10 Reasons why you should draft Mo Berry.
1. Mo Berry is the most versatile linebacker in the draft.
While Mo Berry's stats may not jump out as the best in one category they do however manage to be across the board great. Mo Berry ended the year with the San Antonio Marshals with 88 total tackles. When it came to shooting the gap Berry blasted the running backs for a loss 3 times. When it came to making plays in the coverage game Berry proved that as well. With 8 pass deflections on the year Mo Berry ranked 2nd out of the linebackers in that category behind Allen Josh.
2. Mo Berry creates turnovers.
Mo Berry can also take the ball away whether it is by forcing fumbles or intercepting the quarterback. Mo Berry had 1 force fumble and 2 interceptions this year. While these numbers may not be too flashy but his play also caused his teammates to make plays as well in causing turnovers. The San Antonio Marshals recorded 7 forced fumbles, 6 fumble recoveries, and 26 interceptions. They Marshals also converted these turnovers into points as well by scoring 5 touchdowns.
3. Mo Berry preforms better when the lights shine brighter.
In their only playoff game this season Mo Berry turned it up a notch with his defensive play. Although no turnovers we're created he could definitely be seen as one of the best players on the field for this game. Mo Berry recorded 9 tackles and the only sack of the game for the Marshals. Expect Berry to bring big time play to big time games in the NSFL.
4. Mo Berry is a leader.
While being his first year in the pro level Mo Berry didn't waste anytime setting the tone in the Marshal locker room. If there was work to be done Berry made sure to stay on top of his teammates to being in the weight room working out or being in the film room making sure they understand their assignments for the week. Be mindful that Berry will bring this same work ethic to the team that drafts him.
5. Mo Berry does not like to lose.
It's well documented that Berry hates losing. He has talked to the media before about the struggles of playing at the University of Nebraska and how horrible coaching caused the program to falter. At the Prospect bowl Berry helped lead the Pacific Owls to the prospect bowl championship and winning. This year Berry and company were single handly the best regular season team with a record of 13-1. After losing in the first round of the playoffs, Berry was seen in the locker room visibly upset. Berry slammed his helmet against the locker and shouted "If I get sent down. We run this shit back. Same teams it don't go down like this again. I'm here one more year that [explitive] trophy is coming to [explitive] San Antonio. If you want a passionate player who will give his all you best draft Berry.
6. Berry is one of the nicest team mates to have.
If you ask any player from the Marshals they will tell you how Berry is one of the nicest players in the locker room. "Every day Mo always right there in the front telling you good morning when you walk in the doors." Mister Big Chest stated to me about how he always can count on Berry being there. @shadyshoelace Nero Alexander simply put, "Mo Berry, Fewer Problems." Alexander went on to say that with Mo Berry in the locker room things tended to have order in the process of preparing every week. "With Mo, things felt more routine, if it wasn't he would make sure to right the situation." @Duilio05 Walt Green laughed and said "Mo Berry, More the merrier". Grinning, Green referenced how Berry is usually clowning and joking around with everyone in the locker room during down time.
7. Mo Berry will be in the league for a long time.
Mo Berry has been doing everything he can to make sure he last as long as he can in the league. From aerobics, weight training, yoga, cryotherapy. Any way to keep his body in peak shape for years to come Mo Berry has been doing it.
8. Mo Berry is open to playing different positions in order to win.
Berry has stated now that because of his own ability Berry would be able to play any position on the field in order to win championships. You could line him up off the edge or he can drop back and play nickel safety.
9. Mo Berry is loyal.
Mo Berry is as loyal as they come. Mo will do anything for his teammates. @terriblehippo Quenton Bode stated, "Mo Berry: Always my Bash Brother" with a teary eyes. Bode explained that Berry has been there for him since their days in college. Berry and Bode arguably both in the top 3 linebackers in the upcoming draft have had each other's back on and off the field. Berry explained his relationship with Bode "that's my ride or die. I do anything for my bash bro. Ill be there for him no matter who drafts me. Which brings me to whoever drafts me. You get a player for life I ain't team switching."
10. Mo Berry brings the sacks (lunches)
Mo Berry is also known for bringing foods and snacks to his teammates during walk through days. One big food day was at the start of this off season Mo Berry finally fulfilled a promise some though he wouldn't keep. Earlier in the year Mo Berry promised his fellow prospect bowl team members a trip to HuHot Mongolian Grill. Due to not receiving his rookie payday til the start of the season Berry was unable to deliver. Once the off-season began Berry dialed up all the Pacific Owls for a Meetup. Almost every Owl showed up. The best part of the Meetup was the reconciliation of @shipwreckrising Gabagool and Berry. Gabagool was burned by Berry's promise of Mongolian beef which left a rivalry between each other. The two put the "beef" behind one another and took selfies for each other's Instagrams.
If these 10 reasons don't convince you to draft Mo Berry, I don't know what would.
