(S51) Late Joiner TPE Thread
The Late Joiner TPE system in place to help users that create their player after the Trade Deadline, catch up on TPE missed during the Season. How this will work is, there will be 6 prompts, 1 for each week post Trade Deadline. For each prompt you have two options for word count. You may write at least 50 words for 7 TPE or at least 150 words for 10 TPE. I.e. if you were eligible for 2 prompts, you could write two 50 word prompts for 14 TPE, two 150 word prompts for 20 TPE, or one 50 word prompt and one 150 word prompt for a combined 17 TPE. The amount of prompts that you are allowed to complete will correspond with the week of your player's creation. This is only open for players entering the Season 52 ISFL Draft. The deadline to complete this is the start of the ISFL playoff stream.

To get this graded, a PPT Team Member will go through and edit your post, either approving or denying it, and once that has happened, you may link it to your update thread for the appropriate amount of TPE. There is no partial TPE for a prompt.

I created this player as a line backer because of my love for Ray Lewis. I also chose the number 52 because of it. There has not been anyone that has more passion in the position compared to him. His charisma and passion for the game really spoke out to me when I watched him as a child. I hope to at least replicate his production on the field with the player that I created, Bamba Jamin. The defensive side of the field was always my favorite side. Shutting down the opposing offense and stopping them from scoring always gave me a thrill whenever I did play football. Line backer was my first choice, but if I had to choose another position, it would have to be safety. The reason for that would be Kam Chancellor. It basically fits into the theme of Ray Lewis but in a safety's body. I'm excited to see what Bamba can do!

I am pretty new to this league, so I wasn't really aware of any of the team logos before today. I decided to open up the google drive and see what every team had to offer. First, I was absolutely blown away by the quality of the graphics; they are all well-crafted and I think any one of them could easily be someone's favorite based on quality alone. Which means that I need to fall back on my opinion to figure out which is my favorite. I wanted to say the Kansas City Coyotes are my favorite because that's where I'm from and I also enjoy coyotes, but it isn't the one that stood out to me the most (though it was pretty close). That honor is the Fire Salamander from Berlin. He's got an attitude and just plain badassery that just seemed natural for the given subject, and the one loose "arm" really sends home that he is about to ruin your day. My least favorite is probably the London Royals, but only because it reminds me of the MGM Grand logo so it feels like they are a casino and want to take all my money.

It's hard to say because there are so many good brands. I'll start with my top 5 favourite team brands those are 
Osaka   
Orange County Otters 
New Orleans Second Line 
Minnesota Grey Ducks 
Kansas City Coyotes 

First things first let's go over what I think is good branding
Good Colors 
Simple logo

and out of these few teams, I'd say I like Osaka's the most. and I wouldn't say it fits my criteria the best but I Love the colors and the logo.

The rest of the teams in the league branding IMO is equally bad but New Orleans is definitely the worst. the second line doesn't even seem like a proper name. what is a second line and how does it relate to football? I want a New Orleans team but any team name is better than that. although NOLA has the worst branding I would say that they don't have the worst logo that would go to TIJ as I hate any logos with text on them

My player number mostly has meaning irl, it is my favourite number and has been my number in all the sports I play. I don't know why I picked this number but since I was like 10 I've always loved this number I guess it could be in part because its a prime number and I've always liked prime numbers but then at that time I didn't know what a prime number was

- What is your favorite part of the league so far and are there any users that have really helped you get involved?

