Morgan Marshall has announced his decision to declare for the DSFL draft.
The Princeton senior’s announcement Monday follows a breakout year for Marshall, who started all ten games for the Tigers and played a major role in the team’s 10-0 record and Ivy League championship. He rushed for 1349 yards on 219 carries, third all time for the Princeton program, and added 310 yards through the air on 36 catches, contributing 17 rushing and 3 receiving touchdowns.
In Marshall’s announcement letter, he expressed his enthusiasm to make it to the next level of his lifelong dream, and thanked his coaches and teammates for their support.
“I’m honored to be taking this next step in my football career. I wouldn’t have been able to make it without my coaches, the support staff, and my fellow players for their constant guidance and encouragement, and hopefully I’ll be able to make the most of this opportunity and progress to the NSFL in due time.”
The 6’0”, 200-pound Maryland native played cross-country for two years in college before making the jump to football. Marshall saw limited action in his junior year, and was slated to played the backup role in senior year before presumptive starter Charlie Volker went down with an ACL tear at the start of Princeton’s week one game against Butler. From there, Marshall took the starting job and never looked back.
“Morgan’s a strong player, strong-willed, the ultimate competitor,” said Tigers head coach Bob Surace when reached out for comment. “He’s a real team player and clearly a fantastic talent on and off the field. He has good decision-making, good shiftiness, versatility in the running and passing game. I’m confident he will find major success at the next level, no doubt about it. Whichever team ends up drafting Morgan won’t regret it.”
