It's been a nice long ride for my first player career here. I'm glad to have gotten to enjoy this run with a defensive player, a departure from my usual experience with football games and sims. I am a bit sad that I stepped back from the NSFL for a time, and especially when he had the greatest season of his career while away (and then you lot didn't give him any awards, though I suppose I'll let that go).
It's time to move on, though. If my math is correct, he will retire automatically at the end of S20 anyway since there's no getting 440 TPE in one season. Might as well get started on the next player.
I do want to thank a few who have helped make Deringer's career great and got to enjoy while I was active.
@ckroyal92: The Bossman himself. In him, I trusted the process when he drafted Deringer back in S9. I was thrilled to be part of the team through the Process and finally shed the SJS Curse.
@`AndrewWarren13`: The QB through most of the run I recall and a playcalling assistant through some of it. Absolutely loved the leadership and enthusiasm.
@iseedoug: My bash brother in the LB corps for a few seasons. Glad we each got our rings in due time. I was only sad that he moved on to BAL right before the Cats finally ripped a championship.
@[caltriot_red_flames]: The man who completed the dreaded LB trio. So glad to have gotten to play alongside your guy.
Please let me know if I missed anyone. There's a gap in my memory currently since I just recently returned and I might have legitimately missed someone I need to shout out.
My hope for the end is that Deringer hits 1000 tackles for his career. If we're counting regular season only, that's 61 to go. If the postseason counts, only 16 more. After that, anything that may boost his HoF chances is a bonus.
I'll be back around with a new player after I look at the top needs for the next class.