I just came back after a long hiatus and a lot has changed, so I don’t know how much I can comment on my favorite part “so far”... however, I can comment on what I loved about the league during my initial time here, which probably ran from S2 to around S23 or S24. And that was the community. Specifically, the community within the individual teams. It felt great to be part of something. We are all working together to build something, competing against the other teams to get the most TPE, to keep others active, to stay on top of scouting, etc. It was a team effort across the board. And, in my experience, the most successful teams were the ones that shared the workload. And that meant a lot to me. When I first started, it took me a few seasons to get acquainted, but I moved into a co-GM role around S5 and started getting more involved. When I became a GM later on in S13, I brought that same mentality with me, looking for players that wanted to be part of the process and trying to keep them as involved as they were willing to be. That way, when we find success, we can feel like it’s something we did together. Even though I’ve been gone a long time, I know that type of teamwork is something vital to the league’s continued success and I know that the fact that the league is still here today is a sign that many people have worked hard to keep it going strong. I don’t know if I’ll ever be as active behind the scenes as I was back then, but I hope I can do my part to help the people that are working hard to drive my future team’s success feel like their efforts are appreciated. My history is one of a player that dove into the league headfirst and slowly burnt out. My first two players were 1000+ TPE stars. The stats weren’t always on my side, but the effort was certainly there. People knew that I was a player that would put the work in. And, when I walked away from my role as Arizona GM, I hoped that reputation would follow me through the league. Unfortunately, I was burnt out and it was showing. My third character, Baby Yoda, was a complete meme character. I had a blast with it, but at that point, it was more about committing to the bit than staying invested in the league. I wanted my team to succeed, but even as a player, the drive to stay on top of TPE was fading. I believe Yoda did reach 1000 TPE, but once I crossed that threshold, I tapped out and let my character coast. I went inactive and just sat back and enjoyed the fruits of my labor. My plan was to come back and recommit when it was time to recreate, but the flame was gone and the next character went inactive fairly quickly. Another player would follow, but he went inactive just as quickly, if not sooner. Anyone looking at my history objectively would have to approach me with a great amount of risk. There’s a high probability, at least statistically, that this is the next character to come in and be a DSFL lifer. And I accept that with open arms. The only way to get rid of a reputation like that is to work hard over time to disprove it. And I’d like to think that’s the path ahead for me, that Braxton East is the next great DE,a player that will start off strong in the race for TPE and keep the momentum going season after season. At least, under the old model, D-Line was a position that didn’t need a lot of TPE, but the ones that racked up high TPE could last forever, playing through regression and building incredible legacies for themselves. The position also carries lower risk because, if I do find myself tapping out after 200-300 TPE, I still offer some value to teams as a role player. And I’m realistic about the viability of this character given the patterns with my last few characters. In truth, I have missed the league, but I didn’t want to come back when there were too many IRL variables at play. I’m not diving in as hard this time simply because that wasn’t sustainable for me when I did. So, I probably won’t be helping play test and going through rookie profiles on a regular basis to make detailed draft boards. But I plan to be heavily active. It won’t hurt my feelings if I don’t go early in the DSFL or ISFL draft. As cool as it would feel There’s too much risk in my past for me to expect that. My focus is on providing value to the team that drafts me. I’m not tanking my value, but the further I fall, the better it is for the team that picks me up. Where you’re comfortable grabbing is ultimately up to you as a GM, but my goal is to make sure it’s worth it. It doesn’t matter where you pick me, but if you do bring me in, I want you to look back on that as a good choice. I’m a low maintenance player. I want our team to have plenty of cap space to go after good free agents, so I’ll probably take a low contract. Whatever the minimum. I’m also loyal. If the team has a good social environment, I could probably stay there for my career. I needed a new change of scenery back in the Baby Yoda days, but a big part of that  was just me trying to keep things fresh and fight burnout. I had great runs with Yellowknife and Arizona, but enough time has passed that I’m sure they would feel like different teams by this point, so for the most part, any time is practically a brand new experience. As far as my DSFL career, assuming I don’t go IA, that will be up to the ISFL team that drafts me. If they want to call me up immediately, I’m game for that. But I’m also comfortable smashing rookies at max TPE for another season if that makes the most sense for the team (assuming DSFL caps work the way they did 25 seasons ago). Overall, I’m super excited to be back and I have no expectations beyond those I place on myself. Let’s hope that this player is more in line with my first few and not the DSFL veterans that followed them.. (806 Words)

When I first came to this website, the first thing I did was browse through the teams in the league. Easily my favorite part of any league is team branding. When I saw the amount of quality work done for all of these teams I was genuinely impressed. So many great logos and colors schemes it almost makes it impossible to pick a favorite. I was really only able to narrow it down to two. Osaka has my favorite logo by far. Great color scheme and such a cool concept for a team name. Honolulu is the other favorite and that mostly comes down to how fun their name is to say along with gray logo design. If I had to pick a least favorite I would probably say Orange County, and that really only comes from me thinking Orange does not look at good. Logo design is still cool, just a lot of Orange.

