The Baltimore Hawks and Yellowknife Wraiths went head to head in a Week 9 rematch, where the Hawks won 17 - 12. The Wraiths clearly made some offensive adjustments for this game, as they came out swinging. The Wraiths entire offense was clicking on every cylinder as the team scored, an NSFL record, 40 points. Alexandre LeClair vultured two first quarter touchdowns on 1 yard passes from QB Chris Orosz. LeClair would catch his third touchdown pass of the game late in the 3rd quarter. LeClair was only able to get in position to score though because of big catches by Josh Garden and strong run from Bubba Nuck. Garden ended the day with seven catches and broke the NSFL single game receiving yards record with 131 yards. On the ground, Nuck was handed the ball 26 times and he converted those carries into 107 yards and a touchdown. With just four games to play, this win puts the Wraiths one game ahead of the Hawks in the fight for a playoff spot.

The Colorado Yeti took on the Orange County Otters in the primetime matchup. The game fell short of expectations for most fans. With two of the top defenses in the league playing, points were hard to come by and both offenses were held in check. The game was tied 6 - 6 going into the fourth quarter before a Bradley Westfield TD catch put the Otters up 13 - 6 in what would be the final score. The only standout performance of the game came from Otters running back Omar Wright. The speedy back picked up 109 yards on 20 carries. On the Otters game winning drive, Wright picked up 27 of their yards on the several carries. He also caught two passes for 18 yards and added 54 more yards on special teams. The win keeps the Otters in the race for 1st place of the ASFC. Despite the loss, the Yeti remain in 1st in the NSFC, one game ahead of the Yellowknife Wraiths.

The Arizona Outlaws beat the San Jose Sabercats in two of their last three meetings. Before last week, the Sabercats week 2 win over the Outlaws was also their only win of the season. This week 10 matchup had a much different feel to it though, with the Sabercats having a new starting QB and rumors swirling about a QB change looming in Arizona. The Outlaws QB must have been hearing those rumors though and he went out to put his doubters to rest. Vincent Draxel completed 58% of his passes for 277 yards and 3 touchdowns and no interceptions. Draxel led the Outlaws to a 27 - 14 victory. With the victory the Outlaws clinched a playoff spot and now sit with the best record in the league at 7-3. Questions remain about Draxel’s commitment and despite his MVP-esque performance, rumors about a QB change continue in the desert.
