Alright everyone it’s mock draft season so here I am with my mock draft. I’m gonna be doing this with the current draft order after W16 so the top 8 spots are decided and the rest are subject to change. I’ll be taking positional needs, TPE, and user fit into account for this mock. The playoff teams draft orders will be based on their regular season records.
I’ll be doing two rounds + a little extra
1.01 - COL - D’Squarius Green Jr - TE - NOR - @sonicxdoom
Colorado are in the middle of the rebuild and they only have one young receiving target on the team. In this draft they have another wide receiver to take with their GM pick but based on past seasons it’s obvious Colorado likes having tight ends with Mister Hogmally dominating for a long time and La’Fluke Paris Johnson dominating recently. La Fluke is nearing regression and is only 621 TPE so I think they bring in DSGJ to fill the Hogmally hole and sonixc is one of the best users in this class.
1.02 - NYS - Alexander Rockstone - CB - DAL - @AustinP0027
The draft order is flipped from the DSFL draft with the former 1oa pick going 2oa and the former 2oa pick going 1oa. The Silverbacks only have 2 cornerbacks, a regressing mid earner in The Riddler and S48 GM pick Widdle Warrick. Rockstone will slot next to Warrick to form New York's cornerback pairing of the future and austinpoo will be a great user for the Silverbacks (don’t ruin him zayn).
1.03 - AUS - Tua Domine - LB - KCC - @Yeenoghu
Austin is going through a youth revolution with a bunch of young offensive players entering the team. They also have a decently young defense, however their linebacking core is extremely old. Two of their linebackers aren’t going to be startable next season and star Crasher Wake is near regression. Tua can help them out immediately at the linebacker position by replacing Tank McGibbons and will eventually form their future lb core alongside Bull Dozier.
1.04 - BER - Joe Blaze - LB - MIN - @jlyles7
Linebacker isn’t necessarily a need for Belin, with them having two young max earning linebackers. Berlin takes Blaze regardless just because they can’t pass on the opportunity to pick up a great new user in lyles. Blaze has also been earning extremely well and will be able to fill in for low tpe Gaius Gleel quickly and eventually replace regressing star Mike Gesicki
1.05 - HON - Harvin Marrison - WR - POR - @Chucky
Honolulu are looking to finish up their rebuild soon, but they only have 2 strong earning receiving targets. With this selection, they pick up a consistent max earner in a position where they desperately need one. He pairs up perfectly with Brad Woof and will put Honolulu in a position to be quickly competitive.
1.06 - SAR - Devin Mace - OL - KCC - @Dev0
The Sailfish take the first offensive lineman of the draft and pick up a great user in the process. The biggest hole I saw for Sarasota was on the O-line, with no high tpe or strong earning players at the position. Mace has been max earning so far and can be the franchise tackle that Sarasota needs to protect Bugs.
1.07 - OSK - Slam Dunkinson - LB - BBB - @bfan8475
The first draft pick in Osaka Kaiju history will hopefully be a slam dunk. Osaka don't have an elite linebacker and half of their linebackers are regressing and are at mediocre tpe levels before regression. Dunkinson will be able to contribute quickly and will eventually be the Butchers star linebacker. Bfan is a great user and is a great choice to spearhead the new generation in Osaka. He almost beat me in fantasy so I don’t like him that much
1.08 - YKW - Frosty Steele - LB - NOR - @jsteele14
Yellowknife’s linebacking core is beginning to age and their LB Terry Johnson is low tpe and regressing. Steele can immediately step in to help Yellowknife go 8-8 and eventually take over for Dangerson as Yellowknife’s best linebacker
1.09 - AZ - Kim Yeon-Seok - CB - LON - @Crunk
Arizona use their first pick in the draft to pick up one of the most important users in the league. Arizona’s CB1 is in regression and crunk is a max earner who can fill that imminent hole.
1.10 - SJS - William Eaton - S - NOR - @Amidships
SJS have two mid to low earning safeties who are nearing regression and amid is a max earner who will shore up the safety position for the long term. Eaton will probably be better than The Red Panda within 2 seasons. I’m like 70% sure that amid is open to switching to LB so that also provides insurance to SJS if they can’t find a LB later in the draft to replace de Ville.
