Hello all, I hope this thread finds you well. HO has been discussing many things lately, and we have a boatload of announcements to bring to you today.
The first of these is our new double media policy. We have noticed some people taking advantage of double draft media, so we have decided to introduce some new policies to this that should help:
1. Instead of one double media a year, we will have two special media topics a year set at 1.5x media payout.
2. Instead of only having draft double media, we will have various topics to allow double media, such as trade deadline, playoffs, and free agency.
3. Media must be made up of entirely topical information. to clarify, this does not mean you cannot joke around, just that you need to make anything on point. for example, you CAN make a draft ranking lists based solely on what prospect names you like best, you CANNOT make a draft ranking list that is part draft coverage and part you talking about your favorite anime, what happened in the regular season, or why no girls at the bar are impressed when you tell them you won QBotY.
These changes are for multiple reasons. We have had issues with people making non-topical posts and claiming double media. We also have had people save media to post in double media time, which we want to encourage media posting all the time. Another positive is that obviously talking about the same topic every two months can get boring, so we would like to mix things up.
The next order of business is the S17 cap. GMs have already been notified of this, but now we will tell the public. The S17 cap will be raised by 5M up to 80M. As always, we will reassess this number for future seasons
While we're on the topic of money, HO has decided to amend the ruling on agency fees. Initially the agency fees were a flat 10M, but we have decided to adjust that. The new licensing fee rules will be as follows:
0 years experience - 10M
1 year experience - 9M
2 years experience - 8M
3+ years experience - 7.5M
This keeps the payment barrier of entry for inexperienced users, but allows lessening for experienced agents
We also have a new addition to payment involving our spectacular events committee. Many people help with out offseason events preparation, but the people who do the graphics and prepare the presentation do an astronomical amount of work in a short period of time. This in the past has been shown by paying out people like @infinitempg enough money to buy the Colorado Yeti if he wanted to (not that those bums would cost a lot #roasted). Now, we have decided that these people will receive full PT passes, given their impact and huge workload. Our quality of presentation is what set us apart from other leagues when our new awards format started, and its effect could even be seen rippling across other sim leagues, so we feel like this is more than deserved.
We have some sad news as well in this announcement thread. First of all, our long time DSFL commissioner, HO simmer, and streamer @`To12143` is stepping down. We appreciate him for the many years of service to the league, especially with the handling of the massive expansion class we had come in not too long ago. We also are bidding farewell to an experienced HO member: the man tied for second longest tenure in HO, @Trautner, will also be leaving us. As our first ever HO Intern hire, we will miss him dearly.
So, who will be replacing these fine gentlemen? Well, for DSFL simmer and streamer, we will be welcoming the user who has easily had the most meteoric rise in NSFL history, @Frick_Nasty! We did not get anyone else to apply for simmer, and Frick graciously volunteered to step in and take the role. We are incredibly thankful. For DSFL Commissioner, the position will be filled by....well, me. We were not able to find an in-house DSFL HO replacement, so I will be taking on commissioner duties for both leagues. Effective immediately, I combine these titles to make the title of High Overlord, which I now appoint myself. now you can all boo my decisions in two separate leagues.
This is all for now, however we do have more potential changes coming in the future, as well as the rules summit happening soon, so stay tuned.
