"I'm gonna be the best fucking quarterback this league has ever seen! I threw nine thousand yards last season and at least a hundred touchdowns! I've had sex with every one of your wives and I haven't even met them yet! I throw balls so hard I break my receivers hands!"
Those were the words straight out of the mouth of the NSFL's newest quarterback prospect Luke Boechler in his latest interview where he declared he would be in the draft next season. Boechler comes out of Holy Cross High School which is the past home of current player Ryan Cobalt, but instead of being an asshole like Cobalt, Cross has this time made a drunk asshole of Boechler. A quick search on Instagram of @YoungGreekBoy will bring you to the page of this hometown star, who has become both a fan favorite and not so family friendly member of Saskatoon's football community. Having been a player for the Nutana Raiders in his time in the Kinsmen Football League out of Saskatoon, parents of his team mates told our interviewer that Boechler first came to a game drunk (or high, they weren't sure at that point) at the age of ten, which was later confirmed by his team mates who showed their parents a video of him taking shots of Fireball during his fifth period class. According to the parents involved, this was a disgusting act, and they were ashamed to have Boechler on the team but after a followup with his parents found his father Greg Boechler at their home with three heroine needles sticking out of both arms and a crack pipe still pressed between his lips, the lines began to become less blurred.
Boechler was taken into foster care after the passing of his father (and the disappearance of his mother in the arms of a twenty two year old rich business tycoon from Regina who owned Bannock Bed and Breakfast) where he began to continue to fall into the pit of drugs and alcohol. At the age of eleven Boechler was arrested by what he described to be "a red and blue devil riding the wings of an aggressively obese pony" (a mounted police officer) after his teams' parents had suspicion that he was dealing crack to his team mates and had ten grams confiscated from his persona. He was taken into rehab that December where he underwent five months of rehab before being released.
Almost immediately after leaving the rehab center, Boechler was issued a DUI at the age of twelve after he stole his foster mom's vehicle and drove it into a light post two blocks away from the house. His foster mother reported hearing a loud bang before she came out and found Boechler with a bottle of gin in his hand and a grin on his face. She called the cops and had him arrested before calling the foster care facility and asking for a transfer because she didn't think it was fair she had been handed the devil. Boechler got out of juvenile detention at the age of fifteen, seeming to have cleaned up. He enrolled at Holy Cross High School and begun his work to lead the team to a provincial championship, taking on the backup role as quarterback in his sophomore year. He started two games and threw for a total of three hundred yards with two touchdowns, taking home wins in both games.
In his junior year Boechler became the starting quarterback, and played alongside Cobalt for the first time officially. The two became quick friends and reportedly hung out on the weekends and would drink entire kegs to themselves. Cobalt's parents often mark Boehcler as the reason that Cobalt has such bad anger management problems, and possibly even the fact that Cobalt gets suspended all the time. After a year of relative mediocrity in his sophomore season, Boechler was ready to break free and be a threat and he did exactly that, destroying enemy defenses time after time to win the top quarterback award for the Saskatoon high school league in his first season with the team. He was one of the best quarterbacks to ever play in the city, posting a massive amount of yards and breaking a provincial touchdown record.
He returned in his senior year this season after a disappointing loss in the provincial finals to the LaBoldus Bulls and immediately began taking over the league once again. He broke his own touchdown record only five games into the season and set the passing yards record all while breaking a quarterback rushing yards record including three rushing touchdowns. There seemed to be nothing the man couldn't do until he was diagnosed with liver cancer part way through the season. Lucky for him an organ donor gave him a new liver, and it was like a complete restart on life. He was a totally different person, and got out on the field and had the best season ever seen in any football league ever. He posted the most insane stat line anyone has ever imagined, including a whopping seven hundred yards against the E.D Feehan Trojans in the city finals. Following that massive performance he took to provincials where his team would meet against the LaBoldus Bulls in the round robin, handing them their first loss in almost ten seasons.
It wasn't over there though as Boechler took home the provincial championship by going undefeated and amassing 108 points off of plays he made. He will never be questioned as the best player to ever play the game from Saskatoon, and will be much better than that scrub Antonio Summer or his enemy Ryan Cobalt. These three players are reshaping the game and will be the face of football for years to come, but obviously Luke Boechler is the best of them. Keep watching, because you're gonna want this demon on your fantasy team in about a years time. He is the best ever. Period.