1.11 - OSK - Liggy Jiggy - CB - TIJ - @Raccoon177
Chicago Osaka are in desperate need of a cornerback. Currently they only have 2 cornerbacks rostered, I’m pretty sure safety Rico Savage plays CB for them also. Chicago Osaka has extremely high TPE Heiiajs D. Something but behind that have a regressing 575 tpe cb2 and regressing Rico Savage. They really need a CB to replace Bill Cravy who soon will be unplayable. Jiggy is the third highest cb in tpe and racoon is a great user so the Butchers Kaiju will be glad to get him this late.
1.12 - AZ - Benny the Jet - WR - MIN - @wildcatbandit
After securing Crunk, Arizona looks to it’s top positional needs, LB and WR. At this point there’s similarly earning prospects available at both positions in Benny the Jet and Billdozer. The tiebreaker is that Arizona really really needs a WR. Shane Turnbull is approaching retirement and Benji is entering the thick of regression. Arizona needs a max earning WR to pair with Jordan Bamford (the GOAT) and eventually take over WR1 duties.
1.13 - NOLA - Kevin Finnerty - TE - NOR - @ReverendOReily
This is my boldest pick by far. NOLA just got the 1 seed in the ASFC and have a young roster without many holes. The biggest holes that the eye can see is that their CBs, LBs, and pass rushers are aging. However, I think Matt Wilkins paired with Oxford Comma is enough to keep them from taking a LB here, there’s no good CBs, and Bruce White/Liv are gonna still be elite. I think the biggest problem that they have is the retirement of star tight end Bread Bowl. Finnerty is a very different type of tight end, being a blocking tight end, but I think NOLA take the chance on the new blocking TE meta entering the league to help their title push. (They could easily go with MikeWhiskey here, it depends whether or not they wanna try blocking TE strats).
1.14 - COL - Julian McMorris II - RB - BBB - @TubbyTim69
COL pick up more offensive help at the end of the first. TubbyTim is a very beloved user in Colorado and I'm sure they don’t wanna lose him. He also has stat demands which is pretty much only possible for rebuilding teams at this point and Colorado are rebuilding rn. While it’s not really a positional need, COL can make it work to secure the return of tim.
2.01 - COL - Secret Squirrel - WR - LON - @iStegosauruz
Bust
2.02 - NYS - Duke Silverback - RB - MIN - @wizard_literal
I look into my orb and determine that this is a bust
2.03 - AUS - FTBLLCMR4D RUS-KCKR-001 - LB - POR - @8bitd1ck
Rus is currently listed at LB but has expressed that he wants to move back to kicker or possibly another offensive position idk I didn’t scout. Austin have an 87 tpe kicker, Rus provides a massive upgrade at kicker if he switches back and is an amazing user for Austin to pick up this late
2.04 - BER - Connor Craig Jr. Jr. - OL - TIJ - @Dewalt27
THIS GUY STINKS
2.05 - HON - - Baymax - OL - LON - @IceBear32
-icemom
2.06 - SAR - WW Jatt - DT - NOR - @Lumosityfan
After a bunch of GM picks we finally get a real pick from Sarasota. Lumo is a max earner and a great user who would fill a need for Sarasota. Their DT is starting to hit deep regression and Jatt will be able to seamlessly replace him when the time comes. Sarasota ends up upgrading in the trenches on both sides of the ball and will come away from this pick feeling like thieves for getting a max earner and great user this late.
2.07 - CTC - Billdozer Dauterive - LB - NOR - @Kyamprac
The theoretical ultimus champs end up with a great user and earner in the mid second round at a key position. I thought about kyra at 3oa to AUS due to his connection to the team so I’m shocked I let him fall this far tbh. The entirety of CTC’s LB core is S41 and so in regression and John Stark is retiring. Their S47 LB hasn’t been on the forums since april so CTC really needs a LB. Billdozer will probably immediately start for CTC and the Crash walk away from this pick to meet with Sarasota at the thief club for getting a great user this late.
2.08 - YKW - Lucas Graves - CB - LON - @Bwestfield
Yellowknife’s cornerback core is looking really weak for the future, with 2/3 cbs regressing and nunkanblock low earning. Graves has been mid earning so far and if he continues he’ll be a solid cb2/cb3 option and he’ll be able to support this cornerback core after panda and claypool die.
