Based on their current records, the matchup between the Sarasota Sailfish and the Osaka Kaiju has the makings of a great primetime matchup. Currently, the teams are vying for third place in the NSFC with the Sailfish sitting at 7-4 and the Kaiju at 6-5. Further down the NSFC table, Cape Town and Berlin both have 5-6 records. With the tight race for that fourth place spot in the division, both teams would want to do their best to finish in third, to avoid potentially slipping out of the playoff spots on the matchup with the other teams in the division. If the records are similar come Week 15, then this will be a hotly contested matchup with the winner essentially guaranteeing their spot in the playoffs. With both teams rebuilding and Osaka going through their rebrand, both teams would gain tons of much needed confidence by qualifying for the playoffs for S49.
