8 weeks are behind us and it is time to return to the QB power rankings. With 4 more weeks of data to look at its interesting to see what type of differences have appeared between the quarterbacks. After having a quick look it seems that the quarterbacks can be currently split 4 different groups or tiers, between numbers 1-3, 3-6, 7-9 and number ten being in its own category. I will talk about each category or tier with the first player in that category. So let's get into these rankings!
#1 - Easton Cole UP 2
20 Touchdowns, 6 Interception, 99 QBR, 270.1 Y/G, 61.3% Completion percentage
So here we are at number one and we have someone who many would not have predicted to be here at this stage of the season. As I mentioned in my previous rankings, Easton Cole has definitely taken the next step during this season, and has shown us all that this was not some early season fluke. Cole leads the league in touchdowns, quarterback rating, is tied for the least amount of interceptions and is second in completion percentage. He has 75% of his teams touchdowns and 70% of the Copperheads total yards. All in all the only category that Cole is not in the top 3 is total yards per game (this now takes a quarterbacks passing and rushing yards per game), but overall he is doing amazing things and has lead his Copperheads to a 4-4 record and only one game behind the three division leaders who are tied at 5-3. As I mentioned about tiers in my introduction, Cole and the next two players are currently in the first tier where they are a small level above the next group across almost all categories and are clearly the reason, not the problem in their team
#2 - Corvo Havran DOWN 1
19 Touchdowns, 6 Interception, 94.4 QBR, 358.4 Y/G, 58.12 % Completion percentage
Corvo Havran takes a small step down from my previous rankings and is down to number 2 overall. Havran is still doing great things and doing his best to ensure the Hawks stay in contention. Looking at his numbers he is second in total yards per game, total touchdowns, tied for least interceptions. In addition he is third in quarterback rating and completion percentage while accounting for over 84% of his teams total yards. Looking across these statistics, Havran really hasn’t dropped his level of performance compared to the previous rankings and even better in some, but Cole has been able to elevate his game even further. Baltimore going 1-3 after the last rankings is also not helping much. So the lesson here is being solid is not enough when you want to be number one
#3 - Andrew Reese UP 1
17 Touchdowns (including 1 rushing), 6 Interception, 93.9 QBR, 314.3 Y/G, 61.61% Completion percentage
Andrew Reese seems to be telling father time that not today old man and keeps improving his play as the season goes on. From my previous rankings Reese has improved his touchdown to interception ratio, quarterback rating and completion percentage. Currently he is top 3 in all of those categories and even leading the league in completion percentage. Across the last four games Reese has only had one game and in all other three has been the main reason for the Outlaws victories, as they have gone 3-1. In addition Reese has become a somewhat mobile QB, ith 186 rushing yards (which ranks for 3rd among quarterbacks) and is accounting for over 83% of the Outlaws total yards.
#4 - Cooter Bigsby UP 1
17 Touchdowns, 8 Interception, 83.7 QBR, 342 Y/G, 55.26% Completion percentage
After handing off 5 touchdowns to Morgan Marshal from the one yard line in week 2, Bigsby decided to level up his game and show everyone that he is one of the main reasons the Wraiths sit at 7-1 and at the top of the league. Of course their defense has been amazing but Bigsby has improved his touchdown to interception ratio, quarterback rating and completion percentage. He is also accounting for around 80% of his teams total yards and is second in passing yards, just behind Havran. He is also the first player in the second tier, where players are doing good things for their team and statistically they are good in one or two categories but not nearly as consistent as those in the first tier.