Every sport I've ever played, i have always picked number 17. I'm not sure exactly what drew me to 17, I just always found it a satisfying number to see. Like the post above mine I also wonder if it's because it's a prime number, even though I did not have a concept of prime numbers when I first started wearing it. Even now a lot of my favorite athletes across multiple sports wear this number. My favorite NFL team is the Rams and a new favorite of mine on that team is Puka Nacua wearing my favorite number. I also loved watching Phillip Rivers growing up and he also wore this number. And now over in the baseball world i get to watch Ohtani break records with this number. When it comes to picking a number it always seemed like it would never really mattered, but I knew I always felt my best when I was able to wear my favorite number 17.

10 TPE - Week 1 Creation - Prompt 

Hello everyone, I’m very excited to have the opportunity to play in the DSFL! Thank you for all the support so far, the rookie discord has been awesome for all of the questions and resources, and everyone is quick to respond. 

Now let’s jump into why I write this prompt today, and that is to give @Greenbaynathan a shout out as being the first, and so far only, GM to reach out to me to ask me some questions about joining their organization. I’m here to reiterate that I believe I would be a great fit for the Norfolk Seawolves, not only because of my family roots in the area, and I’d like to keep this DAWG on the East coast, but I also believe I can be pretty active and grow quickly. I was also sent the invite to the Seawolves discord server, so I think that’s pretty good headway for things to come. 

Many friends ask me, “Zen, would you be mad if Norfolk passes on you if they have the opportunity to draft you?” I told them I wouldn’t be mad, just disappointed. 

And if Norfolk isn’t meant to be, then please, I do not want to play in Dallas. No disrespect to that organization, it’s just rooted in my bones that I cannot go back to Dallas at any capacity. They had delayed a flight of mine and were pretty rude about it, so I have loathed that city since. However, if they do, for whatever wicked reason, draft me, I will always play hard and fast.

Prompt 1: What is your favorite part of the league so far and are there any users that have really helped you get involved?

My favorite part of the league is the community building the league brings. We all unite over our love of a digital football team and forge both rivalries and friendships over it. As a GM I think it is my job to create my own community in OCO and I think the best way I do that is by scouting. Scouting allows me to have a one on one conversation with the users and get to know them on a significantly more personal level. Looking back, I remember how I was brought in by London and how the community there grew steadily. To be frank, our LR wasn’t the most active at the time yet we slowly grew and watching London turn into a powerhouse was one of my favorite memories. People who really stood out at the start of my career were Croney, Hudz and most of all Joe Steel who are all still present within the league. (159)

Prompt 2: The ISFL has quite a few branding amongst its two leagues. Which branding are your favorite? Which are your least favorite?

When it comes to branding, I have very strong opinions on who are elite and who are subpar. I am going to go ahead and exempt the teams I have played for as I think both of them are in the upper echelon of logos. When I think of logos and colors that could use a rework two teams come to mind. The first of whom is a DSFL team in the Norfolk Seawolves. I think the city of Norfolk and the mascot are fantastic. I just believe that Norfolk's logo could use an update and that Norfolk may want to explore the option of adding another color or replacing their secondary color. Dallas and Minnesota both are associated with the color blue and while the navy is nice, I think it is often drowned out by the other branding. In the ISFL I think the team that needs a rebrand is the San Jose Sabercats. While I know they are apart of the original teams, their color scheme leaves more to be desired as I never love tan in a uniform. (182)
