As you guys know, I am kind of a fan of TPE, so I love talking about the draft and preventing as many bad mocks as I can. Normally this is done in the form of sending out my own mock before things kick off, but then you learn other shit as well, and...yeah.
This year, I decided to do something different, and just provide some guidelines and tips to help ensure solid mock drafts.
#1: SJS needs DL more than anything else. I think Riposte makes the most sense, but Smyles is right up there as well. I advised my LR to go with Riposte, though.
#2: Baltimore said pre-draft that Maddox is gonna be their pick. Definitely surprising, as they are pretty loaded on receivers, but there it is.
#3: Arizona is not going offense with the 3rd pick unless Mughes and Hornbacher are taken (more on Hornbacher later).
#4: Whichever DL you didn't pick number 1, I would pick here...or Hornbacher. Philly lost Kamaka, Davidson, and Bly, so they need 2 DL, one of them someone decent, and need a CB to replace Bly (though Bush can 2-way for now)
#5: COL needs...everything. Hornbacher is the only one I would rule out to COL, as he said he would only sign for 2 years and then only extend his contract with a playoff team.
#6: Garrad has not posted since 5 November. This isn't necessarily OCO specific, but a lot of folks have him as a first rounder, so figured I should mention that.
#7: BAL has 2 empty DL spots, and pretty much no other holes. I'd probably go DL here.
#8: AdamS stepped down as GM partly so his team wouldn't be obligated to pick him in the second round, so they aren't going to pick him in the first. Add to that Bayley's recreate as an RB, and it seems a given he doesn't go to NOLA in the first (or any other RB).
I hope these tips are helpful.
