In this article I desperately need money so I'm going to write about the Pro-Bowlers for the Portland Pythons and go over their season and project where if they haven't been drafted to the majors yet where they could go! The Portland Pythons won it all in the DSFL so they for sure are going to have a lot of players to talk about! So without further ado, let's get this bread folks!
Franklin Armstrong, QB | Starter
First off we have none other than the legendary Franklin Armstrong, Quarterback of the Portland Pythons! Franklin is the starter for the NFC All-Stars and has legit stats to show why he was the best QB in the DSFL and why he deserves this spot. For starters, Armstrong played all 14 games and proved he could stay healthy. Secondly, he had the highest quarterback rating in the DSFL sitting at a solid 86 flat QBR. He completed 38 fewer passes but only trailed the passing yards leader by 86 yards, he threw for 2,614 passing yards. He threw the most Touchdowns in the DSFL sitting at 22 and only threw 11 interceptions. The one thing Franklin Armstrong could really work on and develop going into the Pros is his accuracy. He had a 59.8% passing accuracy which isn't relatively bad per se but if he could work on one thing that would be it for sure. Franklin Armstrong is a first rounder in every way possible and should be the first pick in the draft in my opinion and damn will be the first quarterback taken.
Kermit Stronglegs, HB | Reserve
I'm not really sure exactly where Kermit Stronglegs will be drafted but I do know the dude is a workhorse and any team would be thrilled to have him. He ran for nearly 500 yards on the season with 497 and averaged 5.4 yards per carry. He had for touchdowns and his longest run on the season was 80 yards so you know he's got breakaway speed to gain those huge gains. I couldn't imagine him falling too far down the draft.
Bona'beri Jones, WR | Starter
BOY, if you want big fucking play potential you got it here with this man. Jones is a fucking athletic freak and will destroy any cornerback you pair up with him. He led the league in yards with 964 receiving yards on ONLY 59 catches! That is a 16.3 average per catch that is literally insane. Dude is a big play machine and a human highlight reel. Oh, I forgot to mention he had 14 TOUCHDOWNS!? This man will dominate any level of talent and would be a quarterback's best friend once he makes it to the pros.
Roman Stakowski, TE | Reserve
Roman had a quieter year but still managed to make the Pro Bowl as a reserve. He had 411 receiving yards on 58 caught passes. The leading receiver had one more catch than him but doubled his yards. Roman was a safety blanket for Franklin as he seems to be Armstrongs favorite 3rd down receiver. Roman will make a great TE in the Pros but it just might take him a little longer to become a star.
Gregor Clegaine, OL | Starter
The only offensive lineman on the Pro Bowl roster has got to say something am I right?
CrayCray Lewis, DE | Starter
Lewis was on a stacked defense and sacks were hard to come by. He managed to rally in 4 sacks but what really stood out was the 10 tackles for loss. He even managed to secure a safety during this season. He only had 26 tackles but I expect great things from this man once he gets some pro coaching to help him develop into an amazing pass rusher.
Frasier Crane, DE | Reserve
Crane was only able to secure one sack on the season but he was an absolute unit in the rush defense as he had 14 tackles for loss! Add 22 tackles to that and he is an elite run defender that just needs some coaching to help with his pass rush abilities.
AJ Lattimer, DT | Starter
Lattimer had 22 tackles on the season and 1 tackle for loss. To be honest a lackluster season but he was surrounded by major talent on this Portland Pythons defense. Someone was bound to get left out and it so happens to be Lattimer stat wise as he still managed to make the Pro Bowl a s a starter!
Leighton Lee, LB | Starter
Now we get to talk about my favorite position group and I'm totally not biased at all I swear. Leighton Lee was drafted to the Arizona Outlaws in the second round last year but decided to stay down one more year with his fellow draftee and teammate on both the Pythons and the Outlaws, Gekyume Stokeley. (We will get to him in a minute.) Lee dominated all opponents on any level of the game. He led the league in tackles sitting at a 150 and it wasn't even close for the next one up. Add 2 sacks and 4 tackles for loss to that resume as he can rush the passer and stop the run. Not to mention the dude can defend the pass as well? He had 1 interception and 4 passes defended. Oh, not to also mention he had 3 forced fumbles. This dude is a truly a gifted specimen and he is making every team that passed on him highly regret it now.
Gekyume Stokeley, LB | Starter
So not only did Gekyume and Lee start next to each other in Portland, but they also will start next to each other in the Pro Bowl and in the Pros next year for the Arizona Outlaws. What a magnificent duo that could play their careers together and be the best LB duo in the history of the NSFL. Gekyume had 103 tackles and only 1 tackle for loss so he struggled to get behind the line of scrimmage and stop runs but he excelled at pass rushing tallying up 5 sacks! Also, not to mention that he too is great in coverage as he also like his partner got 1 interception and 4 passes defended. This duo is going to dominate next year for the Arizona Outlaws.
Lanzer Grievous, LB | Reserve
Portland had 3 stout Pro Bowl linebackers. Lanzer didn't get the starter role here but still had an amazing season alongside Gekyume and Leighton. He had 92 tackles and 1 tackle for loss, seems like he too struggled to get in the backfield to stop the runs like Gekyume. He had 1 sack but he forced 3 fumbles. Dude hits like a truck. And to tie it all in together he had 4 passes defensed so he can do a little bit of everything like his two teammates. I could see this man going in the first round or the top of the second also like his fellow teammates.
Emondov Emoji, CB | Starter
Emoji doesn't appear to be a ball-hawking corner but more appears to be a solid cover guy that can support the run. He only had 1 interception but he had 14 passes defended. Add 62 tackles to that and he had a pretty good season all around but could use some work on them hands.
Xerxes Ridley, CB | Reserve
Ridley had a fairly similar season to his teammate Emoji but was a little bit shy from making it as a starter. Ridley had 50 tackles and 1 fumble recovery so he's not shy from getting dirty. He tallied up 1 interception too along with 11 passes defended. He too will need to work on catching but I doubt it will be hard once he moves up to the pros.
Richard D'Attoria V, FS | Starter
Richard played FS but played much more like a SS during the season. He was an excellent Blitzer, tallying up 7 sacks on the season. Meanwhile, he can also stop the run like a true box safety, he had 64 total tackles, 1 tackle for loss and to add to that had 2 forced fumbles and 3 fumble recoveries. You can say this man is not afraid of getting to the ball in any way. He could work on his coverage but he's not a complete liability there as he recorded 1 interception and 1 pass defended. If you need a tone-setter in your secondary this is your man.
Alex Dasistwirklichseinnachname, K | Starter
97.7 extra point percentage and a 91.3 field goal percentage. Dude is a monster and deserved to be here after an amazing season.
RKANSAW N/A, PR | Starter
He wasn't a huge highlight reel but he managed to accumulate the most punt return yards over anyone else with 245 yards returned on 39 attempts, 6.4 average per return. His longest return was a 40 yarder and didn't manage to ever take one to the house but a 40-yard punt return is still impressive nonetheless.
That concludes the Portland Pythons Pro Bowlers! They have 16 players participating which seems to be really impressive. Will be huge to see who returns to this team next year to try and go for a repeat. Congrats to all of these guys and good luck to the ones who haven't been drafted yet and I hope you end up where you guys want to. I'd love to have any of you guys on the same team with me on the Arizona Outlaws, especially if you play on defense! We would dominate the pros! so good luck to everyone and hope you enjoyed this little article that I really need money for! haha
