In week 2, we were playing San Francisco. Going into the game I felt confident, though I wasn't sure if long touchdowns would save me once more. Turns out, this game had more sustainable drives and shorter touchdowns.
Starting the game off, our first drive lead us into the redzone but I couldn't punch the ball in right away. I was faced with a 4th and goal on the 4 yard line and given the early timing and the good defense, I decided to go for it. I ended up scrambling and running it in myself. A 4 yard touchdown run for Stan Francisco.
After a couple of drives for both teams stalled. I managed to have a fantastic punt that pinned San Francisco to the 1 yard line. Sadly, they managed to get out of trouble and even scored a field goal on this drive.
Before halftime, yet another drive of mine stalled on the goal line, with another 4th down coming up. It worked well once, so why not twice? THis time I found Jordan Von Matt in the endzone for the 2 yard touchdown.
Halftime score was 17-3 for NOLA.
Another good drive to start in the second half and this time it didn't take until fourth down. Forrest Gump managed to put it in from the 1 yard line.
Soon after that, the defense got another stop and Gump managed another touchdown, this time from 4 yards.
At this point, San Francisco finally put together a successful drive and scored their first touchdown. With only a few minutes left, they go for an onside kick AND GET IT (wow!)
However, their drive went nowhere and the defense managed another stop. They were crushing it all game.
In the end, this was a really dominant game that never really felt all that close. I managed to move the ball well on offense, both with running game and passing game. Gump was clearly less effective this time, but if you looked at the stats in game 1, a huge chunk of his yards came on the two long touchdowns. His average was clearly not great in this game but he often got first downs when we needed it. I managed to avoid an interception though at times I got lucky with that. There was also one deep pass to Jones again, but a defender deflected it at the last second. I think his speed is a really big threat though and can kinda break the defense on a long pass sometimes if I can get it to him.
New Orleans wins the second game as well, with a 31-10 final score.
Here are the stats for NOLA:
Francisco 21 of 31 for 229 yards, 1 TD 0 INT, 67 yards rushing, 1 TD rushing
Gump 36 for 98 yards, 2 TDs, 2 catches for 7 yards
Fyodo 5 catches for 74 yards
Rodriguez 5 catches for 53 yards
Von Matt 4 catches for 36 yards and 1 TD
Jones 4 catches for 46 yards
Kwemen 1 catch for 13 yards
Ulysses 2 pancakes
Slothface 12 tackles, 4 TFL
Bode 7 tackles, 1 PD
Taylor 6 tackles, 1 TFL
Stokeley 6 tackles, 2 TFL, 1 sack
Rector 5 tackles, 1 PD
Faux 5 tackles, 1 TFL, 1 sacks
Ridley 5 tackles, 1 PD

Ironside 2 tackles
Rax 1 forced fumble
Frost 1/1 on field goals and 4/4 XPs, 45.6 yards average on 3 punts, 2 punts inside 20 yard line, both inside the 10 even
Not sure when I will be able to play week 3 but I anticipate maybe this weekend. I enjoy this series and will try to continue it!
