept, and spend time working on media to support the player.
