We have 12 players with 200 or more TPE to fill 40 roster slots. 30 players created in the last recruitment drive, only 2 were Oline. We have 1 offensive lineman eligible for the S4 draft. In two seasons we have gained 3 offensive linemen in the entire league when each team averages maybe 2 active players at the position. Meanwhile the Ultimus game saw what....18 sacks? This problem is not getting better.
My suggestions to fix the problem:
1) Make better bots. Ones that scale based upon the TPE of your active Oline. I can go into more detail on some ideas I have had.
2) Buff the starting stats of the archetypes. A lot. A whole lot. 400+ TPE a lot. As it stands right now an offensive lineman maxes at 2000 or more TPE anyway, while most positions max at maybe 1200-1600. Increasing the starting stats will at least mean every team's 2-3 inactives aren't a complete liability.
3) Eliminate the position. Just get rid of offensive line as a playable position. It isn't that fun. The stats we generate really don't mean anything, there is no consistency as to what a sack allowed is or isn't. Pancakes really don't matter in football. Give everyone a free position change to whatever they want and give every team 3000 TPE to divide among 5 bots of whatever archetype they like as they see fit.
Or anything else you can come up with. But as it stands right now to stay the course is delaying the time we have to figure out a solution before this comes crashing down when all the S1 and S2 linemen retire and there is nobody left to replace them.