2.09 - COL - Thaal Sinestro - DT - BBB - @Arctic
A lot of people have Colorado taking QB with this pick, and while that’s very possible I don’t think they will. They’re not really competing with anyone for their QB option and with no QBs off the board yet they’re not feeling pressured to take a QB. Instead, they secure arctic, another very beloved Colorado user who will be a consistent mid earner at a position of need for them
2.10 - SJS - Ajax Sakarias - WR - LON - @elixir
Wide receiver isn’t necessarily a major need for SJS, but with Flordia Man in regression and Calhoun entering regression they have to start looking for WR options. Ajax hasn’t been earning too well but he’s been a great user when around. With his current gm, Orange Julius, also on SJS, I think they take a chance on him at this point for his immense upside
2.11 - CHI - Hot Dam - DT - LON - @Painted
There is daming evidence that this guy is a bust
2.12 - AZ - Cedric Theriault - RB - DAL - @tcookie
Arizona doesn’t really need running back, BMP has another season before regression and Purdy is young. Despite the lack of need I don’t think Arizona can pass on Theriault. Theriault has quietly been a great earner for Dallas, quietly max earning player? By god that’s Arizona’s music. Theriault could probably find some sort of role in the backfield or in the passing game.
2.13 - OCO - Deacon Blues - TE - POR - @UptownCord
Blues is conning the Otters with how bad he is
2.14 - CTC - Marshall von Hildebrand - K/P - KCC - @nunccoepi
Cape Town takes goes kicker to end the 2nd round, Bob Kickerson is IA and regressing, meanwhile nunc is max earning. Marshall will probably be higher tpe than Kickerson by the end of this offseason and nunconeppi is an amazing user to get this late. CTC could absolutely go with Martavius Spencer or Serhii Strynadka to help their weak safety situation. I think the value of getting a user like nunc is higher than upgrading at safety. There’s also enough mid to low earning safeties available that they could hope one falls, nunc ain’t falling to them again though.
------------------------------------------- End of Round 2 ------------------------
2 rounds is all I planned to do but there’s too many loose end to leave it there. So I’m gonna do 4 picks from later rounds which I think are significant.
3.07 - OSK - Auto Matic - K/P - TIJ - @AJW
I just included this pick because I felt bad for leaving AJW out. AJW has been a great user and been really active in rookie chat. He only falls this far because of positional need, and Osaka really need him to start their rebrand. Their current kicker only has 176 TPE and is going to regress very hard this offseason. They absolutely need to draft a kicker this season and AJW has been a top end mid earner so far. He’s already higher TPE than Doug is right now.
Note: I think SJS take kicker at some point in this draft
Now I have the 3 QB picks
3.04 - COL - Katya Zamolodchikova - QB - POR - @fnordypsyduck
I think Colorado finally pulls the trigger on Katya with their 2nd pick in the 3rd round. They don’t really have any pressure on this pick, with OCO having their own QB in this class and Dexter Morgan also being available for any QB needy teams. It’s pretty obvious that Katya will be Colorado’s quarterback of the future and Colorado really needs him with current QB Beatz retiring. Fnordy will be a max earner for them and is an absolutely amazing user
3.08 - BAL - Dexter Morgan - QB - LON - @goodvsevil1275
Morgan is the wildcard in this season’s QB class, he doesn’t have an affiliation to any specific ISFL team like the other QBs but he’s also been the best earner in this QB class. The only team I saw that needed a QB was Baltimore with S41 Wolfie McDummy Jr. The rule seems to be 8 seasons between QBs, and S49 is 8 seasons after S41 so it works perfectly. I don’t know if Baltimore has future plans at QB, but if they don’t Morgan should be their future QB. Morgan has been the 2nd best recreate earner in the class and deserves a shot as someone’s QB
4.11 - OCO - Zack Vega Jr. - QB - DAL - @WALDO
With their first non GM pick of the draft OCO takes their next QB. Waldo spent all of his last career on OCO except his corpse season, and is pretty much locked to be OCO’s QB selection in this class. His earning has honestly not been great for his rookie season but I’m sure he’ll pick it up. It also fits the 8 season rule I mentioned earlier with Bannings being S41.
That’s all the picks I’m gonna do for my mock draft. If I didn’t include you don’t think anything of it, I don’t know anything. I hope I got most of it right but I probably got like 6 picks right out of the 32 I did.
I’ll be doing two rounds + a little extra
1.01 - COL - D’Squarius Green Jr - TE - NOR - @sonicxdoom
