Welcome everybody to my official presser before the DSFL draft, ask questions and I’ll answer them at 9:00 PM EST.
Thanks!
What goes through your mind seeing a 300 pound 6 foot 5 man rushing towards you and knowing you have to take the hit?
Well. I can tell you right now that no quarterback necessarily wants to get hit by a large, angry man. But when you do, you just think - “man, this is going to hurt in the morning.” You take your Advil and you pray. Luckily for me, and quarterbacks like me, we have mobility and the awareness to escape a lot of pressure situations. For myself, I wouldn’t say I rely on it as much as I rely on my pocket awareness, but it’s an extra trick up my sleeve to make an impact.
Who of the DSFL draft prospects are you most excited to throw the ball to?
I would hate to single somebody out and upset the others if I don’t mention them by name, but for me I’m looking at Nacho Varga. I think that elusiveness and run after the catch ability is such a powerful weapon to have on your side and bring out in every facet of the game. I’d be looking to throw to him deep, in the intermediate game, and let him turn nothing into something as a checkdown option. Of course, you also always want a speed receiver like Ahri as one of your main options. You can’t teach that.
Are you ready for the Prospect Bowl?
I’m as ready as I’ll ever be, right? The only prospect bowl I can play, I feel... excited, first of all. All of the hard work and the effort can sometimes feel intangible. If you play poorly, maybe lose an important game, you can mentally struggle. But I think this territory can come as motivation, and it absolutely does for myself. I just love football and want to play football. Bring on the prospect bowl and any other challenges!
Are you a scruncher or a folder?
Scruncher. In this house, we don’t waste time. No compromises.
Do you prefer to be tied up with leather or lace?
Thanks!
