With the conclusion of season 18 and with the season 19 Nsfl draft just completed I felt like it was the right time to go back and look at the season 18 Dsfl draft. We will see which team drafted the best, who got overlooked, and who was overhyped. I would like to give @illegaloctopus credit for coming up with this idea and letting me use it. Without further ado, let's jump into it.[If I got some of the tpe totals wrong and such I am sorry]
The Draft Itself:
I think it would be interesting to go back and see if people who were drafted in the first round lived up to the position they were drafted in
#1 - Portland Pythons - Toasty - Willie B. Hardagain - 169 TPE - Active
Toasty was the consensus top pick before the draft because of his ties to Portland because he had demanded to get drafted by them. Although he may not be a top tpe earner, he is still active and helps his team win games
#2 - Tijuana Luchadores - iamslm - Avon Blocksdale Jr. - 209 TPE - Active
Everybody had Slm as the top qb going into the draft and most people had him going very high. Lets just say, he has been all that. He has the 4th most tpe in the class and the most tpe for qbs. He is a top earner and Tijuana won’t regret this pick
#3 - Kansas City Coyotes - Leafs4ever - Brock Phoenix - 186 TPE - Active
Where a lot of the controversy in this draft came from was with who the second quarterback taken of the board will be. Sure enough, it was Brock Phoenix. Surprisingly, he is not the quarterback with the 2nd most tpe. However, I don’t think Kansas City would want anyone else leading their team
#4 - Myrtle Beach Buccaneers - SweetJamesJones - Sweet James-Jones - 174 TPE - Active
The first of the wide receivers came of the board with this pick and they got a pretty fine one if I do say so myself. However he does not have the most tpe out of the wide receivers. Yet, trying to imagine SJJ going anywhere else is impossible
#5 - Tijuana Luchadores - Sweetwater - Gary Lazer-Eyes - 170 TPE - Active
Now I know what you may be thinking, how does tijuana have all these picks? Don’t worry about it. All you need to know. He has a solid TPE amount and definitely helped on the defensive side. What most people don’t know, is that he didn't update for most of the season. So it might have hurt tijuana early in the season
#6 - Tijuana Luchadores - LordMacharius - Mack Arianlacher - 197 TPE - Active
Arianlacher comes in as the top linebacker in the class and second best defensive player in the class according to tpe amounts. He was a top prospect in most people’s eyes and was expected to be a candidate for defensive rookie of the year. He has played a vital spot on Tijuana’s defense and they wouldn’t play as well as him.
As you can see, the people who were picked in the first round were all valuable for their team and were good picks. My question is, who were some people who were slept on who should've been drafted higher.
Steals of the Draft
I will now cover who I think was overlooked and where they were picked, and I promise you that there were steals.
#11 - Portland Pythons - Blueline - Sean O’Leary - 231 TPE - Active
Blue is a user who is very active in PBE and decided to create a player in the NSFL. For some unknown reason, most teams didn’t even contact him. You bet I was ecstatic when he fell to me at pick 11. Although he has been the second string wr behind Jake Dropson, he was still able to put together a really, really good season for a rookie.
#12 - San Antonio Marshals - Nokazoa - Austin McCormick - 236 TPE - Active
My boy Noka. Before the season the Pythons were able to pick up Noka off of waivers. I was surprised to see Noka go this late because he was top 3 in tpe. Woelker and Rev really lucked themselves into a stud. McCormick had an amazing season where he was in contention for tight end of the year. He was always a reliable target for Vega and he definitely helped his team.
#14 - Palm Beach Solar Bears/Myrtle Beach Buccaneers - Zeddez - Quindarius Tyerucker - 201 TPE - Active
Many people know Zed as the Pokemon Fanatic for how much time he has spent using Pokecord. However, not many people knew that he was an active user as he fell all the way into the 3rd round. Tyerucker was one of the best running backs in the league and occasionally put the Buccaneers on his back. I don’t know how he was so overlooked but you can bet that Frost and Hall aren’t complaining.
#18 - Portland Pythons - Scorycory - Kacey Dream - 240 TPE - Active
Cory, Cory, Cory…… what a steal. If you look up the word “steal” in the dictionary “Kacey Dream” comes up. Brought into this league by IsaStarcrossed, he was immediately picked up off of waivers by Palm Beach. He became a legend in that city and they even erected a statue for him. However, most people had thought that he went inactive. So when Portland picked him up in the third round no one thought much of it. The one person they forgot about was Isa. He had helped Cory join the league and now he helped him update. Cory immediately jumped up to the top of the pack and is now leading s19 in total TPE. So what was the biggest steal of this draft, it was Kacey Dream.
So we found out who was overlooked and we summarized the first round. I am kind of wondering which team drafted the best.
Team Drafting
So to find out which team drafted the best we will find out who drafted the best offense, best defense, and best overall. (I know there weren’t a lot of prospects but I still wanted to write this.)
