As of the time of writing, the Norfolk Seawolves are a paltry 1-2 in Season 47. My player, Quarterback Elijah Dyson, is doing all he can to keep Norfolk on the right side of the win column and is currently leading the DSFL in total touchdowns with 10 (5 passing and 5 rushing). He is carrying the team so hard that he is responsible for 10 out of the team's 12 total touchdowns on the season, and is leading the second highest-scoring offense in the DSFL.
However, much like last season, Norfolk continues to struggle, and the blame for it rests solely on what is only a defense in name.
Norfolk ranks dead last in points allowed (34/game) and is allowing nearly 440 yards per game to opposing offenses, including 500 yards surrendered to Tijuana in the third game of the season.
Elijah Dyson might be an elite Quarterback capable of playing hero ball drive after drive; but, he needs help. No man is an island and no football player can win on his own.
Tijuana Luchadores season started with losing a sim rigged game against pirates from Bondi Beach, it is unknown if this was caused by bribery or hostage situation but who the hell punts from opponents 31 yard line? But overall it wasn’t a bad game for the team and Winnicki personally with 6 tackles. Next game against Grey Ducks was Tijuana masterclass, winning 34 to nothing despite individual defensive stats not being great and no turnovers. Third game brought comfortable victory against Seawolves, despite first half looking shaky, winning turnover battle and Brandon Johnson running it up their mouth and some great passes from O’Duck allowed Luchadores to run away with the win. Personally stat wise those game were not great for me but that’s fine as long as we keep winning. Today we’re playing Portland Pythons and obviously we’re winning this game. Last season we’ve fallen short on the way to the Ultimini but this time we’re definitely gonna get it.
It has honestly been a very odd season. despite playing the same position my stats have been very different than last season but not necessarily in a bad way. My tackles have mostly been down this year, often only getting like 4-6 tackles in a game, besides one outlier game where I had 14 tackles. But then my tackles for losses especially are off the charts. In 6 games I already tied last season's output of 9 tackles for loss. And sacks are good too. So I am climbing those leaderboards, already 13th all time in tackles for loss now. Which is awesome to see. Obviously the team isn't doing well still as we are in a rebuild but it is fun to see that I am having a great season and maybe I can finally make some kind of move towards an award or pro bowl again this year if I can keep up with the stats I have.
Can't be mad at a 5-1 start. The Outlaws haven't been playing perfect football but the results are there. The Outlaws have made some changes in the off-season mainly Sutha's position swap and Purdy Mediocre's call up. They tuned their offensive strategies to fit these moves but their offense is still as dynamic as ever.
Brian Vincent-Vega before the season had hoped to recreate his magical 2062 season but it's not looking likely so far. With two missed tackles already he needs to clean up his play. He does however, have six PDs currently six games in, which is a bit of anomaly considering his career high is just eight.
The biggest threat to the season? I can't believe I'm saying it, but NOLA. The New Orleans team is better than their record. We barely beat them in a super sweaty OT thriller just two games ago and who knows what will happen the next time we face them.
With 6 games played, i think the Austin Copperheads season has been going pretty much as expected, with a 3 - 3 record so far. We knew coming into season 47 that some of the most important players faced a giant regression in the offseason, something that would make it hard to get into the playoffs. Not only that, but also the fact that some of the ASFC teams are really good, making it a crap shoot for the playoff spots, which is obvious looking at the fact that 3 of the teams are tied for 5 - 1, the best record in the league.
Being 2 wins behind the playoff spots with only 6 games played does not really paint a great picture for the remaining 10 games as one might expect, but Austin will do its best to try and get there anyway.
As for Jay Cue III, having a good season, few TDs, not a lot of INTs, that is good.