#5 - Franklin Armstrong DOWN 3
15 Touchdowns (including 5 rushing), 6 Interception, 81.5 QBR, 276.25 Y/G, 55.14% Completion percentage
Franklin Armstrong is the player who has taken the biggest drop in the rankings from their previous edition (along with Rose Jenkins). This has been partly due to his own play and also because his peers around him have been able to elevate their game. His completion percentage and quarterback rating have gone down while his touchdown to interception ratio has stayed the same. What Armstrong has really done has become a running quarterback with 456 rushing yards which is clearly a cut above any of the other quarterbacks and in addition has 5 rushing touchdowns and makes him a threat on the ground. The Otters are currently sitting at the top of the ASFC, tied with the Outlaws and Second Line and Armstrong’s dual threat presence has helped them reach that position
#6 - Adriana Falconi UP 1
17 Touchdowns, 9 Interception, 80.9 QBR, 267.8 Y/G, 54.6% Completion percentage
Adriana Falconi is only up one spot in these rankings compared to last time, but her and Liberties play is much better than it was after the first four weeks. Falconi has been able to improve her completion percentage and quarterback rating. She has also thrown for 10 touchdowns and 3 interceptions in this 4 game span and has taken the Liberty from 0-4 to 2-6. She currently sits at 3rd in total touchdowns and very middle of the road in most other statistical categories. This complements her placement at the bottom of the second tier of quarterbacks and if she keeps improving her play at this rate, I can see brighter things for her and for the Liberty in the future.
#7 - Stan Francisco UP 2
13 Touchdowns (including 2 rushing), 12 Interception, 72 QBR, 274 Y/G, 55.7% Completion percentage
At number 7, we have the biggest positive mover of the rankings (along with Easton Cole) in Stan Francisco, who moves up two spots. Francisco also introduces us to the third tier of quarterbacks who compared to their peers in the two previous tiers have more problems moving the ball along with ball safety. This can be seen from Francisco who is the first quarterback on the list close to a 1-to-1 touchdown to interception ratio. Other numbers for Francisco have stayed pretty similar across most statistical categories but he is accounting for a larger share of his teams total touchdowns and yards. Francisco has had two good games mixed in with two tough outings, but I see him having the possibility of leading the Second Line to a playoff win.
#8 - Rose Jenkins DOWN 3
12 Touchdowns, 14 Interception, 69.6 QBR, 298.6 Y/G, 54.67% Completion percentage
The slide for Rose Jenkins is similar to what has happened to the Butchers. Everyone was surprised with their 3-1 start to the season but they showed their true colors by going 0-4 since my last rankings and this can be seen with Jenkins as well. Her stats have really taken a hit, with her completion percentage, yards per game and quarterback rating going down. In addition she has thrown for 6 touchdowns and 8 interceptions in that span. She is accounting for over 81% of her teams yards and 75% of their touchdowns, but maybe she is being asked to do much as the Butchers are 3-5, her quarterback rating is below 70 and she has a touchdown to interception ratio below 1
#9 - Wolfie McDummy DOWN 1
9 Touchdowns, 7 Interception, 69.5 QBR, 224.1 Y/G, 52.9% Completion percentage
Oh no, hopefully this is not the slide on which McDummy reaches the depths of last year (although this year the competition for last place is really tough). McDummy’s numbers have not changed much since the last rankings, with small dips in his quarterback rating but improvements to completion percentage and yards per game numbers. I started to think why McDummy is all the way down here and it is mostly due to the fact that he is not asked to do much and his stats in most categories are quite unimpressive compared to his peers. He has the second lowest yards per game, touchdown total, completion percentage and quarterback rating, which I think fairly points out why he is ranked at number 9 and brings to a close the third tier of quarterbacks we have.
#10 - Dan Wright SAME
7 Touchdowns (including 2 rushing), 11 Interception, 49 QBR, 169.5 Y/G, 46.6% Completion percentage
So here we are at the bottom of the rankings and in our own special tier reserved for Dan Wright. It seems training has paid off for Wright as he has improved his touchdown to interception ratio, quarterback rating, yards per game and completion percentage since the last look at him, but I think he needs a dragonball Z time chamber for him to be able to become a NSFL ready quarterback during this season. This is because even though he has improved in all of these statistics he is still well behind all of his peers in all of them and really is a level behind all of them. As I said last time, I feel he is really taking one for the team and trying his best. I hope you are able to find a time capsule for yourself and complete enough training!
With that I will sign off from the Power Rankings, hopefully everyone has enjoyed reading them!
#1 - Easton Cole UP 2
