It's now been over two weeks since star corner back Anthony Rowland announced he would be looking to play in the National Simulation Football League in S15. Rowland is a great corner back prospect who has been all over the radar of general managers across the league as he is showing he is one of the fastest players to ever hit the field and has some great hands to go along with it. Rowland is the type of guy who you can depend on to make every interception and be a great coverage guy, but teams shouldn't look for him to be reliable when it comes to making tackles. His game is super interception heavy and he doesn't work a whole lot on his strength, but he's a good player none the less. With the draft getting closer, many teams are considering Rowland for a top end pick but they don't know enough about him to really make the decision, so we've got some scouting reports collected for you from NFL teams who had previously looked at Rowland before he said he was going to the NSFL.
Pittsburgh Steelers
Anthony Rowland is a top notch defensive back prospect. He has very good hands and an insane ability to read the play and get on his man. His speed is definitely the best part of his game and he uses it all the team to trick the quarterback into thinking his man is open when really he is just around the corner, ready to turn on the burners and move his way towards the ball and get the pick. Rowland is a risky pick though because he isn't known for being the strongest player, and struggles to make the tackle.
Indianapolis Colts
Rowland is the type of player every defensive coach dreams of. He's got speed, agility, hands, and can read the play like no one else. If you're looking for a guy who can shut down an offense, Rowland is the best guy. Be careful though, and make sure you have a good supporting cast around him because he won't make the tackle if he misses the ball. Pass deflections and interceptions sure, but tackles? Never.
Dallas Cowboys
Speed is the first thing you should think of when you see Rowland out on the field. He is pure speed, and man does he have a lot of it. This guy can hunt you down and get in the way of the ball no matter where you are on the field and he's good at getting it too. If you want coverage, he's your man, but be careful slotting him in on a fast receiver because if he gets burnt he's going to lose the tackle and the man will get away clean.
So as you can see, Anthony Rowland has some great praise from NFL GM's, and if you're a DSFL GM you should really be looking at him. He's a great player, and will be the top defensive back on your team. Rowland is a difference maker for sure.
