The Season 16 DSFL Draft took place on the 6th of May, and whilst it wasn't as big as the probably historic season 15 draft, it still looks as if it will be filled with future stars and actives. Without adieu, lets break down Kansas City's picks.
[div align=\\\"center\\\"]Team Needs: Nearly everything except QB[/div]
[div align=\\\"center\\\"]Kansas City really struggled last season. The loss of Terry Taffy due to being called up to the Yeti will certainly impact the offense, and whilst Cameron Olsen is certainly a star, he cannot be expected to carry the burden of the offense. Rose Jenkins is a top level quarterback, and whilst I said they don't need a quarterback in this draft, they will certainly need one next draft. They cannot expect Rose to stay in the DSFL much longer as Joilet begins to regress.[/div]
[div align=\\\"center\\\"] Jaylen Storm[/div]
Jaylen Storm is a pretty talented safety who specializes in center fielding. At the DSFL level, there's reason to believe he'll be talented. His speed and agility aren't eye-popping numbers, but someone for someone coming out of college, he has impressive speed and agility. His offseason work outs with various DSFL and Kansas City receivers and coaches have improved his hands, and that hopefully will result in more interceptions. KCC really needed help on defense last season, whilst certainly improved, will need some more help considering the departure of Fraiser Crane and Ryan Leaf Jr. Storm's going to provide some much needed relief for Lightsout Lewis, and hopefully the smart GM's in Kansas City got an idea how they would want to use this pick
Grade: A. Didn't draft a QB when you have a top QB in Rose Jenkins. Provides needed help for Lightsout Lewis
[div align=\\\"center\\\"]Joshua Palmer[/div]
This is an interesting pick. On one hand, giving Rose Jenkins more tools to pass to is always a good option. On the other hand, im pretty sure Kansas City had the worst defense in the league. He has quite solid hands, but lacks in the speed and agility department. He's a prospect that will be a project, a late season bloomer. I'm excited to see his development, but I feel as if a defender could have been a great pick. He's going to struggle to burn cornerbacks as most are above his speed and agility. He's a player I'm going to watch for the season and see his development
Grade: B+ Solid pick for a weapon for Jenkins, but a defender might have been smarter.
[div align=\\\"center\\\"]Blaster Blade Jr[/div]
I love this selection. Lewis was phenomenal last year and really helped our defense in the later part of the season, and I believe blade will do the same. He's coming into the DSFL as a speedy prospect, a prospect whos already faster than most players, and faster than a lot of send-downs. He's the real deal. He will have to improve his strength and he sometimes makes pretty questionable decisions, but these all get masked in his speedy. Perfect pick to bolster a defense that lacked severely at the end of the season.
Grade: A. Amazing pick for Kansas City. So far no crazy outrageous picks.
[div align=\\\"center\\\"]Evan Trigg[/div]
This guys a real wrecking ball. The loss of Fraiser Crane and Ryan Leaf damaged the defensive line, and sent our defensive spiraling downward. Luckily, this seems to be a defensive heavy draft, and smart of the GM's to recongnize their weak defensive line and they select Evan Trigg. His strength is pretty impressive for a prospect, as his strength is likely one of the highest amongst DSFL prospects. His speed is a bit lacking, but just like Palmer and the rest of the prospects, there is certainly time to improve. I like this selection
Grade: A-. Good selection to fix the poor defensive line.
[div align=\\\"center\\\"]William Tell[/div]
A zone cornerback, again going with the theme of defense. I'm not sure if we actually had any human cornerbacks, so an great pick. His Speed and Intelligence are already elite amongst draftees, and so is his agility. If he can stay in the gym, he'll be a monster of a player for the Yotes. Solid pick to help with the defense.
Grade: A-. Again, great defensive selection. Speedy smart Cornerback. I like.
[div align=\\\"center\\\"]Anthony Jemima and Jason McBride[/div]
I lumped this together since they are the two offensive line selection. This is important if they can remain gym rats, as they will contribute heavily to the wall movement that has swept over the league, starting from Tijuana. They established a great offensive line, and it resulted in amazing offensive performance. I think the same will happen in KCC with Jemima and McBride. I'll give a slightly lower grade since they're oline and there's a larger chance of inactivity, but if not I really like this selection.
Grade: B, but pretty much an A if they remain active.
Thought's it be interesting to analyze my former team's draft picks, congrats to all rookies who were drafted. Yote for life
