(S50) PT #1 - Football is Back!

Joe Cool spent the beginning of his offseason traveling, It was the first time he was able to see the word. Football is all he has ever known, camp after camp and offseason training consistently throughout his early High school and College career. After his travels Cool returned home where he spend some time giving back to his community where he grew up. He donated his first ISFL signing bonus to the Daisy Hill Puppy Farm, where he was born, in an effort to help other foster children like himself find their forever homes. After much needed rest and relaxation Joe Cool was back to work. The Royals core offense are returning to London for this upcoming season looking to repeat as regular season champs. They spent the remainder of the offseason getting back into form, hitting the gym and holding private drills to make sure everyone was in sync and ready to get the season started.

Blacksmith Andre had a very, very, long off-season. He has forgone the practicing of the football, and met with a bunch of folks from the Company "From Software" with his other guys, Solaire of Astora and Siegmeyer of Catarina. They have talked through quite a few different things, as all three of these men are trying to get back into the Dark Souls Video game, as they are just ready to go home. So instead of working towards preparing for the season, Blacksmith Andre was able to make some headway on getting back into their video games, and because From Software cares about their creations, they are stopping at nothing to make sure everyone can get back to where they belong. Blacksmith Andre, since he has been around the longest, is finding out that they might be able to get him back home sooner then the rest of the guys, since they have had more to work with from him.

The season is already under way again and the Berlin Firesalamanders have started with losing both their home games. Grand Champion, Breed Winner Regional, National Winner Princess Donut the Queen Anne Chonk however did not contribute much in these two games, so she might be the reason for losing these games as it wouldn't have happened with a Defensive Tackle that actually would do stuff. But in two games, she just has four tackles ('for the show, as she called it').

So what caused Donut to be this disinterested. Well, with the money she is making from football, she bought a new gaming laptop and she has been playing World of Warcraft now. Donut has created a Blood Elf Demon Hunter and is busy in an area filled with Dinosaurs, that she keeps showing to Mongo. 'Look Mongo it's family!'. So while levelling isn't going that well with just 2 paws, but she just enjoys the views and showing her pet velociraptor Mongo his family members. And football training? Obviously that was skipped by the lazy cat. So much for getting into shape this offseason.

The offseason is over. Preseason was done. Roy was incredibly happy that he was going to start getting some stats and wins to his team, and, of course, his name.

During this offseason Roy had decided to change his position to linebacker. The drills changed, the mentality changed, the team needed good linebackers and Roy was now determined to be the best one. The road to being a DSFL legend was about to start for him, it just wasn’t at Safety, the position he had grown used to.

This meant Roy would be much more involved in the game: rushing, tackling, covering, it was going to be all on the table, for him to feast on.

Roy had worked a lot on his strength, his speed, his tackling to get to a great start against the Dogbirds. The drills were exhausting, as they should be, and now it was finally time to get some real game time.

This S50 is a special one for Joey Battle. He will be at the peak of his abilities and he will represent the Kaiju as their best defensive player. He has been on the team now for a bit and will need to display strong leadership and drive to be a role model to the younger defensive players. He has been working hard on his stamina and intelligence as he hopes to be constantly moving in the backfield while mixing things up and being a nightmare for QBs. He has been really good in his career in tackle for losses so he hopes to continue that strong reputation and show the league what a peak Battle can do. He has been putting in a lot of film room dissecting opposing offenses and he hopes that all pays off as he hopes to be one of the most intelligent players in the league and outsmart the linemen and wide receivers as Battle will look to emphasize his versatility.

Right after another season with personal success and a league leading 150 tackles, Gesicki is starting to age and has settled into less aggressive offseason trainings then he used to. Obviously he is still a weight room regular and makes sure to keep in good shape, but relaxation and recovery have become more and more important throughout his career. The main break from the routine this year was a trip of rest and relaxation to Cozumel that Gesicki brought the entire Berlin LB core along. It was a big bonding and relaxation retreat with beaches, pools, hotels and more. When not spending time in a pool or hot tub, Gesicki made sure to bond with his fellow linebackers with party games and movies. The best part of the trip was easily the world class massages, with Gesicki felling extra loose and calm from his trip going into the season as a grizzled veteran.

JJ What took an extravagant vacation to South of France this offseason and truly enjoyed his time there, trying out wines and viewing the beautiful architecture and countryside. The vineyards were spectacular. JJ's a big fan of wine and a big fan of France as his fiancee speaks French and studied abroad there during college. Now that JJ signed his first mega contract for 28 million over 7 years, he can afford a lot more. Once JJ got back he spent a lot of time practicing though and significantly upgraded his rush move sets. JJ is transitioning into the rule of being a pure pass rusher since MJF got traded off the team. It's been working out so far since JJ is the leader of the DPOY odds so far in the ISFL, with 2 spectacular opening games, including a DPOG performance in Week 2. JJ's training regiment has been known to include a lot more yoga than normal, and he's very flexible. Maybe this will provide him an advantage over his peers? We're yet to see.

In preparation for the new season of ISFL football, Adam Journey decided to really start working on keeping his weight down once he arrived in Sarasota from his vacation in Kentucky. He first started out with controlling his diet, with him adding more fruits and vegetables, and he especially loved squash and apples and strawberries. He also likes to grill peppers and onions. He also started working on his cardio, with jogging around the stadium area being his big thing. He started reading the playbook more as remembering a couple of assignments has been a problem for him these past two seasons.

 He also really started hitting the weight room, with him actually managing to bench press 550 pounds, the most he had ever managed to bench press. Basically since he is gonna be the next starting cornerback on the team, he really started to workout like one. He actually managed to lose 20 pounds because of this, and actually fit inside a pair of his college jeans along with his old graduation robes.

Devin Mace in the offseason became the top Offensive line option for YKW and that fact was not lost on him, which means a position switch on the line as well as some serious work on agility and speed as dealing with Edge rushers requires him to become more athletic. Mace went back to his former college in the off season and worked out with some of the players but also worked out with the wrestling team and even entered into a couple tournaments much to the shagreen of the Wraiths, who were very worried he might get injured. Mace also add more morning jogging as well to help with his endurance and has really pushed himself in these areas that are not natural strengths for him. Devin also came into camp early this season to work with his offensive line coaches to work on the new gameplan from a new position.
