Oregon junior linebacker Tony "The Big Salami" Gabagool has announced his intentions to declare for the draft. The Butkus award runner up has helped his team to a Rose Bowl win, leading the Pac 12 in tackles, sacks, and defensive touchdowns. A renowned high school quarterback who led his team to two provincial titles in British Columbia, he was scouted more as a linebacker due to his build. He also was mentored by Steve Nash and competed on a junior level for the Canadian Mens Basketball team, coached by Nash himself.
He is of course well known for being the son of Anthony Gabagool Sr., the mafia leader that famously went into hiding after the Wars of Newark. Anthony Sr. still has not been located and Tony has not seen his father since the whole family relocated to an island off the coast of British Columbia. Tony has since made amends with the mafia leaders that his father scorned in the past. Oregon would only allow Tony to play after they had assurances that he was in no danger due to his father's past.
Gabagool has been described as hard working, funny, a natural leader, and someone with a true love of the game. His coaches have lauded his down to earth, blue collar nature, and are excited to see what he can bring to the next level.
